Ok, so, In Sound Mind is an amazing game and you should definitely play it if you think you’d like it. So I’m gonna be posting a lot about it because I finished it and it’s super good.

So let’s start with what it is.

It’s a psychological survival horror indie game with a soundtrack by The Living Tombstone (‘you should’ve picked Mercy’ guy). If you’ve played any persona game, then it’s like if that was survival horror. It has some really cool ‘monster designs,’ that are like symbolic and stuff.

Anyways, you play Desmond Wales, a therapist who wakes up in the basement of your building. As you start to explore, you realize that the world isn’t quite what it seems, and you begin investigating the situations of your patients (one died, one is in a coma, and two are missing). While they at first seem unrelated, a large narrative and conspiracy starts to unravel.

Besides Persona, it’s also like the comic Monstermind, if you’ve ever read that. That one is a comedy, but it’s kinda the same concept. It’s also good, so maybe check it out if you like anthropomorphizations of mental illnesses/concepts. Also, Dimension 20’s mentopolis.

Quick note, Tlt didn’t do the sound design, he just made 6 incredible songs for the game.

EDIT: So apparently he did do the entire soundtrack, I think. I’m 90% sure he did, maybe with some help from the sound design team at We Create Stuff. But the whole ost on Spotify, and it says that he’s the author. On the other hand, the credits had some for sound design (at least I think I remember seeing that, I wasn’t paying super close attention)

It’s made by this small indie company called We Create Stuff. It seems to be their first foray into an original IP that is a full game with a narrative and stuff. They have other games, but they’re not necessarily “games.” That mean. If you check out their website, you’ll see what I mean. They have other games, but In Sound Mind is their first game game.

Anyways, I’ll get more in depth in later posts, but we’ll end here rn because no spoilers.

C’est un jeu de casse tête du style démineur. Une fois n’est pas coutume, le game design a été fait par Alexis Moroz avec qui je collabore régulierement.

Since Jukebox Vinyl was established, they participated in different projects, such as cooperating with different toy artists and telling their stories behind the scenes. As some of you may know, Monstermind Toys is one of the local artists that has worked closely with them over the journey. This time they are thrilled to collaborate with Monstermind Toys and to involve in the production of a new theme, the Real Eye Basara series, featuring their favorite elements, i.e. Samurais and Ghosts together with the flavor of Japanese Sengoku history. History tells stories and through Jukebox Vinyl, they would like to tell you the stories of their favorite Shoguns and Sengoku characters.

Among all of the Japanese history, The Sengoku Period (AD 1467 - 1600 roughly) is definitely their favorite. The Sengoku period markets a turning point in this history of Japan. During this period of wars and internal strife, the power of Shoguns (aka Generals) was weakened and passed into the hands of different local warlords (Daimyo, 大名,) that has their own clans.. It's also a period of cultural evolution and revolution, where Zen influenced the culture in a feudalism system, and Westerners were first introduced into the country, bringing in new food, technology and beliefs. In short, there are just so many characters with different personalities and stories that Jukebox Vinyl would like to tell you. So stay tuned!
