- On day three we met up with the Anti-Criss boys at the local Tim Horton’s before hitting the highway for a short three hour drive to Halifax.
- We arrived at Gus’ Pub way ahead of schedule, slammed some whiskey in the parking lot, and then headed out in the town.
- Took a brief stop into the local milsurp where I got myself some much needed new combat boots and then perused the weird oddities at the vintage shop next door to Gus’.
- Went down to Real Fake Meats for lunch where I got myself their much lauded and vaunted VEGAN DONAIR. Worth every cent if you ask me.
- Went back up to Gus’ and ripped the place apart alongside locals Hushmetal and Nightfall, who absolutely crushed it.

Today I got into disc 2 of Lost Odyssey, and the more I play it, the more it becomes clear what an incredibly special game this is. It's very engaging, easy to lose an entire day to, but I'm doing my best to savor it like a delicious meal. So much thought has been put into every aspect, from its visual novel-esque short stories to the simple pleasure of rummaging through your surroundings for items to, of course, each one of its strategic and challenging battles. It's a refined masterpiece of a turn-based RPG, and yet it's also so uniquely itself.
This is the kind of shit that makes life worth living for me. What a serendipitous thing to be alive at the same time Lost Odyssey exists.

I've been getting this idea in my head I wanted to explore about a group of special ghosts known as Mistwalkers. They are the holy messengers of Evermore, in other words the final paradise only worthy souls are allowed to enter. Like Necromancers they served the will of the Angel of Death by helping bear witness to the judgement of souls who have either finally found their peace or have been exiled until such a time as they find redemption or seal their own damnation.
Warning! There are story spoilers for "Vestige" written down below so read the rest at your own peril. Truth be told I mostly just wanted to sort of make a ghost that looked a little more like the classic bed-sheet ghost but with a bit more ethereal elegance. Also, this design is also partially inspired by my oc Luna who I sadly ended up removing from Owen's story and more or less replaced her with Eris as his main supporter/friend. She was just an ice ghost/witch though so there wasn't much of a connection to Death himself apart from maybe the 'deathly chill' someone might feel sort of like Danny's ghost sense.
No one has seen one of these divine spirits since Death sacrificed himself to give ghosts and the other spirits who resided within the Veil a fighting chance against Lilith by reshaping it into the Ghost Zone. Yet in the coming days this will change as the threat of a door opening once more between the Earth and the Ghost Zone that leads to an evil realm of pure darkness even ghosts know to fear draws closer. A realm where Lilith and her legions of Wraiths and other demonic monstrosities reside without an ounce of humanity or mercy to be found in their black hearts.
Death and these divine messengers are the reason why white hair is seen as a symbol of being close in nature to them. Owen might have been born with his partial albinism to symbolize this because he has the soul of the first Necromancer Death granted his power to but Vlad and Danny were 'touched by Death' as and chosen to help restore the lost balance between worlds. Unfortunately Vlad succumbed to his selfish desires and then his ghost form changed to reflect that growing darkness in his heart. But if his heart changes enough he might just be able to reclaim this unknown gift bestowed upon him that's remained buried this whole time. Danny on the other hand embraced his role as a protector and this is why his powers only keep growing stronger, it's a blessing because of his courageous heart as well as the bravery of his ghost hunting ancestors who once helped fight off many evil spirits.
If the rumors that Square-Enix is publishing Fantasian (which, sidebar, what an unfortunate turn for Mistwalker) on consoles, I hope there will be an effort to make that game... better.
Looking through my own tag and I had forgotten the game waits until the end of the first part (~10-15 hours by my estimate) to introduce Character Progression, and that the difficulty in that game is pretty clearly determined by the fact that the diorama environments (which are gorgeous) inherently limit how much world can exist, so they make up for a lack of dungeons with long puzzle bosses that very unfortunately remind me of Paper Mario: Sticker Star.
- Thanks again to Shea for letting us crash at their place in Halifax! We woke up, rallied the troops, and went back to Real Fake Meats again for breakfast. So nice we had to eat their twice.
- Grabbed some booze and hit the road for Exmoor (just outside Miramichi) for the final show of the Crisswalker Tour.
- We arrived at The Shred Shed and, not gonna lie, we got completely wasted for this set. Might be the first time in this band’s history where we all played while completely sloshed and we had the MOST fun doing it. If there’s a venue that demands you not play sober, it would be The Shred Shed.
- While Ten Dollar Meat Bags unfortunately had to drop off the bill, Bathurst’s Mean Street absolutely ruled! Some real Motorhead-style street punk rock n’ roll. Fuckin’ badass.
- Had a great time partying into the wee hours of the morning by messing around on the halfpipe.
