Hey! I was wondering if you had thoughts on wendigoon? I have been watching his videos lately and he mentioned matpat in his fnaf episode (I found out later after trying to watch the video that fnaf's creator is transphobic). So, transphobic references x2. I am basically on the fence about wendigoon bc he hasn't said anything specifically on the other videos I've seen... idk I was wondering if you had thoughts on this. well... i don't watch him. so i don't have much or any comment on his work or videos. but i'd probably start with the name/branding he has going on. He profits off of indigenous culture/folklore by selling plushes of the creature in its image. The creature is used to represent (from what i've been told) native americans being displaced and their people being horribly mistreated by colonizers. It's representitve of trauma. Knowing what i know from natives in this community and outside of it, it feels extra gross and anti-indigenous, what he's doing.

Also turning a creature from indigenous folklore into a 'quirky username' is kind of 😬😬

i would not really suggest him as a content creator to watch

Okay this is my actual last hot qsmp hot take. After lurking on the tumblr tag witnessing some reports of people on Twitter saying the Brazilians were too aggressive and disrespectful, and like.... anyone saying that just, has never seen or been in a debate.

Like I don't even think usamericans can hide behind any claims of having a different debate culture, cause I remember absolutely ripping into and getting brutally destroyed and interrupted and talked over and like actually aggressive debates from like...middle school tournaments...

anyone claiming the last debate was a mess is just a fool. That was one of the cleanest and respectful debates I've seen like ever. Even with the big language barrier and miscommunication, everyone did absolutely great moderating themselves tbh. The free debate was pretty fine all things considered.

im honestly all for the idea of repeating the tournament again and again after blacklisting the previous winner ajdbdjd i think that'd be funny but ofc only if you guys (gender neutral) have the time and energy for it! i know running a poll takes lots of time and effort and coordination so don't force yourselves! thanks for hosting this one 🫶🏼🫶🏼 im really stoked to see the rarepairs others have submitted and to campaign for the ones i did 😌

Honestly I wouldn't mind repeating the tournament, although we'd need to come up with mechanics... I feel like it could be boring to have the same VS everytime, especially since we did get a lot of submissions.

I fear that randomizing the spots wouldn't do much because the same pairs would be on top, and it'd still end up repetitive.

I think the best option may be to do several tournaments with different pairings, so people get to focus on a few at a time.

I'll discuss this more with the other mod, but I'd be curious to hear your opinions on this, so feel free to send an ask!
