Transiting Sun enters Leo
Monday, July 22 - Thursday, August 22, 2024
Leo the Lion*:
‱ Fire (identity - enthusiastic, energetic, creative, passionate, assertive, freedom-loving)
‱ Yang (levity - outgoing, expressive, logical, left-brained)
‱ Fixed (stabilizing security - concentrating, consolidating, persevering, stubborn)
‱ Interpersonal (social - focused on others)
‱ "I show"
‱ Ruler - Sun; exalted - Pluto (in Ms M’s opinion)
‱ Color: warm reds, sunburn pink, all the colors in a tequila sunrise, gold lamĂ©
(* Gleaned almost completely from the book Astrology for Yourself by Bloch and George; the color is my own theory/belief.)
Leo season is supposed to be a joyous, (re)creative time. We deserve to be noticed and applauded! As astrologer Steven Forrest wrote,
There is a part of you that is colorful and interesting, worthy of taking up some space, worthy of claiming time and attention from other people. You are the hero in your own story and that story is worth hearing - take the risk of acting as if you believe that.
This month, in addition to having fun, you also should pay attention to your own authenticity - “true to your own personality, values, and spirit, regardless of the pressure that you're under to act otherwise,” per mindtools dot com. Authenticity and integrity, mixed in with the partying and drama.
Monday, July 22 - Sun/Leo opposite Pluto Rx/Aquarius, 0°52’. A confrontation? A choice? This is one aspect where authenticity is very much at the heart. How do we stay true to ourselves without completely alienating everyone else?
Thursday, July 25 - Friday, July 25:
Sun/Leo sextile Mars/Gemini, 3°36’
Sun/Leo (3°51’) sesquiquad Saturn Rx/Pisces (18°51’)
There’s a lot of energy, but also some minor timing issues. Recklessness, too; plowing on ahead heedlessly.
Wednesday, July 31 - Thursday, August 1:
Sun/Leo inconjunct Ceres Rx/Capricorn, 9°21’
Sun/Leo trine North Node/Aries, sextile South Node/Libra, 9°35’
Authenticity and integrity again; growing pains. We have to be mature about something, and we actually enjoy it.
From here on, most of the aspects overlap quite a bit - they seem to flow into one another.
Sunday, August 4 - Wednesday, August 7:
New Moon, 12°34’ Leo
Sun/Leo (13°38’) semi-square Juno/Virgo (28°38’)
Sun/Leo (14°36’) sesquiquad Neptune Rx/Pisces (29°36’)
Sun/Leo sextile Jupiter/Gemini, 15°32’
The New Moon is a powerfully intense one. We may not completely trust our own judgement, especially when it comes to our partners, although we’re also confident about getting it right eventually. Lots of enthusiasm and optimism.
Friday, August 9 - Sun/Leo inconjunct Saturn Rx/Pisces, 18°05’. Adjustments; perhaps some ill health. We may feel like giving up, instead of doing the hard, necessary work.
Wednesday, August 14 - Tuesday, August 20:
Sun/Leo (22°51’) sesquiquad Ceres Rx/Capricorn (7°51’)
Sun/Leo trine Chiron Rx/Aries, 23°21’
Sun/Leo (23°48’) sesquiquad North Node/Aries (8°48’), semi-square South Node/Libra (8°48’)
Sun/Leo square Pallas/Scorpio, 24°09’
Sun/Leo trine Eris Rx/Aries, 25°25’
Sun/Leo conjunct Mercury Rx/Leo, 26°35’
Sun/Leo square Uranus/Taurus, 27°11’
Full Moon, 27°15’ Aquarius
Sun/Leo conjunct Vesta/Leo, 27°50’
Serious, serious issues about, you guessed it, authenticity and integrity. When we run into difficulties, and when we’re challenged, we’re furious. Again, the problem is how to stay authentic without alienating anybody. It isn’t always going to be possible to do that, and we need to accept that some people aren’t going to accept us.
Wednesday, August 21 - Sun/Leo inconjunct Neptune Rx/Pisces, 29°18’. Disspirited, delusional, fog and fading - even if we did all the previous aspects “right.” It can knock us off our high horse, &/or give us tremendous creativity. Steven again: “A vision arises for the next stage of your journey; you must surrender to it in order to receive it.”

Deep Dive into the 'Six Thinking Hats' theory
02/06/2025
ui6uyfkygiugij
Last Tuesday's work....
To be honest, theses days it has been a abit difficult for me to get back on track with work since we recently finished our last submission.
Since I'm currently having trouble with registering new information, I will be writing down whatever information I can find on the internet related to the '6 hat theory' in my notebook!
For now, this is some quick research for me to get a basic understanding this theory and how to apply it for the museum exploration activity!

AY24.25 CTS A  Week 10Compulsory Question 1
In my understanding, the Critical Thinking Skills module in this diploma program helped me enhance my observation, reflection, and analysis skills as I am It introduced me to various forms embedded in everyday themes and experiences (Modules descriptors, LASALLE College of the Arts). Overall I think this module sharpened my ability to analyze content from different perspectives and communicate ideas clearly. According to SkillsYouNeed, critical thinking is essential for evaluating information and making informed decisions (Critical Thinking).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I see the module as a burger. Each skill we learned on each week are like the layers like burger, adding structure. According to Verywell Mind, these skills combine to create a full understanding (Skills for Effective Communication). By the end of the module, I feel ready to “complete the burger” by applying these skills to future challenges.
Alternatively, I could use a toolbox metaphor, where each skill is a tool for different situations. According to MindTools, these tools are essential for tackling various challenges (Essential Skills for an Excellent Career). I can use these tools to navigate future obstacles effectively.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Week 5's focus on a growth mindset was the most meaningful to me. Drawing the I Jooz logo with my non-dominant hand pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me face mistakes in other modules with a more open mindset. This activity taught me to focus on balance over perfection. Additionally, it was my first time trying IJOOZ, which made the experience even more enjoyable and reinforced that failure is part of the learning process. As Mindset Works says, embracing failure is key to a growth mindset (Mindset works). Now, I accept mistakes and use them as motivation, I become more resilience in other modules (craft, studio, and photography) to confidently tackle challenges.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Additionally, In Week 2, I learned that working in a group is valuable because it brings together different perspectives, as I mentioned before i am extremely introved, now I leading to more creative solutions (MindTools). It also helps build communication and problem-solving skills, important in school and future career.
overall, I wish I had been more confident in sharing my ideas during group discussions. During Studio sessions, I often held back, unsure if my ideas were strong enough. After learning about conflict resolution in Week 4, I realized I could have been more assertive and contributed more actively (Conflict Resolution Network).

Mentale StÀrke: Wie mentales Training den Unterschied macht
Tumblr media
Read the full article

Week 11 - Compulsory Question 2
Tumblr media
There are lots of times in Craft where I’d feel extremely distracted. The studio is a large space and with that many people, it can be chaotic and hard to focus on work sometimes. Learning about mindfulness really helped me focus better on my work. I struggle and I’m slow with crafting so self-managing has helped me to have less work piled up at home.
Craft is honestly a challenge for me, I even hated it the first few weeks. I found cutting frustrating because if I made one wrong move I’d have to restart. I felt this in Digital skills as well, since we are new to the programs. However, growth mindset has taught me that challenges help me grow. With this mindset, I’ve begun to enjoy these modules more.
Other than craft, mindfulness has also helped me in Studio. With the amount of work that has to be done, I get easily overwhelmed, causing me to not think straight and lacking in ideas. Mindfulness has taught me how important a clear mind is when it comes to planning. I find my ideas more refined when I’m 100% focused in the present moment.
However, of course, there are times when I’m just stuck and can’t think of more ideas. At times like these, I’ve learned to appreciate collaboration. Learning to look at things from other people's perspectives has led me to think of ideas that I’d never think of. I used to not enjoy collaboration mainly because I’d get insecure and compare myself to them. I thought this in Photography class too. When others presented their photos, I thought they were just better. However, now I’d head out myself to take more pictures. Rather than comparing myself, I’m inspired by them.
Tumblr media
Before, I’d rather hide my mistakes but now, I’ve learned how important it's to document everything. Documenting helps me better articulate my ideas to others too. Learning this has helped me understand the purpose of CPJ more.

alright since i've had multiple people asking me about it i'm gonna try to link to some stuff talking about the ableism and antisemitism
but--and i don't mean for this to come across condescendingly--i'm also going to ask y'all to please also put some effort into learning how to seek out information on your own. a lot of the stuff i'm linking i found by googling and/or searching tumblr with search terms like "strange new worlds ableism" and "strange new worlds antisemitism"
i understand that searching for information is a lot harder with how search engines are now, and navigating search engines probably isn't exactly something that's taught in general school curriculum. at the same time, it's also a very important thing to learn how to do effectively, especially if learning about, understanding, learning to identify, and combating bigotry is something that's important to you.
snw antisemitism post / and another. (also how Leonard Nimoy very intentionally drew on his Jewish heritage in order to inform Spock as a character and Vulcan culture as a whole, and how SNW has seemingly completely ignored all of that)
post about ableism in snw (hemmer) / post about ableism in snw (pike) (this one is older, but it still stands) / and another one / opinion piece on SNW that gets into some of the ableism (pike) towards the end of the piece
and here are some pages i found that might help with learning how to more effectively search for information online:
