Celebrating #TrayThursday this week with the most beautiful spread from @ThymesFragrances ☁️ I was over-the-moon excited when Thymes sent me some pieces from their stunning Goldleaf Gardenia & Kimono Rose collections and I think I’ve found my new favorite perfume ✨ Their #MirabellePlum fragrance has been my go-to for years because of the deliciously crisp, fruity notes, but sadly that scent has since been discontinued. I wanted to try some of their more floral collections and loved both scents so much for different reasons but ultimately decided #GoldleafGardenia is my new favorite 💕 Breakdown of the fragrance profiles: . 🌸 Goldleaf Gardenia - a warm and inviting floral base that melts into petal-soft, feminine notes on the skin. I love how crisp and sweet this scent is - I spritz it on generously in the morning and after hours of chasing a toddler around I’ll still smell like a bouquet of fresh cut flowers when it’s time for bed 🌹 Kimono Rose - a soft and elegant floral base that blossoms into a powdery fresh scent once it settles on the skin. Not edited, but I wanted to start posting some of my writing SOMEWHERE and might as well start now I suppose right!! Anyway, Jane is mirabelleplums DND character so here's a short thing I did at 1 in the morning

Blood splattered across Jane’s face. She winced back, the warmth stinging her skin as she stumbled away. Dimly, she heard J’Rai’s shocked gasp, but it was drowned out by the sound of flesh hitting the ground.

The body hit the ground with a loud noise. It wasn’t quite a thud, not the way Jane thought it would be. It was dull, yet it was the loudest noise she had ever heard. It drowned out J’Rai’s words, the spark of power as Mwana throw another fireball, and Jonathon chattering as he dragged the bodies away. None of it was louder than the sound that the body made when it hit the ground at her feet, the same green eyes that she saw every time she looked into the mirror staring back at her. Her mother.

Avery-Jane Riverfoot didn’t make a sound when she died. Cold green eyes glazed over before her final words. Her body hit the ground without a single word said. The closest thing to something profound, to those famous last words that people spoke about, was the sound her body made when she hit the ground.

The closest thing Jane-Avery Riverfoot got to a goodbye was a thud.

Blood seeped from her mother’s body. The ground was stained red, and the red spread and spread, until it was lapping at Jane’s feet. Her mother was looking at her, bright green eyes so much like Jane’s staring sightlessly up.

Dimly, Jane realized she was shaking. The others were talking, discussing what to do. But Jane didn’t join in. She didn’t really think she could. They were too far away, hidden behind emerald green and locked away by the scarlet red.

“Jane?” Somehow, the voice didn’t really belong. It wasn’t meant to be there. Too loud, too present. Not at all like Jane, floating off into the fog. She turned a bit, feeling sightless eyes following her as she met the eyes of the man. They were soft, brown and concerned, no trace of the anger she sometimes saw within him. She wondered if he had felt it when they had struck down her mother, or if he felt nothing. Like her.

“Are you okay?” The words were uttered so softly, spoken with the same hesitance that had made Jane so worried over the boy in the first place. She didn’t answer, letting the words drift through the fog around her. Then, she forced a smile onto her face.

“Just dandy!” She chirped. A part to play, her mother’s voice chided in her head. And she played her part well. She didn’t have time to mourn. To figure out if she should. She had to smile. She raised her head up, meeting J'Rai's concerned gaze. And then, because she was Jane, she gave him a thumbs up.

J'Rai was quiet. She'd known him long enough to know that he was thinking his next words through. J'Rai was like that. He considered his words very carefully, choosing them like puzzle pieces that slot together.

"Oh." He whispered, finally, which Jane felt was a little anti climatic. "Okay."

Jane smiled wider, and ignored the feeling of her mother's eyes on her.

Our new home is a secret treasure trove of bloody awesome. We returned from our holiday to find two trees absolutely LOADED with these. We think they might be mirabelle plums, but they seem quite red so now we're thinking a type of cherry? However they smell like plums...but they're REALLY small! : I'm hoping we might get enough to make jam or a pie. YEEUUUUUSSSSS. 🙌🏾 : (We've also found several grape vines, two apple trees, and some blackberry brambles. It's like this house knew we were coming.
