Digimon Survive Week late day 7: Post-game/Future

No longer alone uwu They bff and keep talking to each other with honorifics for at least a year, fight me.

Was miraculously able to finish another piece for @surviveweek, just hoped I could have done more orz but I loved to have the chance to keep drawing for the game that keeps destroying me in all possible ways~

but the world as she knows no longer exists. digimon survive week 2024 day 1: a new world thoughts under cut. spoilers alert. if you haven't completed the game, proceed at your own risk. you have been warned.

i feel so much for miyuki. the girl who got lost and forgotten. even the best possible ending offered in the game leaves many questions as open possibilities. how is she going to live her life now? how will she deal with living in a new world where it's nothing like the one she used to live in? pretty sure nearly all of the people she knew are no longer alive. her younger brother is now an elderly. this is why digimon survive deserves a sequel. i need to know all that lol. here is my personal headcanon / wish, though: exploring how miyuki, at the core, struggles with everything, including accepting the current reality she is in. despite starting to get used to living in the modern world, she can never, for one, imagine her younger brother dying before her. haru, her only family whom she likely can't even communicate properly with in public without people turning heads and wondering why the old man calls the young girl "big sis". that's probably when something can happen involving takuma co. as they themselves try/struggle to integrate their kemonogami partners into daily life, where it could ultimately end with miyuki getting to "catch up" or get turned into the age and appearance she is supposed to be (i'm delusional) if someone already explored and/or wrote a fic about it, please link it to me... if you who are reading this plans to write about it, please tag me when you finish it... i'm more desperate than i look haha 😭

Day 4 of @surviveweek: Supporting Characters

Since Miyuki isn’t technically a part of the main cast in the beginning, I took this as an excuse to draw her! I loved seeing her in Part 8 during the Harmony Route, so I wanted to make a drawing inspired by those interactions near the lake.

Ever think about how Renamon grew far apart from Miyuki and Garurumon grew apart from Akiharu over the course of the 50 years? The way that Renamon's and Garurumon's hearts turned so dark in the time apart from their partners? Miyuki's protectiveness twisted and became Renamon's possessiveness. Akiharu's curiosity twisted and became Garurumon's spite. Ever think about how the Kemonogami is a reflection of the human partner's heart? How this pain was felt inside the hearts of the Minase siblings, and their partners merely gave this pain physical form?

I'm thinking about that a lot right now.

Does anyone else think about how Miyuki staying so young from being trapped in the other world means she might outlive her little brother, who is now an elderly man?? And (aside from the other kids and Renamon) she really will be on her own when he finally dies of old age???

My calendar told me that it's been a year since I finished my first play of Digimon Survive so because I'm a nostalgic busy idiot, let me compile all the stuff I've drawn of Miyuki the Minase siblings (because it's the only thing I've done for Survive to far ;w;)

I'm sorry I'm so busy being overly emotional about this game to the point that I barely draw stuff orz and sorry not sorry that I felt in love with the Minase siblings uwu

My headcanons for what happens after Survive:

After meeting Lopmon, Shuuji's father uses his political influence to try to normalize Kemonogami in society (his job isn't stated in the game, but with the way he acts, he must have either money or influence, probably both).

Haru founds an organization dedicated to help integrate Kemonogami into society. This means helping kids get used to their partners, studying and categorizing different Kemonogami, etc. All the main group works in this organization, of course.

Shuuji helps with research, focusing mostly on trying to recover different Kemonogami cultures from before the Master took over. He's best friends with Ryo.

Ryo works with kids, especially those who have trouble understand or accepting their partners. He's like a therapist, in a sense.

Aoi is in charge of administrative work. Given her grades and intellect, Haru offered her a research job, but she declined it.

Minoru takes care of field research in the Kemonogami world, which hasn't fully merged with the human world yet. He helps with categorizing Kemonogami.

Saki works as a medical assistant. Kids and Kemonogami have to undergo different tests in order to find a more scientific explanation to their bond, so she takes care of helping with the materials and taking notes.

One of the requirements put on the organization by the government is to cooperate with emergency services, and this is what Kaito does. Whenever there are Kemonogami related problems, he's the one to take care of them. When there are too many problems for one person, he contacts the others and takes whoever is free with him.

Miu is on communications duties until she finishes her studies. Her goal is to be able to help educate Kemonogami on human disciplines, and she's working hard to get her degree. She's gotten to know Miyuki a lot better and they're really good friends now.

Takuma is the face of the organization. Haru figured he himself wouldn't be great at explaining things in simple terms. Since Takuma has this mix of seriousness and charisma, he decided to have him take care of anything public related, like TV appearances and such.

Aoi dated Kaito for a while, but they broke up eventually. She's dating Saki now and they're living together.

Takuma and Minoru developed a very obvious crush on each other but they kept trying to reconcile their feelings with the concept they had of their friendship. They kept overthinking it for months until they finally confessed and started dating. It's a bit messy, but they're managing to make it work.
