The big man himself! Daddy Long Legs! STICK IN THE MUD!!!!
As it’s pretty clear on my blog (at least I hope it is) I’m both a huge Slenderverse fan and a Creepypasta fan. So my personal headcanons on Slender varies.
For one, I see slender as the same being within all of it. He’s the operator in Marble Hornets, he’s the Slenderman of Creepypasta. But also the leader of the Collective in Tribetwelve and Stick in the Mud.
The way this works in my head is that he’s one being that moves within the multiple dimensions that house these different groups.
Marble hornets fits within Creepypasta, so the Operator is what reigns over that group. The Proxies (I.E Toby, Kate, Cat Hunter, etc.) are their own dimension. The Slender/Operator that we in the Creepypasta fandom is the one that stays in that dimension.
But when he “leaves” he goes to the other dimensions that you’ll see in EverymanHybrid, TribeTwelve, and even MlAndersen0. That’s where we get the more terrifying being of Slender.
In Slenderverse series it’s shown he’s a very powerful being, just the collective themselves is a good example of this. Considering that if only one of his followers in that cult break free they become a rogue god. This Slender works alongside with beings that are almost as strong as him.
Habit (EMH), Patrick (MLA0), even the Rake in some series. The difference is that the Slenderverse Dimension has no hierarchy of power like it does within the CreepyPasta dimension.
In the Creepypasta dimension we do have stronger demons like Eyeless Jack, Laughing Jack, even Zalgo. But everything is split within who’s the most human.
In the Slenderverse Dimension we don’t have that. We have the embodiment of mankind’s bad habits eating babies and a Rogue God traveling through time to give his younger self anxiety. A repetition of darkness if you may.
So for Creepypasta Dimension Slender he acts more like a boss. Yes he’s still very stoic and quiet. Even walking around him still gives you the same headaches and static that we all know and love.
However, he’s a lot more… “humane” in this dimension. Knowing who to put with who to get the best outcome, keeping his proxies in a mortal state. Even housing other killers and ghosts for safety. He makes his own army in this dimension. Although he leads with an iron fist he also is more patient.
Let’s say Tim in his Masky state was unable to complete a mission. Or unable to keep the mission from going awry. In the other dimension the poor guy would’ve been forced into a purgatory and tortured for years even though it was only a few minutes. But in this dimension he only gets a punishment and a warning.
In the other dimension Slender is a tyrant. A virus within himself if you may. You see this in all the series, from haunting Michael for years since childhood and watching over the reincarnations of the EMH crew.
The sickness is the same for both dimensions, but it’s just a change of personalities between each dimension. I’d like to think that sometimes they cross over, but it’s a high risk operation.
All in all, that’s my basic headcanons on Slender. How he’s still an eldritch being but has multiple dimensions he can watch over. That and different attitude and appearances for each.
-He had a cute sheep as his childhood plush, it got dirty and used because he would squeeze and hug it tightly so much. Unfortunately, the plushie got taken when he was turned into the hospital/ward. He never got it back, and the plushie is probably still in the storage of the hospital, rotting away.
-While hospitalized, Patrick taught him to avoid taking his pills by pulling them under his tongue when the nurses checked, since Michael hated taking the pills. (and without them he was more sensitive to Patrick's control, but that's a whole another HC)
-His favorite smell is coffee. It was always a comforting smell for him, he likes the warmth it exudes.
-His least favorite smell is cigarette smoke. HC that both of his parents were smokers, so the house would basically reek of cigarette smoke. And then Shaun started smoking as well, which he doesn't like, but couldn't say anything about it. Although he would throw in some jabs, hence Patrick's "that's gonna kill you, you know."
-Most of his clothes are either thrifted or from family members. He's too unmotivated to go to a store and try on clothes, and he's pretty insecure too. Dressing rooms make him uncomfortable, so he stays in his comfort zone and just uses his old clothes again and again, since they feel like home.
- ^ adding onto that, i also HC that he has face dysmorphia. When he looks in the mirror, he doesn't understand if he's looking at himself, or at Patrick. Mirrors freak him out because of that, so he avoids them.
-Adores Evanescence. Shaun hates ‘em, probably calls Michael emo.
-He has tried to make his hair look emo at LEAST once. Specifically in the hospital with Smoky’s help, she would comb his hair to the side and tease it. He also would probably try to get a piercing somehow, i feel like he'd want a lip piercing. specifically snake bites.
headcanon : micheal once nabbed a pair of stormy’s heels during his time with her at the mental hospital, and both he and patrick have thus learned to fucking sprint in them.
I’ve noticed an influx of Slenderverse appreciators in my notes. So here:
• Evan probably has some weird recipe that only he eats and everyone else is repulsed by. Like, Twinkie hotdogs with cheez-wiz or something. He got Alex to try it and Alex threw up
• The Koval brothers made up some weird language when they were kids that they still use sometimes as adults (Alex does it more)
• Patrick would be good at bowling, but Michael sucks at it
• Tim never learned how to ride a bike, but can pretty much figure skate on rollerblades
• Brian probably once found a secret tunnel or something under their university and only told Tim. They would sometimes just sit in the dark together
• Jay’s hobbies include baking and coin collecting
• Alex MH literally hates all dogs ever for no reason
He Definitely enjoys edging, grabbing you by the face and forcing you to make eye contact while he plays with your sensitive areas while your hands are tied behind your back and ankles wrapped up with zip ties as he talks to you in the sweetest yet most condescending way youve ever heard in your whole entire life as he praises you in a way thats genuinely belittling & degrading as little tears fall from your eyes and he gingerly wipes them away with his left hands thumb Hushing you tenderly while the other is busy driving you clinically insane.
=====================
He loves pulling your hair yanking your head back to make eye contact with him as he smugly grins forcing you to fuck yourself silly on his cock with glossy eyes he knows just what he's doing to you while asking shit like "what's the matter honey?"
"are you okay??"
Hes a bastard.
=====================
He will leave the fattest juiciest hickies and teeth marks you have ever seen.
he's sososososo special to me and he's so . real and relatable I love him.
DIVERSITY WIN!!! the entity connected to your brother is GAY!!!
Just had to get that one out of the way, and now I can continue.
To me Patrick is someone who is so so UNBELIEVABLY convinced he's a being made for only hate and evil, when in reality he's capable of something more.
I find him to be one of the most interesting slenderverse characters, I mean, he genuinely goes from being feral to remembering every life he's lived and he's just so defeated. he's so alone. He's not human but he's not an absolute monster y'know? and I think being so attached to Michael definitely taught him love.
Patrick is a being full of so much sorrow, he keeps a smile on his face while he knows he'll never get that happy ending he dreams of.
He's SO human for something that is NOT human at all. and HABIT was right for saying that.
-----------------
THIS MAN HAS DISCO FEVER. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH.
he THRIVED in the 70s, that's when he was his best. And I firmly believe that's when he realized that humanity could actually be worth something.
Patrick is FULL of funk. I don't know if that makes any sense to anyone, but it does to me. He's genuinely the type of guy to have a victim tied up and he's just dancing to disco music right in front them with the weapon of his choosing and they have no choice but to sit and watch this wannabe theater kid go crazy.
He's so obnoxious but I think it's absolutely amazing. I bet he absolutely KILLED IT in the clubs back in the day.
-----------------
Despite popular belief, Patrick genuinely loves Shaun. Shaun is Patricks everything next to Michael. I think that if he wasn't so afraid of rushing Shaun's death, they would've been alot closer.
They're not siblings in every iteration, but I like to think most of the time they are. I like to think that there was a time that Patrick got to actually love Shaun, but he realized that no matter what he does, he's just going to lose them anyways, so what even is the point?
Although, I genuinely don't think he expected HABIT to cut Shaun up, that REALLY fucking killed Patrick.
Vinnie and HABIT really fucked with the timeline and i mean, that's what Patrick wanted. That's WHY he warned Vinnie back in the 80s.
So I think he blames himself entirely for the loss of both stormy and Shaun. And I mean he's not exactly wrong which is the worst part for him. it quite literally is his fault this keeps happening.
Hes a sick selfish parasite who does nothing but spread diseases to those he cares about.
------------------
Patrick can play many instruments I know that for sure, and I think he can sing.
He's always had just the heart of a performer in him. Like if he had his choice, or his freedom, he would take the first opportunity to climb onto a stage and show off his talents as if to say; "LOOK AT ME!!! IM WORTH SOMETHING!! I HAVE SOMETHING TO GIVE!!"
Because I think no matter what Patrick is always going to remain hungry for attention, and to be loved by many. He wants his chance in the spotlight, he wants his time to shine, and he's gonna do anything he can to get that moment. he KNOWS there's no escaping and no stopping what goes on, but he might as well make himself WORTH something.
--------------
I believe that Patrick has known a previous iteration of the emh guys, (this IS canon, but I think they were friends, and VERY close) But I think that Patrick and Vinnie were the closest.
there's just something about the way he talks to Vinnie in the Princeton tapes, it's as if he's known him his whole life. like he knows exactly what makes Vinnie tick and how he acts and how he'd answer him.
And sure you could say that it was the collective giving that kind of information out, but I would have to DISAGREE!!!!!!!!
Patrick feels solidarity with Vinnies situation and I really like the way they contrast each other.
Vinnie is just a guy who's more like a monster and Patrick is a monster who is more like a guy.
I like them. alot.
------------
I HAVE SO MANY MORE SO PLEASE DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK ME FOR HCS. I LOVE GETTING THEM AND ANSWERING THEM
Random marble hornets or slenderverse headcanons you have in general?
Dude you just opened Pandora’s fucking box and I couldn’t be happier.
Tim met Brian is a psych class he was taking for extra credit and fun. Brian was a med student, studying to be a nurse. Jay was gonna be a script writer and supervisor and Alex was gonna be a director.
The rake is a far devolved form of a low ranking proxy.
The ark serves as a type of bridging point between different universes. E.g. Marble Hornets canonically existing in EverymanHYBRID, and the watchers also being canonical characters in most every slenderverse show. While the Ark isn’t a physical place, there are certain locations that make it possible for these bridges to form. A main character (someone stuck in a reincarnation loop) coming to a specific location that has been used in multiple slender series can cause these bridges to form.
The Operator Isn’t an inherently malicious being. Comparable to how a human might not even notice stepping on an ant.
The Operator and Slenderman are in fact 2 separate entities. The place where this is most noticeable is in MLAndersen0 with the existence of both a black and red tie variant. Black being the Operator, and red being Slenderman.
I have so many more ideas but I’d need a google doc lol
I’ve been seeing some debates regarding the color of Slenderman’s tie and some people are saying that it’s canon that Slenderman wears only red versus how The Operator wears black when it’s simply not true 😭
Yes, The Operator has always been depicted with a black tie. That part is true
Slenderman, however, has been depicted from the start with a black tie in his original photoshopped images (aka the ones from his creator) and in the vast majority in Slenderverse series (apart from MLAndersen0 where he switches colors)
Yes he has been depicted with a red tie in Slender: The Arrival, that is true
Putting this together, Slenderman has canonically been depicted with both a red AND a black tie
I understand that people simply want to differentiate between Slenderman and The Operator and want to provide an easy way to do so but this is one way that isn’t actually backed up by anything in Slenderman’s canon-
Sorry if this sounds very aggressive, I just don’t like it when people spread misinformation especially if it’s something that’s really easy to look into. Obviously the people doing this have no bad intentions, I sympathize with them since we all fall for misinformation
You’re free to headcanon whatever to your heart’s content!
I can’t believe I’m ranting about the color of a supernatural creature’s tie 😭
OK SO. shaun andersen headcanons… any kind that you prefer!
i love hearing about how ppl interpret him :)
SHAUNN suree! he's my guilty pleasure so ofc (^^)
Shaun Andersen headcanons
-He's a big loser. Honestly, in my eyes, that's why I like him so much. He's not an angel, he's not perfect, and he makes a LOT of mistakes. And that's such a difficult thing to do with a character, and still make them likeable and make you able to sympathise with them. He's an asshole teen/young adult dude who has bad influences and grew up without mental struggles (or at least not as many as Michael had). No shit he's going to be insensitive sometimes!
-I really do think his parents and family influenced his view on Michael. As well as the fact that if you think about it, he was literally a kid younger than 8 years old, and was playing with his older brother, when he's suddenly attacked and wakes up with scratches and broken bones. Like??? that's terrifying for such a young kid. And then his own BROTHER got blamed and thrown into a psychiatric hospital. If his parents raised him telling him that Michael just randomly decided to attack him and break his damn bones, of course he's going to believe his brother is a monster.
-I also think an interesting part about his character is that he's insensitive about mental health. He doesn't understand it. Which is totally realistic. People who have no idea what it's like having psychological problems won't be able to understand it. And especially if someone tells them they are seeing and/or hearing things. It's so deeply rooted in society that people in hospitals and facilities are 'crazies' and should be avoided, and Shaun, a moderately privileged person, has the same mindset.
-I think he really does love Michael. It's his brother, of course. But with everything that has happened, lies, deception from his parents, negative stereotypes about mentally ill people like his brother, as well as Eric's, his literal best friend and roommate, influence his opinions. He's very much blinded and ignorant, a result of his upbringing.
Anyway I'm going to go on a rant if i continue, but i hope this all makes sense 😭 TL;DR: Shaun is a flawed character and i love him.
bonus silly headcanons:
-Has gotten fooled by Patrick a million times. Patrick will take control of Michael to do something actually important, but in the process he'll take time off to pretend to be Michael and mess with Shaun.
-Used to be in a midwest emo/screamo band and was the drummer around high school. Idk why, he gives me drummer vibes.
-Michael would be the type of person to cough loudly while Shaun is smoking close to him just to make Shaun feel guilty. (😭)
thank you for the ask!! I'm excited to write Shaun on my own fanfic as well :3 (link here heheheh)
tw: mentions of abuse, alcoholism, domestic v*olence, and heavy dissociation
- First and foremost, Shaun’s mental health has always been a point of contention, as I believe it definitely isn’t talked about enough; Shaun bore the burden of witnessing his parent’s relationship collapse and burn to the ground after Michael was admitted to the ward. He forced himself to dissociate during these times as a way of dealing with everything surrounding him, and as a result, he developed something known as “dissociative amnesia,” which is a dissociative disorder characterized by “difficulty remembering personal information, usually of a traumatic or stressful nature.” Even though Michael definitely had skeletons in his closet, Shaun had to witness the brunt of his parent’s hidden cruelty to one another.
- Going back to that last headcanon; as Shaun grew up and became more and more reclusive due to the nature of his home life, he started unhealthily attaching himself to the people he had in his circle, fearing something going wrong. He lacked proper social skills and was definitely outcasted at school due to Michael being his brother. “Haven’t you heard? That’s the kid with the psycho brother.” After Michael’s commitment to the ward, things only grew worse for him social wise. Even if Eric whispered bad things about Michael and other mumbo jumbo, who else did he have?
- It’s no secret Shaun heavily resents Michael, but in a way, Shaun also resents himself — for letting Michael be committed and not speaking up about what truly happened. He hates himself for indirectly traumatizing his brother and causing him so much pain. He failed Michael.
- Personally, I believe Slenderman in MLAndersen0 is just a metaphor for dealing with the brunt of childhood trauma, hence why the series is less “supernatural” than the other Big 5. I also believe Shaun’s refusal to believe Michael about Slenderman is just a reference to someone’s inability to acknowledge or accept their own traumatic experiences and be able to move past them. Believing in Slenderman and looking past his closed eyes means Shaun has to relive and reflect on what happened. He can’t imagine ever doing that to himself.
- Definitely transfem and uses two sets of pronouns - she/her and he/him - and chooses to present as androgynous.
- Stormy was one of the first times Shaun felt cared about beyond what people wanted out of him. He loved her more than he ever loved himself. Losing her was like chopping out a piece of his heart and eating it directly in front of him, open wound still gushing. He didn’t ever really accept that she was gone.
- If we’re being completely honest, Shaun barely knows a thing about his brother beyond the basic bare minimum. Even though Michael was 8 and remembered a good bit about Shaun, it wasn’t the same with Shaun - he only knew information about Michael from the information his parents indulged him in. He didn’t understand that most of it had malicious intent behind it and grew up firmly believing Michael was a danger to their family. But even so, he still chose to pick him up from the hospital.
- All sad headcanons aside, Shaun would definitely love Sonic the Hedgehog, and if anyone got any information about it incorrect, he’d probably start mansplaining the topic to them in a very condescending voice. “No, no, Shadow matches Sonic’s speed, but Sonic is significantly better at making that speed, allowing him to close the gap in between them. But Shadow is definitely not weak.”
- He’d really enjoy RPG games and lore-filled world building. Environments like that intrigue him, and in a way allow him to indulge in escapism.
