#mini smiling critters

This is weird but could you do some headcanons of a MC reader who steals adopts one of those living plushies of the smiling critters (the ones who took over dog day) and keeps them like a pet dog and keeps them for the rest of the chapter

(It can be any of the critters, but preferably a Bobby bearhug)

Poppy: "What do you have there??"

You, with a Bobby Bearhug Critter on your shoulder: "Uh, a battery...?"

Yep, somehow you managed to tame one of the feral Smiling Critters you found within the playhouse.

Literally the only thing you did was throw some snacks at Bobby since she was 0.1 seconds away from eating your flesh....and she's followed you ever since like a pet.

She's advertised as the most lovable critter, and you wonder if part of that is why she's so friendly to you.

But you know she's really just hungry and would've ripped your face off if not for your quick reaction.

Still, Bobby stays with you even after fleeing from the other mini critters who took over Dogday's body, never leaving your side while venturing through the rest of Playcare.

You do stop to sew her eye back on properly and clean her heart necklace and fur, of course.

Poppy, Kissy, and even Ollie are confused as to how and why she's not aggressive towards you like the others are.

But hey, any ally you can get is good. No matter how bug or small.

She still has phrases she's programmed to repeat. Very generic stuff associated with her character like "I love you forever" and "I'm all yours".

But you wanna believe she genuinely means those things and wants to reassure you.

During the fight with Catnap, he tried taking Bobby away from you, seeing her as a "traitor" and creating hallucinations of her as a gigantic monster--but you're not deterred.

Once he's dead and gone, you take a moment to hug the little red bear tightly, relieved she was safe and free of his ruling..

Even after all these years, she still smells like roses.

Part 2/2, dw they get their mini nap back

And DogDay is like “I’m the last of the Smiling Critters”

I was thinking “Well, what the hell happened to the others?” I decided that “CatNap killed them all” was Too Boring, so I made up my own explanations!

if i spend one (1) (um) more minute working on this i'm never going to post it, so!!!! here's my design/overall thoughts for the player character, aka the Angel! They're just a tired dad/mom/parent who feels too guilty for their own good. After saving everyone they called the authorities because they had no idea how to take care of everyone's injuries. Has a savior complex, probably, and HATES being in big groups of people but someone has to deal with the media after they got all the toys out of Playtime Co. Trying their best to keep everyone happy!

My Angel has a birth mark on their face. It's mostly visual and has no impact on their health, except for other kids bullying them when they were younger. Angel likes nature and has been trying to introduce the toys to other animals. So far, Mommy Long Legs attempted to eat five insects, and Catnap succesfully managed to swallow a whole toad.

The only other person who's helping Angel with being a parent to +80 toys is... Well.

The Prototype himself.

So after getting into the newest chapter, I had to make a Player sona because I'm one of the few Poppy Playtime fans in my friend spaces...

also since I really like Hoppy Hopscotch and her mint scent, I made a lil mini smiling critter 'pet' for my insert named Scrap (bc he likes scraps of food and also bc I based him off Springtrap bc I wanna) who's in the hands of my insert despite being a feral, flesh craving bastard. Like any horse girl movie, with enough training and bonding, we will win the big race* together.

Build a Bear

The factory had been in dismay since the hour of joy, cold and lonely with every creature inside having to start a new life.

A miniature Bobby Bearhug critter limped as she walked through the abandoned hallways, weakly trying to find somewhere to stay and hide. It had been a week since she had been separated from the girl she swore to protect and always be there for, and it hurt. Cotton fell out with every single step but she was so desperate to find somewhere to put herself to rest.

However, she hadn't noticed a pair of bright eyes staring at her from a distance. But the moment that another small Bearhug jumped In front of her, she was startled and growled at the seemingly in good condition toy. This bear… she looked like she was still in the old Playcare, still having pretty red fur and seamless stitches to hold her together. A small but shiny red heart dangling on her throat, and a big goofy smile decorating her face.

Cubby, despite her injuries got into a fighting position, slowly backing away but ready to pounce and defend herself. But the other bear, Cuddles, seemed to have different plans in mind. She very slowly approached Cubby, sniffing her and smelling a faint lavender on her from when she was attacked. With a big happy smile, Cuddles tried to pull the other bear into a big bearhug.

…

But was very quickly greeted with a weak swat to the face, which caught her by surprise but she didn't let that ruin her mood. Why was her friend being so weird?? They both were followers of the same god, weren't they? Well, no. Cuddles was a follower, and Cubby was a heretic. A friendship that was bound to be in ruins if there would even be one at all, but Cuddles wasn't aware of this. Her friend smelled weird sure but still smelled of that familiar lavender. Yet the faded pink bear's nose wrinkled at the smell of strong lavender, the scent practically pooling off of the other as if she was Catnap’s pet.

Cuddles got into what looked like a fighting position, but was instead her trying to play. Her tail wiggling in delight as it seemed like the strange bear in front of her wanted to play too, even if she really didn't. The small critter wiggled a bit before pouncing! Catching her new friend by surprise, leading to growls and roars erupting on either side. One being playful, and the other being serious.

It was only when the red bear sunk her little teeth into Cubby’s shoulder that she actually got hurt, driving Cubby’s adrenaline to the max as she flung the bear off of her back leading to a harsh impact before bolting away. Leaving poor Cuddles confused.

Not all bears were built the same.
