A few snippets of what probably would’ve happened if the Doctor and Belinda broke the fourth wall into my living room instead of the three artificial fans on the show:
Me: *hyperventilating at the sudden appearance of fictional characters*
The Doctor: Miss, are you okay?
Me: Don’t worry, I’m- *more hyperventilating*
The Doctor: Is there anything I can do to-
Me: LUNGBARROW! You’re from house Lungbarrow and you had a robot dog called K9 and a granddaughter called Susan who you abandoned with only one shoe, and you’re a Time Lord except you’re not because Chibnall gave you a convoluted backstory. And you’re the Doctor, except you’re not real but right now you are and your new companion who will presumably die in an awful way - sorry for the spoiler Belinda - is here too and I’M ON TV and I have so many questions because I can’t afford the Big Finish audiobooks and I can’t find the novels or comics so I want to know everything.
The Doctor: …Can I sit down? I think I have more questions than you do.
————————————————————————
Me: So you’re from this show called Doctor Who…
The Doctor: Doctor WHAT?
Me: No, please, that’s a very old joke.
————————————————————————
The Doctor: …What do you MEAN I married my daughter?
Me: Well, technically, the daughter of one Doctor married a Doctor who she met in an episode where she was playing the Doctor’s daughter, and then she went on to actually have the Doctor’s daughters. It’s simple really.
————————————————————————
Me (holding up a picture of every single Master incarnation): Tell me the truth, now.
The Doctor: I’m not sure what you…
Me: Don’t fuck with me Doctor, answer the question. Smash. Or. Pass?
————————————————————————
The Doctor: Do you have any advice for me and Belinda on how to defeat Lux?
Me: Well it’s easy enough, he’s clearly a one episode villain and you can already hear the non-diegetic music for some reason which I’m sure will be expanded upon later, so I’d just wait for some inspiring music to play and you should know what to do. If all else fails just do something clever and high-tech, and run around a lot.
Belinda: Will the running help?
Me: You’re new - love you as a companion by the way - but trust me, you’ll learn that the running absolutely helps.
————————————————————————
Me: So like, if I give you my number, could your TARDIS lock onto my coordinates when you’re back in the tv show world and come get me?
The Doctor: I mean, that’s not really my top concern right now because fifteen people have gone missing and countless lives could be in danger-
Me: I know, they always are, but could you come back for me?
The Doctor: You seem nice but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to.
Me: …Alright, I’ll invoke the name. The name that always spurs you on and gets your brain going.
The Doctor: What name?
Me: Doctor, do what you couldn’t do for… Rose Tyler.
————————————————————————
The Doctor: What’s your favourite episode?
Me: You know, I could tell you, but I feel like I’d bring up loads of trauma that you’re still trying to work through because my favourites are the ones where you go through a lot of stuff.
The Doctor: Is there an episode you like where I don’t end up devastated?
Me: A few, but they involve people that you lost in tragic ways and I don’t want to upset you by mentioning any names, like Bill Potts for instance.
Belinda: Okay, just how many girls have died with the Doctor?
Me: A few, but they’re mostly alright, they always cheat eternal death or painful deaths because kids watch Doctor Who too and it would devastate children to see their favourite character be brutally murdered… thinking about it, adults like me don’t take it well either, I’m still upset about Clara Oswald.
The Doctor: So am I.
———————————————————————
Me: Whilst it’s an honour to meet you and I’m so excited to get the chance to chat to you both, out of all of the Doctor Who fandoms - Whovians to be more specific - I don’t think I’m the most deserving person to receive such an amazing visit.
The Doctor: What do you mean?
Me: Look, all I’m saying is that if you somehow end up back in my universe, remember the name Peter Capaldi, pop up in his living room in the TARDIS. I think he’d actually lose his mind, but he probably would be impossible to get out of the TARDIS because he played you once and I think he’s just lying in wait for his chance to get back on set, the man’s watched every single episode and probably knows more about you than you know about yourself.
The Doctor: Should I be scared that he knows so much about me?
Me: Probably, yes.
————————————————————————
Me: There’s one thing I’ve always wondered, Doctor. It’s common knowledge that your nickname was Theta Sigma, but if you don’t mind me asking, and because it literally won’t leave this room to anyone important, what’s your actual birth name?
The Doctor: I’m so glad you asked! Nobody ever really asks for my actual name, of course Doctor is my name now since people have called me that for years, but my parents called me-
*The laws of Doctor Who immediately portal the Doctor and Belinda back to their own universe*
Me: Somehow I knew something like that would happen.

spoilers ep 5
im still working on the rest of the episode but heres my preliminary takes on the teen van/tai scene in the first third. basically no proofreading ; mostly just vibes ; real analysis will come later expanding on all of this.
Van I love you thank you for taking care of tai during this. Normally I must read fanfiction for this part <3
Tais trying so hard. Shes got it too. Shes a good shot, it’s easy at that range but her form is good and shes steady. But she just cant quite get herself to do it. Tai is entirely fine with the hypothetical or the in theory portion of everything theyre doing in the wilderness - but really struggles with the reality. it was at this moment I said ‘when her cortisol gets high enough other tai will take over just let her gets stressed about it and she’ll be fine’ so when van said it too?? Van you’ve just gone up in my estimations luv you pls keep taking care of tai <33
‘Whatever its a stupid tree its not our coach’ anyways other tai is symbolic of the teams cognitive dissonance and if you ever see me theorizing about the camp not being how they are seeing it I only ever mean it in a ‘theyre so deep in cognitive dissonance they aren’t seeing things for what they really are and are making them a bit better’ and not a theyre hallucinating way. Very similar to how other tai just takes over and takes care of tai when tai cant handle things. (Which is also why friend tai is no longer in state senate - OTHER TAI WAS THE ONE RUNNING please pay attention to tai tawny makes it so obvious and yall just miss shit sometimes with her and I really do have to resist making the accusation but like y’all are doing the thing!!!!) and ways I digress ill press play again I could and would like to at some point write a dissertation on tai shes going in the Clara Oswald pile.
“Us no me” UGH I love tai. Tai is the one that has to do it. No matter what. Van just has to watch her. But , at the same time, van has to deal with tai, help tai. Van is making it about themself but is also realistically the only thing keeping tai functional through it all. Its all very interesting character dynamics that is too long to type out fully for this im putting a pin in it to come back to later ~~~~~~~
What If I miss into then he’ll really want to die into what Shaunahat did…. Yeah… foreshadowing to the max there. BUT its not on tai so thats nice thanks Shauna
“You’re not gonna miss’ and she didn’t <33 (honestly thought travis died at the end of the ep there I was so taken aback)
“He tried to murder us in our sleep tai” but I swear van looks unsure. Van doesnt even seem to believe van. As discussed in the tawny scene; I think van knows other tai too well. and is questioning it here as well. Which is why van follows up with ‘you still think hes guilty right?’ - the whole bit isnt out of the blue - van is now worried it was tai, and so is gently interrogating to make sure tai doesnt just happen to remember doing it. As long as neither of them know, pretending it wasn’t tai is very easy. But it doesnt shake the worry, not entirely.
Before I press play again. Omg I love taissa.
I just love this scene. Feels like the thesis of the season tbh.
Van palmer you genius you. Yes lets teach tai how to summon other tai that cant go wrong at all nope not at all ( I would have done the exact same thing im just worried the consequences are well ; biscuit )
Now also though - why isnt tai sleepwalking ? Because they aren’t in danger anymore. Nat is leading them well, they are safe. As we shift into Shauna leading, I expect we will see other tai more. Just a higher stress environment when miss angry bubble is in charge (not slander just facts)
Also I love how hesitant tai was about it - also it gets s okay and cute omg I love wlw ; ‘yeah’ oh van you are so whipped I love it (me too)
Y’all still ofc tai is the bottom and van is the top ; tai likes to feel safe - therefore tai likes control - therefore tai likes to be around all of that - but tai is also a little sweetie who , once again, likes to feel safe. And van makes her feel safe. Safe enough to not be in control. To not be the one with the power. To be the bottom. this isnt even sub plot this is just tais personality.
Interesting that other tai also uses she/her pronouns think this is the first time we have confirmation on what other this pronouns are just taking note to remember.
Love that the order of operations is 1) listen to trees 2) fuck 3) kill a bunny. These two
<333 love them
Its so funny tai even tried to take control but vans like no let me take care of you shush
Tai is so fucking funny I would have done the same babes. Mildly disappointed van took so long to realize it was a joke but its because van wanted it to work so I can let it slide
The little hair fix omg I love them so much cutest couple
Oh my poor tai you handled this part so well
Poor bunny though
Thought tai was gonna fuck up killing the bunny with how they held the shot ngl
The wilderness seemed to like the bunny moment but it didn’t work to get other tai - thinking its two entirely separate situational things.
Then it cuts to Lottie still teaching the breathing ooh editing team I see you

Prompt: Clara Oswald discovers her braided wig that she once wore back when she and 12 went to visit Robin Hood among a chest of drawers. She puts it on and shows the Doctor, who is utterly mesmerized and lovestruck by how the wig enhances her beauty.
"Think fast."
The Doctor had milliseconds to react, his hands coming up into a vaguely defensive position as he anticipated an attack of some kind, but instead he found himself snagging a tangle of brown hair from mid-air and frowning at it in consternation, attempting to work out if it was in some way dangerous.
"Why have you thrown your hair at me?" he asked Clara as she descended the steps from the upper level of the console room, grinning as she approached. "Why isn't it on your head? Did you get bored again? We've talked about that. No sharp objects when you're bored."
"You're not exactly in a position to talk. Remember the shaved head and the rocket fins?"
"Remember who therefore managed to smuggle a TARDIS key past Tasha Lem."
Clara grimaced, wrinkling her nose, and he knew he'd won; as he appraised her, he realised abruptly that her hair appeared to still be on her head, and that this was therefore some kind of wig. "Alright, you can have that one."
"Why am I holding your hair?"
"It's from when we met Robin Hood," she said, taking it from him and shaping it with her hands until it vaguely resembled the hairstyle he recalled from Nottingham. "I found it in the wardrobe."
"You were meant to be-"
"Finding an outfit for the coronation, I know. I got sidetracked."
"Clearly," he couldn't help but feel a lingering stab of discomfort at the memory of their time with Robin; he recalled with absolute clarity the terrible, agonising few moments in which he'd thought her dead.
"Don't be like that," Clara rolled her eyes, misinterpreting his silence. "Don't get all green-eyed."
"I'm not green-eyed," he assured her, mostly truthfully; perhaps some resentment lingered at her absolute giddiness around Robin. "Just remembering how it felt to watch you die."
There was a beat of silence, and then she wrapped her arms around him, and he let out a long breath, relaxing into her embrace.
"Sorry," she mumbled, as he extricated an arm and reciprocated the hug. "Should've thought. Not planning on dying any time soon though. Promise."
"I'll hold you to that."
"You can sue me if I do. Inflicting emotional distress."
"Deal."

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. spread the self-love ❤
Ahhhh I love this!!
Gonna go with:
For Loving One Father Fell has been living a quiet life in a small parish. Despite the looming fear of war, he thought he was content with his small pleasures. Until a mysterious stranger comes to town, turning that life on its head and awakening desires the Father thought he buried long, long ago...
as my top fave thing I've ever written to date. I put a lot of thought and research and heart into this one and the response has been overwhelmingly wonderful <33
The Rest is Silence Aziraphale’s mouth is busy sucking lewd bruises into Crowley’s lean inner thigh. His thick fingers knead at the tight muscles as they flex, slung over his broad shoulders. The bulge below his waist presses insistently, uncomfortably, at the seam of his trousers. But it is an afterthought, a mere distraction.
This Verse is one of the most painful things I've written and I adore how it turned out... plus of course @quona bringing it so gorgeously to life in art!!
Covenant Gold didn't know why she'd come that first day. Boredom. Curiosity, maybe. It wasn't just to lure the eyes of pious men or else she wouldn't have made her way to his confessional, filled his burning ears with her filthy secrets. He'd sent her away with a stern admonishment and enough Hail Marys to keep her dirty mouth occupied until the next Sunday service.
And then she returned. Week after week. Another barely appropriate dress, another crimson lipped smile, another session on that wooden bench. Her sweet, liquor-scented voice filling the closed-in space, ripe with new temptations.
This fic poured out of me almost fully formed and I still love the turns of phrase, the poetry turned prose, the simple weight of it... a single but significant moment suspended in time, overflowing with meaning.
Personal Assistance Clara Oswald leaves behind teaching to enter the world of British politics. What better way to make a splash than by working for the infamous Malcolm Tucker? And if discovering a (mutual) attraction happens to catch them both off-guard.... well, that's just life, right?
Another fic stuffed with hours of work and love and google searching, lol. I lived and breathed Malcolm Tucker for a few months. Which is... an experience.
To Tell the Truth Whouffaldi moments woven between episodes. Mostly canon-compliant.
My top kudos-ed fic ever and though I know we don't do it just for the kudos, it feels good to have my ideas so seen and loved by this niche DW ship <3

🤖🖥️Scrina = ISFJ🩹🩵
Her first impression can already be mistaken for Ni-Fe (INFJ), however through out the game play character analysis I realized that this isn’t likely;
- Scrina shows feelings of remorse, guilt and/or longing. Just by the torment and yearning to break free and see her maternal figure again, after five years.[ Dominant Si -> Aux Fe + Melancholy ]
- She vents her frustration and dread towards the player/Olivia, though she did not know she was hurting her during the game. [ Secondary Melancholic(?) ]
- Unsure if her intelligence is even evident, however it’s fitting that Scrina can sometimes be informational when it comes to her knowledge about things or the possible use of “common sense”. [ Dominant Si -> Tert Ti (?) ]
- No signs of intuition, hints of ideas, nor inventive/inspirational, despite being with her for longest. But it depends and it’s up to the upcoming game. [ Inferior Ne ]
- She’s managed to be mostly serious or calm, yet she’s used like a dog so there’s emotional or temperamental development… Poor girl. [ Phlegmatic + Melancholy ]
- Due to rather unpredictable situations she longs and looks for trust, despite her mistreatment from everyone. Except Asmodena and later on Olivia when they appear in Alex realm. [ Social + Enneagram 6]
- She is forced to do as Alex commanded in assertive ways to the point she had to do what she must. And knowing it can lead to consequences despite the cruelty, she remains under his control and pressure. [ Self Peservation + Enneagram 1 ]
- Although hostile to the player but mistreated, she’d probably try to take a like just by providing anything she can as long as it’s pleased. [ Gut Enneagram 2 ]
Conclusion:
ISFJ “The Defender”|| 6w5 - SO/SP - 612 || Phlegmatic-Melancholic || RCOAI
Tumblr media
Scrina is an ISFJ, “The Defender” Type.
Anyone with an ISFJ personality type are quite honest, caring and lawful people to be with. In strength they can be very hardworking, patient and loyal, but they often can be shy, take a lot of criticism and would bottle up of what they feel.
(Introverted, Observant/Sensing, Feeling, Judging)
As 6w5 The loyalist; Social 6 serves as her way of trusting anyone else in hopes they will help her. As according to studies, Enneagram 6 in an early stage go through an unpredictable situation, and would end up not believing such instinct or intention of trusting someone.
Wing 5 shows practicality and carefulness, so having SP1 shows exactly that. As there was already an idea of SP1 (*Which is in Dolly’s Profile), by core she tries to perfect what she can’t do, doing orders and duties but in the end suffers from all of these demands.
Enneagram 2 are generous, caring and supportive. 2s are quite like 1s but by polarity they are charitable and outgoing. It just so happens to be Scrina’s gut since 2s are represented as people-pleasers, valuing other needs instead of theirs.
Although pessimism was expressed from Scrina throughout the game, it’s blatant if this was her dominant temper. Not to mention her mom/sis is practically melancholic, but strongly not confirmed just yet. She seemed very phlegmatic to be melancholic, but grief is more of a secondary function just for missing her loved one.
Finishing off Reserved; for her introversion, Calm; for her turbulence, and Organized. Accomodating as she’s cooperative, greatly authentic of her own character. And lastly, Inquisitive since she’s more of a resourceful type of individual to listen.
Other Notes/Trivia:
It’s likely she’s an INTP “The Logician” or an ESFJ “The Consul”
It’s also likely she’s Phlegmatic rather than Phlegmatic-Melancholic.

Hi! If this is alright to share, I'd like to give a reworked and updated version of my old submitted OC Skyler Harkness, the child of Jack and Jenny I weaved into your Alex Locke universe. If you just wanna delete it, that's completely fine ofc
TW for death, addiction and abuse (i project onto my ocs)
Name: Kai Alex Harkness (legally changed from Jasmine Gwen Harkness)
Age: 21 physically, 112 chronologically
Gender identity: Non binary
Pronouns: they/them or he/him
Father: Javic Piotr Thane/Captain Jack Harkness
Mother: Jenny Martha Harkness née Noble
Siblings: Jonathan "Johnny" Gray Harkness (older brother)
Appearance: 5'7 with short, messy brown hair, a lean and muscular frame, built for speed and agility over strength. Dark hazel eyes
Aliases: Kai uses a variety of aliases when needed, such as:
- Dr Jamie Noble (used when meeting The Doctor and Alex in The God Complex, the first time The Doctor and Alex met their grandson)
- Ianto Jones (used when posing as Alex and The Doctor's nephew in "The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe)
- Grayson Tyler (used when applying as The 12th Doctor's assistant at St Luke's University)
- Jackson Pond (used when first meeting Graham, Grace, Ryan, and Yaz)
- Skyler Smith (used when with the 14th Doctor, meeting Donna and Rose Noble)
Personality: Mostly coming across as snarky and sarcastic, Kai uses jokes to distract and disarm people. Kai can be flirty but is also defensive over actually having a relationship due to a previously very abusive boyfriend. At their core, Kai is a brave and loyal defender of the universe, but unlike The Doctor is open about their cunning and ruthless edge, being much more willing than their grandfather to use weapons and take lives.
Abilities: Various Time Lord abilities, mid level psychic abilities, immortality, enhanced physiology
Skills: Hand-to-hand combat, gymnastics, advanced weapons training, mechanical genius, skilled pilot, mechanic genius, vast knowledge of the universe, gymnastics, skilled artist and sketcher
Who they like better: Kai's always been their dad's kid through and through. Jack was the 2nd person Kai came out to after their brother Johnny. Jack was also there for Kai after Kai confessed that their boyfriend became horribly abusive. Jack gave them weapons training after that incident to help them heal. Despite that, Kai is still very close to their mother, Jenny encouraged their gymnastics and cooking hobbies and gave Kai hand to hand training and helped with their Time Lord abilities.
Despite closeness to their parents, Kai goes to Johnny if they need a hug, knowing their brother never questions why Kai needs to be held but just accepting they do. Kai looks up to Johnny, and they came out to him first.
Who they take after more: Kai takes after Jenny more. They lean into their mother's daredevil personality and share her love of adventure and exploration. Kai's a genius, prefering to spend their time in a workshop or off adventuring through space and time, living by their grandfather's quote of "Not impossible just a bit unlikely."
Kai does share some personality traits with Jack and Johnny as well as The Doctor and Alex. Like Jack, Kai is a flirt and openly so, even flirting with people older than them like Missy and Clara Oswald. Like The Doctor, Kai shares a love for life and a desire to protect the innocents. And like Alex, Kai is highly protective of their loved ones and isn't afraid to call people out, even calling out The 11th Doctor on his hypocrisy the first time The Doctor met them.
Weaknesses:
- PTSD (their ex-boyfriend was physically, verbally, and sexually abusive)
- Extreme fear of The Weeping Angels due to them losing their childhood best friend to them
- Fear of The Pantheon of Discord, despite setting themself against The Pantheon
- Anxiety
- Arrogance (Kai has some of The Doctor's arrogance in his intelligence)
- Alcoholism
- Cigarette addiction
Story: Kai was born as Jasmine Gwen Harkness, in Bristol Kentucky, on October 16th 2011, to Captain Jack and Ms Jenny Harkness. Jenny had wanted her parents in attendance and The Doctor and Alex settled down in Bristol while Jenny was in the last months of her pregnancy.
Jasmine grew up into a remarkable young child, making a friend in her first year of school called Isabella "Izzy" Harper. The two became very close, and at age 13, Izzy was the first person to know that Jasmine was now Kai and was also Kai's first kiss. Tragically, Isabella would die less than a year later. The young couple were walking home when Izzy noticed a strange statue that hadn't been there previously.
Before Kai could react, Izzy blinked and the statue, now revealed as a Weeping Angel, struck, sending Izzy into the past. Kai tricked the angel into standing in front of a reflective window, trapping the creature before running home and collapsing in grief and pain at the loss of their girlfriend.
This tragic event led to Kai falling into a self destructive spiral, leading to a teen life of drinking and a relationship with a much older boy named Elijah Jackson that turned horribly abusive, which ended after Elijah forced himself on Kai and Johnny caught him. The now 16 year old Kai went back to therapy and put in their effort, allowing themselves to heal.
Kai graduated top of their class and way beyond any human, having used The TARDIS library and knowledge from The TARDIS to learn about starship piloting and upkeep, hundreds of alien languages and intergalactic engineering. They were given a variety of gifts by their family, which included a Vortex Manipulator that Kai used to start exploring the universe, finding themselves frequently pulled off course and into their grandparents adventures.
Kai used the knowledgeable, morals, values and lessons their parents, many godparents, brother, aunt and grandparents taught them to set themselves against tyranny and evil in the universe, battling Daleks, Cybermen, Rutans, Zygons and The Sycorax.
While travelling, Kai found themselves coming into contact with The Pantheon of Discord again and again, battling The Trickster, The Mara and Lux Imperator within 2 years of each other. Deciding they needed knowledge, Kai spent 50 years learning everything they could about The Pantheon, becoming the foremost expert on The Gods of Chaos.
One of the times Kai was pulled into their grandparents adventures, they found themselves on a prison ship, disguised as a hotel, finding it incredibly weird seeing their grandparents before their wedding and even weirder when Alex and The Doctor looked right through them and didn't trust them. Kai proved The Doctor's future trust in them, revealing they knew the number of children on Galifrey the day The Time War ended
Equipment:
- Vortex Manipulator (doubles as a teleport and scanner)
- Perception filter ring
- Bio dampner ring
- Squareness gun
- Compact laser deluxe
- Sonic pen
- Laser screwdriver
- TARDIS key (Doctor's TARDIS)
- TARDIS (stolen from The Monk)
Titles: The Enemy of The Pantheon, Child of Time, Host of Midnight (formerly), Captain of UNIT's supernatural threat squad
Faceclaim: Elliot Fletcher

Doctor Who
my favourite female character: donna noble, i don't really use the term comfort character but if i did she'd be real high up on the list. when i was a kid she reminded me a lot of one of my older sisters so there was kind of instant attachment there, but i also just love her in her own right. i love her compassion & humour & platonic dynamic with the doctor, i love how selfless she is and how brave (she was literally willing to throw herself between the doctor and death the day she met him in that racnoss scene - "you won't hurt him" "donna, it's okay" "no, i won't let them" - when she had very little reason at that point to do so) my favourite male character: the tenth doctor, i've loved david tennant since i was a lil kid so this is the easy answer. sometimes i'll almost say someone else and then i realise that any episode with ten in it is enjoyable for me, he's what brings me back to watching his seasons over and over again three other favourite characters: simm!master (i miss him so bad), the twelfth doctor (also very much a case of 'loved this actor since i was little'), and, hm. i'm actually gonna go with yasmin khan, i have yet to watch a bunch of her episodes (i kinda fell off during twelve's era and haven't caught up yet minus a few one-off special episodes) but i really like what i've seen of her my least favourite character: it used to be clara oswald, she just never clicked with me and i found the whole "impossible girl who'd actually saved every single iteration of the doctor before" eyeroll-worthy, but after thinking about it no it's nardole. annoying mf my otp: doctor/master, my favourite iteration is ten/simm (mostly because i find it tiring that as soon as it got textually romantic they keep making it m/f because they're cowards) but i'm fond of every combination honestly my notp: i do not like clara/doctor the character i'm most like: oooh. hm. maybe rory williams? passive, more or less chill with just going along with what the person i love wants to do, protective when it comes down to it, aiming for a career that revolves around helping people, not a fan of conflict favourite episode/season: series 4! doctor & donna supermacy! favourite episode would probably be the end of time (that's a two parter but i'm counting it). it gave me simm!master in eyeliner what can i do saddest character death: do regenerations count? bc ten. donna's initial exit also destroyed me even though that wasn't really a death. i guess bill doesn't count either. man all the shit i'm sad about aren't really deaths most attractive character: ten from the men ('men'), clara or martha from the women
send me a fandom !

Weekend Top Ten #612
Top Ten Doctor Who Companions (2005-2023)
Happy 60th Birthday, Doctor Who! Yep, technically it was Thursday 23rd but Who’s counting, eh? The Doctor is now Bus Pass Age, not a bad achievement for someone who’s either 900, 1200, or over two billion years old, depending on how you’re working it out. Timey-wimey and all that.
To celebrate the anniversary of what is probably my favourite British TV show (just pipped at the post, I’d say, by The West Wing, classic Simpsons, and maybe – depending on my mood – Star Trek: The Next Generation) I’ve decided to look at that essential component of Doctor Who-ness, the Companion. The companions are great, because the Doctor is almost unknowable; an ancient cosmic being who has all sorts of weird powers and capabilities, who’s seen and done so much. It’s not just the two hearts and the time travel; they’re frankly weird, at times sage and wise, other times naïve and childlike. So the companion is our point-of-view, our entry-level look at the universe; they’re also a great leveller, bringing out the Doctor’s best qualities and humanising them. And, frankly, they serve that Watson function of allowing a brilliant character who knows everything to exposition all over somebody; they’re there to get talked at.
But, of course, the Companions are so much more, helping to bring Doctor Who to life in untold ways; they can be the heart and soul of the show, the even if a new companion comes in with a familiar Doctor, the dynamic can change enormously. Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor is very different with Bill Potts than he is with Clara Oswald, for instance; and Ten’s relationship with Rose was unique despite David Tennant sharing the TARDIS with several other people.
Now, whilst I did watch Who when I was a kid, I didn’t really get into it properly till the 2005 reboot; so, to keep things simple, I’m just going to focus on companions who’ve been in the show since then. Sorry, Ace! I love ya! But I don’t feel I can parse my Sarah Janes from my Bonnie Langfords with particular grace. Also, I needed to define exactly what a companion was; I settled on someone who travelled with the Doctor across multiple episodes, with the intention of remaining in the TARDIS. So this meant I had to, very sadly, discount River Song; she’s a guest star, and obviously a huge part of the Doctor’s life and Moffat’s grand over-arching storyline, but I don’t think she was ever a for-real in-TARDIS capital-C Companion. Captain Jack, on the other hand, did remain on Team TARDIS for a few episodes before buggering off to Cardiff. So he counts.
Anyway, enough waffle; let’s light up our sonics and celebrate.
Tumblr media
Amy Pond (Karen Gillan, 2010-2012/13): feisty, funny, and flirty, Amy wasn’t a wide-eyed naif nor a grumpy sourpuss, but a someone who was just really enjoyable to watch. Her chemistry with her Doctor is some of the best in the series, but it was the stories that put Amy through the wringer – from a universe-defying romance to an impossible baby – that made her so compelling, and the deft way Gillan responded to the outlandish, hilarious, and ultimately tragic events. There was something about her performance right from the off; we were watching a movie star born before our eyes.
Donna Noble (Catherine Tate, 2006/08-2010/23): prior New-Who companions had mostly been besotted with the Doctor; Donna was pissed off by him. A human who saw the very alien nature of the Time Lord, she was often his conscience – such as in the episode The Fires of Pompeii – but chiefly Donna will be remembered for the humour she brought to the role. Tate was a tremendous comic double act with Tennant, and it’s going to be very exciting to see them together again.
Rose Tyler (Billie Piper, 2005-2006/08/10/13): a companion so important that the very first episode of the rebooted show was named after her. She was the show, arguably the main character in that first season; a woman from humble origins who was destined to change the galaxy. Her growing feelings for the Doctor – especially when he regenerated into David Tennant – were subtly drawn, but in so many ways Piper defined what a modern companion should and could be. So iconic they brought her back for the Fiftieth as a different character cosplaying Rose Tyler.
Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie, 2017): a bit of a milestone in Who history as the first queer female companion and only, I believe, the second woman of colour. Her dynamic with the Doctor was different to what came before; there didn’t seem to be the deep spiritual connection, but she was a funnier, more free-wheeling sort, who loved the adventurous life among the stars. She got to have her own mini-tragic-romance play out over the series, and was the centrepiece of storylines dealing with race and gender politics. A great companion, sadly underused.
Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman, 2012-2015/17): a companion who suffered a little bit with some flakier plots and character arcs, which is a shame as Coleman is a great actor who had terrific chemistry with two different Doctors, and very different relationships with them, too. A kindly soul with a fun spirit who masked a steely core, she was excellent in the anniversary special The Day of the Doctor.
Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill, 2010-2012): wow, the first bloke on the list. Mr. Pond is just, well, really nice; a massively nice guy. His total love for Amy is such a beautiful thing, spanning eons (he waits for her for two thousand years!). It’s uncomplicated but strong and fiery, and yet he’s totally trusting. He knows he’s the second fiddle in the relationship, forever overshadowed by his brilliant wife, yet he remains unthreatened and trusting and supportive. Plus, rather nicely, they fancy the pants off each other, so their fate – Amy choosing to be trapped forever in the past with him – is utterly believable. A great guy!
Jack Harkness (John Barrowman, 2005-2011/20-21): I’m a bit squiffy putting him on the list because Barrowman is, well, a touch problematic. However, Captain Jack was a great character, injecting a huge does of sex to the usually straightlaced Who. A phenomenal space-flirt who’d “how you doin’” every biped he came across (steady), he was fun in a wartime greatcoat. Torchwood gave him added depth and complexity. I imagine it’s unlikely we’ll see him again for some time, although I suppose he’s no Mickey Smith.
Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill, 2018-2022): New-Who had done variations on the “companion loves the Doctor” story, but this was the first one to give it a queer lens, without any sensationalising. In a crowded set of companions, Yaz was always the stand out: young, funny, with a great family to draw on, but the smarts and steel of a police background. Sadly – like many characters in that era – she didn’t really get the strength of story to justify her character, and as groundbreaking and well-handled as the developing romance was, it likewise fizzled out to nothing.
Graham O’Brien (Bradley Walsh, 2018-2021/22): most companions are young a sprightly; Graham was a resolute old duffer who provided a nice amount of grandfatherly charm and twinkle to such a propulsive show. You got the sense that Walsh was loving every minute of it; and whether he was just easier to write for, or Walsh was just a more experienced performer, he did the best out of some weaker scripts, always shining and giving the show a lot of comedic pep.
Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman, 2007-2008/10): coming after Rose was a huge ask, but Martha delivered a nice twist by falling in unrequited love with the Doctor, a thread of tragedy running through her whole arc and giving it steel. She was also just really capable and heroic throughout, even as her Doctor became an angrier, more bitter character, weighed down by his losses. She got to fight the Master! When the Doctor got turned into Dobby the House Elf! She’s badass!
Edit: now with fixed formatting! I went back in time and did it. Yay.

part two: questionnaire.
001. the professor provides every member of libertalia a unique codename that reflects their personality. each codename is derived from various forms of mythology, folklore, or literature. why do you think the professor chose that name for you? do you agree or disagree with his decision?
a smirk tugs at her lips, before she takes the screwdriver from where it’d been held between her teeth. “so van helsing, right? infamous vampire hunter, the character practically immortalized due to more recent works making him out to be this action hero. when in reality he was so much more, as written in bram stoker’s dracula. a philosopher, doctor, lawyer, professor, metaphysist…but most importantly, a scientist. i guess my background in science, philosophy and dabbling in metaphysics gave way to my codename. and honestly i enjoy it.”
002. gaining an invitation into libertalia isn’t an easy feat. what do you think made you special enough to get handpicked by the professor? and what qualities do you think allowed you to join your position?
"i feel like i'm going to sound like a right arse for answering this, talking all high and mighty of myself." she snorts, leaning forward in her chair. "but i digress. i'm fairly good at thinking on my feet, i was able to get my old crew out of some hairy situations with some on-the-spot concoctions. my engineering professor said i have a wild mechanical aptitude, which i figure helps me with a lot of what i do for the libertalia. whether that be reworking the weapons, coming up with a new way in or out, or just plain ole chemical engineering. my brain just has a way of working problems from multiple angles before landing on the best possible solutions."
003. the captain’s crew is the highest position at libertalia, they are the select few who are aware of the professor’s identity. do you desire to graduate to this level? if you’re already a member of the captain’s crew what motivated you to change your position?
“maybe one day, i think it would be fun to figure out the plans for the heists and such. that being said, i truly enjoy what i do. i wouldn't have gotten into, or stayed in this field of expertise if i didn't. so i suppose i'd miss making things go boom personally if i managed to move up the ladder to the captains."
004. although many members of libertalia don’t know each other’s personal lives, it’s rumored that many members came from suspicious backgrounds. who were you before joining and what was your life like prior?
"i feel like this is one of those questions you're not actually supposed to answer...or rather answer with 'i'm not at liberty to disclose that information." helsing smirks before waving her hand dismissively. "i'm kidding. i had my own crew i ran with, ever since i was 16 until i joined the libertalia. it was fun, they were essentially my second family. i flourished under them and i owe a lot of what i know about the criminal world to them. before that it was just a simple life in london with my parents and two older brothers, who i still keep in contact with. i mainly got into crime after a fire burned down the family bakery and we needed the money, ever since i've sent some back from whatever i make."
005. what was your primary motivation for joining libertalia? was it for the riches or for the thrill of adventure? or is there something else motivating you to continue working for the group? what do you hope to achieve?
"honestly? the thrill of adventure." she laughs. "i know! i know, it's cheesy. my old crew ran your run of the mill heists but the whole premise and mystery of libertalia really intrigued me. and so far i haven't been disappointed. riches are neither nor there, i love my job even more now than i did then. so if there's anything i hope to achieve out of all of this, it’s to continue to get better at what i do. and c'mon, finding henry avery's treasure? that'd be such an awesome thing to put on the hypothetical resume."
006. how would the other members describe you? would you consider yourself to be a team-player or do you prefer to work independently?
"100% a team player, even if i'm more of a 'tell me what you want done then let me do it in peace' type." helsing admits with a grin and shrug. "i'll do whatever i have to do to keep my team safe and make sure they get back in one piece, blow things up first and pay for the damages later. 9 times out of 10 you'll find cookies in my lab for when anyone swings by, i have an open door policy unless the 'do not disturb' sign is explicitly up."
007. libertalia is anonymous, therefore necessitates secrecy outside of the group. how do you balance your personal life outside of this, granted you have one? is there a clear separation between libertalia and your personal life?
"i feel like it's a bit of a cliché, but my family actually think i work for the british government." she rolls her eyes before laughing, holding her hands up in defense. "i'm serious! i have a friend who works at mi5 that i managed to convince into covering for me when i first got into my more shady work. they're in a lower level position, so if my parents call their office my friend will cover for me and let me know they called. we have a whole set up, real movie worthy. i have a few friends from outside of this business that i get together with. i'd say i keep my personal and libertalia life fairly separate, unless i get together with one of the crew outside of work."
008. henry avery’s treasure has been lost since 1695. even with the brightest minds on the case, all leads to find the treasure haven’t turned up. avery’s treasure is the professor’s white whale and after several years of searching, many believe the treasure ceases to exist. do you believe the treasure exists?
“sure, why not?” she mumbles, mouth quirking to the side. “we haven’t found any proof yet to suggest otherwise, so i feel it does exist. just because something’s been lost for such a long time, doesn’t mean that it changes it legitimacy. let’s just hope this white whale doesn’t kill us like ahab’s did him.”
009. do you trust the professor? do you trust the libertalia?
chewing on the end of a twizzler, helsing shrugs. “i trust everyone until they give me a reason not to. i find it’s almost easier that way. so far, neither the professor nor the libertalia have given me any reason to distrust them. so, until further notice, they have my full loyalty.”
part three: the biography;
jaya nadar grew up the daughter of two fairly basic london individuals — a history professor at oxford and a 4th generation bakery owner. two older brothers meant she had two protectors who also taught her how to take care of herself when they weren’t around. “you fight dirty,” rishi, the oldest, always told her “and never assume they’re going to fight fair.” she was a bit of a quirky scrapper growing up, and a nerdy one at that. meaning if the resident bully tried to take the lunch money off of one of her fellow nerds…she’d just take it right back, grinning as she’d hand it back, wiping the blood from her lips. her parents wanted her to make more friends, not that she lacked any...but the ones that she did probably weren't exactly the kind that they'd had in mind. after a science experiment unintentionally actually went right, jaya gained the attention of a crew looking for a new explosives expert. and she became it. she was 16 when she joined the crew, and they taught her everything else that she'd need to know to run with them; weapons proficiency, better tactics with explosives and chemical engineering, even mechanical skills that jaya took to easily. the crew stayed together up until 7 years ago, when the democratic way with which they ran started to fracture right in front of jaya's eyes. different ideas and point of views made them split, and jaya left broken hearted before it could (ironically) blow up in her face. that's when she got the call. she joined the libertalia in a heartbeat, not asking many questions because really, who wouldn't want to join a mysterious organization eh? she doesn't take herself too seriously, but she does everything in her power to be the best at what she does, for the sake of the rest of the group. she'll do whatever it takes to make sure they can get back in one piece, even if that means blowing things up first and paying for the damages later. 9/10 find her sitting upside down, with a screwdriver clutched between her teeth as she tinkers with a weapon or figures out an equation. she’s always experimenting and tinkering with the weapons, never wanting to fit the crew with any old equipment. she’s a good listener, witty, and a wicked shot. always been a plucky one, she'd prefer to go through a wall than jump over it and honestly does try to talk her way out of situations...but isn't afraid to resort to whatever tactics are necessary to help her coworkers or self out. also 10/10 will cook for you if you had a bad day okay.

Growing Up And Fallin' In Love
Pairing: Clara Oswald x Reader
Word Count: 2,639
Warnings: None
Summary: You turn up on Clara's classroom doorstep, coffee in hand and the request for an adventure. Clara can never say no to you, she loves you. That’s not something she’ll ever tell you though, not in the way it matters.
Request: 30 from Prompt List #1 with whoever strikes your fancy (maybe a companion)? 💜 (sorry if this is late, I have no concept of time math bb) Prompt: “I’ve been in love with you since we were kids.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clara drummed the end of her pen against her desk. It was sporadic, making uneven tones every time the small plastic canister met the wood. She was staring at one of her students papers, and, for the life of her, she couldn’t work out what on Earth the sentence was saying. It was one of the last papers she had to mark, and she wanted it done before the end of lunch, so she could finish the day on time.
But the words were a jumbled mess on the page.
She turned the page over, read through some of her notes – and, had she spelled ‘what’ with an ‘o’?
Furiously, Clara scribbled it out, making sure that she then spelled it correctly.
It looked bad, unprofessional, lazy. A mess of angry red lines denting her poor students paper. She pulled open a drawer, pawing for the correcting tape.
It wasn’t there.
She tried to remember where she had seen it last, when, depressingly, hauntingly, her mind went to the night before, when she had first started marking this paper. On the edge of her dining room table, with stacks of marking for different assignments ready and waiting.
And then to this morning, where, in her haste to pack up the table on her way to school, she had missed it. The bloody correction tape was still sitting on her dining room table, mocking her, even now.
Clara groaned and rubbed under her eyes, careful not to swipe at her mascara, and narrowed her eyes at the paper.
The words swam.
A different knock than her pen against the desk, softer, more rhythmic, jolted Clara out of her stupor. She looked up and saw you, leaning against her open classroom door; a tray holding two coffees in hand, and a warm smile on your face. “I don’t think glaring at that paper is going to help make it magically marked.”
Clara was sure the surprise on her face showed, judging by the way your smile turned a little smug. It was just… well, it was unusual that you would show up here, at her school. You didn’t work here, and it wasn’t a trip you made often. Lately, the most time you had spent together was when you were galivanting across time and space with the Doctor.
Which was a far cry from the days of when you both grazed your knees on cobblestone pathways as children, or blew up soufflé recipes time and time again.
Clara smiled back with as much energy as she could muster. She was glad to see you, it had been a long time, comparatively speaking. “It’s good to see you.”
You laughed. “I’m sure I’m a better sight for eyes than that paper, at least.”
She let her head fall in her hands, and let out another groan. “Don’t remind me. I’m just so tired, it’s like the word are rearranging themselves on the page. They aren’t making any sort of sense right now.”
You hummed, and suddenly there was a coffee right under Clara’s nose. She looked up again, and there you were, standing right above her, looking at her with delight. You had such an amazing smile, the kind that just seemed to brighten up the whole room.
Clara loved that smile.
“Sounds like you could use a break then,” You said. “Fancy a trip?”
She considered it for a moment. Running away with you to a nice park, or a café, and getting to spend some quality time with you. It was so rare, lately that Clara treasured every moment.
But she couldn’t She had a job to do, after all.
“So that’s what the coffee’s for, buying my love,” Clara mused, and she took a sip. It was perfect, like it always was when you ordered. You had never failed to forget Clara’s order,  even when she went through that phase of mixing different coffee syrups together. Hazelnut and mango were surprisingly nice together. “I’m in the middle of a school day Y/N, I can’t just leave.”
“Sure you can,” You then did a little arm wave. “Time travel.”
Clara’s heart fell a little. Ah, right.
You had been talking about a trip in the TARDIS – of course you had been talking about a trip in the TARDIS. You wouldn’t just spontaneously come here for with any other motive, any other… desire, for a trip with her.
You leaned against her desk. “Besides, the Doctor says it’s important, and you know how he can get – what with those scruffy eyebrows.”
Clara let out a mock sound of hurt. “Oh, so you just need a buffer from those big scary eyebrows,” Clara said, and she made her voice sound teasing – she always made her voice sound teasing. “And here I thought I was special.”
Now, it wasn’t that Clara didn’t love the Doctor, she did, truly, the Doctor was her best friend. Sometimes though… Sometimes Clara just wanted to be with you.
Just you.
You rolled your eyes and gave her a fond smile. Again, Clara loved your smiles. “Of course you’re special,” You tapped the paper Clara had been marking. Your hand brushed against the red pen marks Clara had just made. She imagined how they would feel, jagged and rough under your finger. “Now, if you stare at this paper any longer, you might actually shoot daggers at it, and no one wants that.”
Clara sighed. She needed to say no – she really shouldn’t go. The Doctor was notorious at never landing them home at the right time, and she really couldn’t miss the rest of the school day.
But there you were, staring down at her with those big, hopeful eyes, and-
“Okay,” Clara said, and she stood, taking her coffee cup. “One trip.”
You brightened, and Clara knew she had made the right decision.
“But only one,” Clara continued, and she took a swig of her coffee. Instantly, she felt some energy pour into her. “I’ve got papers to mark.”
“Yes of course,” you said, and your grin was contagious. “Papers. Very important.”
Clara pointed her pen at you. “Extremely important.”
Clara startled at the sound of a grating knock, interrupting whatever you were going to say.
Mr Pink was standing by the door, juggling two Styrofoam cups. “I’m sorry Ms. Oswald,” he gaze went to you. “Is this a bad time?”
Clara looked in-between you and Mr. Pink, her head rocking back and forwards like she was watching a game of tennis. The two of you, in the same room together, feeling… feeling like she had been caught doing something she really wasn’t supposed to be doing.
It was you who spoke first.
“Did you bring coffee for you and Clara to share?”
He looked down at the cups, as if he’d forgotten that he was holding them. “Uh, yes. Well – not to share, but I can see now…” his gaze rested on Clara’s hand, which held the coffee you had bought her. “Oh, Ms Oswald,” he said. “I’m sorry, I can see you’re busy.”
Pretences, she had to keep up pretences.
“Not busy at all,” she said quickly, sidestepping you as she came out from her desk. “Y/N was just bringing me coffee whilst I finished marking, from my favourite café.”
“Ah, right,” he gave you a long look, and Clara felt the hair stand on the back of her neck. He then turned to Clara. “I suppose that takes my offer out the window, I’m sure your coffee is better.”
“Nothing wrong with more than one coffee though,” your eyes were sparkling with a certain something that made Clara feel very, very uneasy. It was the same look you had when you tried to set Clara up with Artie Fischer back in sixth form. The same look you always made whenever a man gave Clara any sort of attention.
It was a dangerous, heartbreaking look.
Clara cleared her throat, turning back to Mr Pink. “I’m afraid that I’m not as coffee obsessed as Y/N is, Mr. Pink.”
Mr. Pink nodded. “Right, yes. Of course,” he gave his coffee cups a blank expression. “More for me then, I suppose,” he then gave Clara a hopefully look. “Perhaps another time?”
Clara hummed in a noncommitting tone. She was trying to be polite, really, she was. It just felt as if two worlds were colliding at the moment, which was disorientating and jarring. She wanted to bundle you up and hold you away from her mundane life. You weren’t doing mundane right now.
And Clara liked keeping all this separate, the TARDIS and Coal Hill, they were supposed to be separate.
Well, mostly separate.
“Right,” Mr. Pink drew out the word, then he nodded. “I’ll leave you both to it then. Sorry for disturbing you.”
As he walked away you ran forward, and called out. “Stop by another time!”
Clara wanted to hit her head against the wall. Perhaps then she’d get it as thick as your head clearly was.
When you turned, you gave her a knowing smirk. Then, in a sing-song voice, enunciating every syllable, you said. “Mr. Pink.”
Clara stared at you, and tried not to grit her teeth. “What? No, not at all-”
“Really?” You were grinning now. “Because Clara, the way he was looking at you-”
A flash of annoyance sparked in her gut. “We’re not, that’s wasn’t – no, Y/N. Mr. Pink is a colleague, and nothing more.”
You hummed, cocking your head to the side like you didn’t believe her. “Right.”
Clara swallowed, and regarded you carefully. You really believed that Clara fancied Mr. Pink. You seemed delighted about it, as if the thought of Clara with Mr. Pink – as if the thought of Clara with anyone except you, made you happy.
Clara didn’t know if she wanted to scream, or if she wanted to cry.
“I’m not interested in him,” she said, with all the finality she could muster.
You sighed dejectedly. “You never are. I don’t get you Clara, you don’t even try. He seems entirely wonderful.”
Clara hummed. “Right, yeah. Getting someone coffee, really going above and beyond there.”
You eyed the coffee cup that Clara was currently holding, and slowly raised an eyebrow. “Uh huh.”
Clara bit her tongue before she said something ridiculous and completely embarrassing like; ‘it’s different when you do it,’ or, ‘I care about you more.’
She ran a hand over her face. “Why does it matter? You’ve always cared about whether or not I’m in a relationship. Why?”
The look you gave her was so earnest, Clara almost did a double take. It was a complete difference from your demeanour earlier. “You deserve love Clara, in all its forms, especially because I know how much you want it. You deserve happiness.”
Clara stared at you, completely dumbfounded. Then why couldn’t you see? How could be so blind? The only happiness, the only love Clara wanted, was yours.
Clara took another sip of coffee. This was how it always went, and it was completely exasperating. Sometimes Clara just wanted to shake you, get you to see beyond the end of her nose. She was right here, and there you were, trying to cart her off with someone else.
And Clara didn’t want anyone else.
It was ridiculous, completely ridiculous. The sort of ridiculous that made Clara wanted to cry out of a window, let the air take all her grievances, all her annoyance away.
“You’re so infuriating,” Clara groaned, and ran a hand through her hair. “I can’t believe I managed to fall in love with someone so bloody thick!”
There was a clatter as your coffee cup met the floor. Dark brown liquid exploded from inside it, painting the floor, the desk, and your shoes. Clara stared at it, flabbergasted. Then her eyes met yours, and she realised she had just spoken out loud.
You looked at each other for a moment, then another. A thick blanket of tension sat heavy in the air between you, so strong it was almost as if Clara could smell it.
In the smallest of voices, you said. “What?”
Clara closed her eyes for a moment, feeling utterly defeated.
A cup of coffee.
That was all it had taken.
Nothing was going to be the same now, even if – at best, you let Clara down gently, you would never be how you were before. When she looked at you again, she found you were holding your hands together, your knuckles white. Well, the cat was out of the bag now. “Y/N… God,” she breathed. “I’ve been in love with you since we were kids.”
Four seconds. That was how long the silence sat in between you both after Clara had spoken. Four seconds.
Clara had counted them.
And then, out of all the awful completely gut wrenching reactions you could have made… you laughed.
It bubbled up slowly. It was more like a bark at first, then it rumbled on outwards into a series of giggles that reminded her of when you had both been children, dancing in the rain.
Clara flinched.
“I’m sorry,” you said, gasping in between your laughs. “I’m just – I’m an idiot.”
“You need to stop laughing,” Clara said, and she crossed her arms over her chest, holding herself defensively. “No, seriously. Stop it. You don’t get to laugh about this.”
You sobered. “Oh my goodness Clara, no, I – I wasn’t laughing at you, I’m so sorry. I was laughing at myself. I’m an idiot, we’re idiots. The biggest fools in this entire galaxy.”
Clara chewed her lip. She hated this. “What are you saying.”
“So have I,” you breathed, coming towards her. Your hands hovered over her arms, as if you were afraid to touch her. “I’ve loved you too, ever since I met you.”
Clara frowned, thinking about the moment before when you were literally trying to set her up with her co-worker. “Seriously?”
“I didn’t think you wanted me,” you said, and your voice broke. “Not like how I’ve wanted you. But I wasn’t lying, I want you to be happy, I want you to have love, and I figured, if it’s not with me, then… then that’s okay, because your happiness is more important.”
It shocked a laugh out of her, then it clicked. “We’re idiots,” she breathed. “All this time...”
You laughed brightly, and threw your arms around her, pulling her against your frame. Clara loved your hugs. She had always felt safe in them, had always loved how warm and solid you felt around her.
“I love you,” Clara said again, because now you knew what she meant. Now you knew all the emphasis, all the meaning she held behind those three words.
There was another knock at the door, and Clara genuinely, actually screamed. “What?”
Clara detangled herself from you, and found the Doctor standing in the doorway, exasperated. “What’s with all the hugging? Why do you humans always hug? We need to go.”
“We were busy,” you said, and your hand snaked into Clara’s.
“I promise this can wait,” the Doctor said. “This is more important.”
“It really isn’t,” Clara said. “Not this time Doctor.”
The Doctors eyes fell to your joined hands. “Oh, you two did all that love confession nonsense. It was about time.”
You squawked. “About time, so you knew?”
“Ever since Clara dragged you onto my TARDIS, you could give the moon a run for its money with the amount of mooning you two have done to each other.”
You turned to Clara. “You’re coming with us? One trip?”
“Come to a park with me after,” Clara said. “Do some mundane, boring things with me, inter-sped with the time travel.”
You grinned. “Nothing is mundane with you.”
Clara’s heart swelled. Yes. She loved you.
And she was so glad you knew.

headcanons for rose tyler and clara oswald
Rose Tyler
1. She hates breakfast food!! She compromises on waffles, but toast and sausage and shit is on thin ice.
2. Her bisexual awakening happened when she was fourteen, but she never did anything about it due to a) societal pressures b) she's generally more attracted to men anyway.
3. Agnostic, but like in a hopeful way. She and the Doctor 100% get into an argument about fate/destiny/existential meaning on more than one occasion.
4. Loves kids, but doesn't want any of her own. Mostly due to mild childhood trauma (watching her mother be a single mom + certain friends go through the same thing). She also doesn't like the idea of being tied down.
5. Has strong opinions on tea. Will let you know if you're Wrong.
Clara Oswald
1. Altho she's social media illiterate, she played video games growing up!! favorites were obviously all the zelda games, but she played a lot of sega games too.
2. Lived near Rose!! They weren't friends but they were acquaintances and 100% saw each other every other week. They probably hooked up at a new years party too one time but they don't talk about that.
3. aaaa when she was little she would sneak into the local aquarium and watch the fish and steal shit from the giftshop and make friends with other children coming in on school trips
4. She had a reverse bisexual awakening!! Thought she was gay the whole way through high school and then met a pretty guy in senior year and realized wAIT-
5. Dog person!! Her parents owned a labrador retriever for years and she cried for weeks when he died. Owning a dog doesn't mesh with her lifestyle during canon, but she always planned to get one once she settled down.
send me a character and i'll give 5 niche headcanons about them

tell me some things last
Pairing:  13th Doctor x Reader
Summary: There are always someone who dare to use the Doctor's companion against him/her, most of the times the Doctor is able to rescue them but we know better, don't we? The Doctor can't save everyone.
(yn) (ln) traveled with Twelfth Doctor and Clara Oswald in the tardis after a chance meeting that involved another alien. Clara welcomed you with open arms, claiming the two of you will be a great friend.
You were not as close with the Doctor as Clara is. You understand they have a longer time together. You love travelling with him despite him being kind of intimidating. Clara is the only one who can seem to manage him. You were shy around the Doctor, often not knowing what to say when you two are alone. You can tell the both of you are relieved whenever Clara is on the room as she never fails to lighten up the room.
The topic regeneration come up when the Doctor and Clara accidentally mentioned his previous incarnation and his perchant for fish finger and custard. With the Doctor's  permission, Clara told you bit about regeneration. She even showed you a picture of Eleventh Doctor. You could hardly believe they are the same person.
Clara is reminiscing about her past adventure with Eleventh Doctor. You thought that version of the Doctor sounded like a fun person but you accidentaly spoke that thought out loud.
The Doctor is offended and exclaimed he is fun too, proceed to show off how fun he is much to Clara and your amusement. Three of you have fun together. You dare say that you and the Doctor grew closer just a tiny bit than before.
And then things went downhill when Clara died on trap street. He is gone leaving you to deal with Clara's body.
The Doctor is gone. You don't know what happened to him. You couldn't begin to even ask someone for help. You waited for him but he never come back. You fell into depression as you couldn't handle the loss of Clara and the Doctor. You meet a kind nurse named grace who help you deal with your depression.
You missed Clara and the Doctor so much. You wish he would come back for you. Of course, he didn't. He didn't owe you anything, so, why would he come back for you?
Grace thought you were experiencing a broken heart, that a lover has left you behind. You couldn't exactly tell her it was an alien that broke your heart and not even a lover. You would feel silly. But also you are grieving the loss of a very good friend.
A year later, you accidentally stumbled upon incident that is alien in nature and that is when you met Bill and Nardole. You overheard them mentioned the doctor and demanded to see him.
You finally see him again. You were at loss of words. He was surprised to see you but he smiled kindly. You slapped him hard without thinking.
"Okay. I deserve that." He begrudgingly said as he rubbed his cheek.
"I'm glad you think so." You coldly replied.
The Doctor glanced at your state and his eyes softened considerably. "How have you..."
You throw your arms around him as you pulled him into a hug much to his surprise and protest. You discreetly smelled him, you missed him so badly, you were so grateful to be able to find him again.
The Doctor introduced you to Nardole and Bill and invited you back on board of the tardis.
You were hesitant, a year ago, you would agree in a heartbeat. But were you ready to jump back into the disarray life that is the Doctor?
Bill is very friendly and she start animatedly chatted with you, wanting to know more about your past with the Doctor once she figured out that you were his past companion.
From Bill, you found out that the Doctor is a teacher in the university where she worked at. You were surprised and very curious, wanting to know how he handle being a teacher for a bunch of students. Bill, laughingly, told you the Doctor's teaching method is weird.
At the end of the day, you decided you wanted to stay with him again if he will have you. And it helped that Bill latched herself on you almost immediately. But Nardole seemed not too keen of having you around but Bill said not to mind him.
The Doctor and Nardole are guarding a mysterious vault. Although curious, you know better than to pry or asking the Doctor directly. You believed you haven't yet earned his trust.
Eventually, you meet the sarcastic, mary poppin-style Time Lady who, according the doctor, is currently undergoing a rehabilitation.
You don't like Missy for her sharp tongue and she seemed to look down upon you, Bill and Nardole.
The Doctor wanted to have a test run with Missy having to answer a distress call and solved the crisis with the help of Bill and Nardole. You opted to stay behind with the Doctor and you were lucky you did so.
When Bill got shot by some random blue alien and then later converted into the cyberman, you were traumatized by the whole thing. When the strange mechanical men come in to take Bill away, you volunteered to go with them so you could better watch over her much to the Doctor's dismay. You weren't sure where you get the courage to step forward from but you did it, albeit it is a very stupid move on your part.
But those years with Bill, taking care of each other, gossiping about the Doctor's angry eyebrow from the supposedly live monitor, you couldn't regret it. Bill is your friend and you care about her. You dont want to lose her like you did Clara.
When the old man, Razor, betrayed yours and Bill's trust by letting the doctors on that ship to operate on the both of you, you were in despair. You watched as they ripped you and Bill away from each other and you were made to watch as they operates on Bill.
Her pleading voice and screams of pain forever seared in your mind. You never hated someone as much as you hated Razor and all the people in that stupid ship.
You were about to undergoes the converting surgery when the Doctor and Nardole burst in and rescued you. You were hysterical when they finally freed you from the straps.
You cried as you told them that Bill has been converted. The agonized look on the Doctor's face is too painful to watch. He hugged you, kissed your forehead as he soothed you. You were surprised by his sudden affectionate attitude but you were too distracted by what is being done to Bill and the fate you nearly shared.
In the face of Bill's misery of having been turned as cyberman, you felt guilty. When the Master revealed himself as Razor and mocked you and Bill about it, you very nearly lost your marble as you wanted to attack the miserable bastard but the Doctor pulled you back and away from him.
Everything spiralled out of control and next thing you know you woke up on the tardis floor with the Doctor yelling that he refused to regenerate.
You and the Doctor were able to says goodbye to Bill, Nardole and Clara through the testimony project.
The Doctor finally regenerated as you saw him glowing yellow and then exploded into a blonde woman. But before you could say anything, the tardis shook violently and ejected the Doctor out. You were lucky you weren't ejected as you were not sure you could survive the fall.
The next few days, you worried sick about where the Doctor is. You couldn't talk to anyone but the tardis and frankly you felt silly talking to the box.
You nearly got a heart attack though when tardis voice interface got activated at the word 'help' you uttered. It showed a hologram of Twelfth Doctor asking you what you need of help for.
You felt grief suddenly at the sight of him. You knew the Doctor survived but he had changed into a new person now, a woman at that. You wondered if she would even still want you around now.
When a woman you presumed to be the new Doctor dressed in a new clothing stepped in with three other people, you were so glad and a bit wary.
The Doctor seemed happy to see you as she pulled you into her arms before introducing you to her new friends.
That is when you found out about Grace, a kind nurse who used to help you with your depression. She met the Doctor and she died. You felt like you got slapped in the face as you are starting to worry that it will be a matter of time before it was your turn to die next if you continue to stay with the doctor. But your heart hurts at the thought of leaving the doctor behind. You were not ready to let her go. And so you cling to her for as long as you can.
You were initially worry that the Doctor would ask you to leave as despite the ship is bigger on the inside, it might be a tad crowded with 5 people on board. And frankly you weren't sure you are ready for adventure so soon. You don't want to leave her or the tardis but you declined on some adventures with the fam, preferring to stay on the safety inside of the tardis.
The Doctor is concerned but understanding and didn't pressure you.
The fam are nice enough and love to chat with you, asking about your past with the Doctor. It hurts to talk about the past which included losing two best friends so you remained mostly vagues.
Eventually, you started to go on adventures again but you were mostly wary believing trouble is a foot everytime you stepped out of the tardis and let face it, with the Doctor, the magnet for trouble, you should expect it.
Maybe it was just your feeling but you felt the Doctor is a tad bit protective of you. And yet, she also keep her distant from you which make you anxious that your time with her might be over soon.
At new years, when a dalek took control over Ryan's dad body, you refused to let him go as you fight to keep him safe along with Ryan. In your mind, at the times, you refused another loss.
When everything is safe and sound, the Doctor is looking at you with a look you can't decipher.
It hit you suddenly that you might have a strong feeling for the Doctor. You decided to take a short break away from the Doctor and tardis to sort out your feeling but you made her swear up and down that she will come back for you again when you are ready. She promised.
Of course, when you finally returned to the tardis, you found out from the fam that they had meet an enemy of the Doctor, the Master. You felt like you were being kicked in the gut. You hated that person for his part with Bill's miserable fate and nearly yours. It was a different incarnation but still he already in your blacklist.
You noticed the Doctor look gloomy, sad and just distant and you hated it. She seemed so far from you eventhough she is just a few steps away from you.
You wanted to ask her what is going on with her but you dont think she would ever open up to you. But you still have to try, right? So you approached her and as you predicted, she shut you down.
It kind of hurt that she still doesn't trust you but you tried not to take it personally. You tried to be good and less annoying for fear if you ask too much from her, she would turn you away for good.
And then you and the fam meet Jack. Your heart nearly jumped at his warning of cyberman. The fam has yet to encounter cybermen but you did. The word alone enough to send you back to that flashback of being strapped down on the operating table as the doctors are ready to convert you.
Jack and the fam look concerned at seeing your pale face and rapid shallow breathing.
Yaz and Graham are able to calm you down when you finally told them about Bill.
When you and the fam returned to the tardis, they delivered Jack's warning for the Doctor.
You noticed the Doctor is staring at you at the mention of cyberman but she didn't say anything to you.
The Doctor found you alone as you sort of barricated yourself inside a random room in hope to calm yourself down. She sat beside you without words. It was a somewhat comfortable silence despite at the beginning you felt like you have to say something to her but you found yourself speechless.
You were glad she didn't ask you if you want to go home for in your moment of weakness you might say yes and you have feeling you will lose her for good if you did that. She would want to keep you safe and she might actually do that by leaving you behind on earth.
It wasn't that long before Jack's warning of the lone cyberman coming true. It looked somewhat defective but still lethal and, of course, the shape of it alone is enough to make a mess of your mind.
You have a panic attack again and the Doctor calmed you down with her soothing words and a gentle kiss on your forehead which reminded you a lot of her previous incarnation.
Somehow you felt like you are having a moment with the Doctor and yet for some reason you cant quite grasp it. You just feel at lost.
The Doctor left to deal with the lone cyberman and at the end of it all she has to surrender cyberium back to him. But, she planned to travel into the distant future to deal with Ashad and his armies.
The fam eagerly wanted to help despite the danger. You felt like if you didnt follow through with  the rest, you were not good enough to be her companion. So, you forced yourself to overcome your fear.
Of course, the moment you stepped out of the tardis, the dread filled every spore of your body and mind. You were paralyzed by it that you nearly collapsed.
The Doctor has that look again on her face as she stared at you with sorrow. She told you to stay behind on the tardis and this time you didn't fight her on it. You recognized you are a liability currently.
As you waited for the Doctor and the fam to return, you summoned the tardis voice interface again and tell it your fears. The hologram just stood there listening to your rants.
You beginning to regret not going with the Doctor as hours passed by and no news from them. Your heart is clenched by the worry of losing the Doctor and the fam.
"They will return soon. They have to be. This is the tardis. The Doctor always return here...eventually. They will be okay." You repeated that to yourself like a mantra.
And you could finally be relieved of your stress when the door of the tardis opened up to reveal the Doctor. But, she was alone.
Your face filled with pain as you thought of the worst. But, she quickly reassured you that Yaz, Ryan and Graham are okay. They were back on earth with another tardis. You were puzzled and asked her what has happened.
The Doctor smiled brightly at you. It has been a while since last she smile so freely. She was about to explain when an alarm sounded loudly inside the tardis. Next thing you know, a bunch of Judoon were inside the ship and they were talking about how the Doctor is a fugitive to justice.
Without thinking you stepped into the oncoming laser beam one of the Judoon shot the Doctor with. You and the Doctor materialized somewhere else, a prison in some galaxy. The Doctor is quick to catch you as you lost your balance as you are feeling disoriented.
She reprimanded you for your reckless thinking. "That laser beam could have been anything. You could have died or worst splintered in pieces." She sounded angry.
You didn't bother to defend yourself as you tried to compose yourself as you took on the new surrounding. "Where are we?"
The Doctor is displeased for the change of topic but answered your question. She yelled at the ceiling, wanting to talk to whoever in charge of the prison.
  There is no answer.
"At least we are together." You replied.
She glared at you, making you flinch.
For the next few hours, the Doctor is busy observing the prison she was in and sometimes yelling at the ceiling but she was ignored.
When someone come in to give a tray of food for one person, the Doctor is quick to demand a meeting but that person ignored her too. She told you to eat the food for you both are going to here for a long while it seemed. You ate a little, leaving a generous amount for the Doctor.
The Doctor is busy talking to herself and generally giving you a silent treatment much to your dismay.
It was the next day someone come in and gave a prison suit for the Doctor to change into. The Doctor is quick to point at you, telling them they made a mistake in regard of you. The person seemed surprised to see you as the room supposedly a solitary prison made for one person and agreed to talk to their superior.
It was another day before the door suddenly opened and two Judoon come in to read the Doctor's sentence. The Doctor interrupted them, wanting to negotiate your release.
You were uneasy that she keep demanding your release and made no mention of defending herself.
The Judoon glanced at you and nodded at each other before one of them stepped forward to grab your arm.
The Doctor stepped in front of you demanding to know what action they will take in regard of you. She wanted to be sure that you would be return safe and sound back on earth or at least on her tardis.
The Judoon pushed the Doctor away from its path and made a grab at you.
You were scared, not wanting to be apart from the Doctor. She warned you not to fight them so you followed the Judoon out of the room while the Doctor continued talking with the other one.
That was the last you saw of the Doctor.
  7777
You were pushed into a room and was left there for hours. It was a smaller room and looked like some interrogation room. You tried to talk to anyone you see there but they mostly ignored you. You paced back and forth as you bite your lips nervously.
You can't keep track how long you were there but suddenly the door opened and entered an eye-patch lady with a twisted smile on her face. She wasn't alone. There is a military man with her and someone dressed like a doctor.
"Hello, (yn) (ln)." The lady greeted you with a grin. "It has been a while."
You were confused as you never see the lady before in your entire life. "How did you..."
"...know your name? My dear, I made you." She answered with a creepy smile.
  You frowned in confusion.
"You have done well in regard of the Doctor."
You have a bad feeling toward this lady and the way she mentioned the Doctor with contempt made you realized she must be an enemy of the Doctor. You took a step back away from her.
The lady nodded at the man dressed as a doctor and he walked toward you.
  You stared at him warily.
"Ceres, would you like your treatment now?" he said gently at you.
The reaction is immediate. All tension left your body as you mechanically answered, "Yes, please."
The man gently pulled you to him.
"I want to see everything she collected so far from her times with the Doctor." Madam Kovarian instructed the man.
  The man obeyed.
The colonel glanced at you and then at Madam Kovarian. "What about the Doctor? She would have try to find out about her whereabout."
The unforgiving, evil smirk on her face nearly tore her lips apart. "Fabricate something. Let's just say that little (yn) here is mistakenly executed after a case of misidentify. Leave a vague trail with the cover up for our dear Doctor to find. Let her suffer for the death of a friend." She said with disdain. "Get her someone to blame, a scapegoat. The oncoming storm would want revenge, let her get it."
The colonel nodded his head and made the preparation needed.
  7777
You blinked your eyes as awareness finally returned.
A young man smiled down at you.
  "Did I fall asleep?"
  "For a little a while."
  "Can I go now?"
  "Go ahead."
You nodded as you slowly left the room.
"Oh, Ceres." The young man suddenly called out.
You turned around to face him in a very serene manner.
He smiled genuinely and said, "Welcome back."
You smiled before leaving him without any care in the world. You greeted a few other people on your way out with a kind smile.
As you left, Topher turned to the other occupants in the another room. Adelle and Madam Kovarian stepped into the room. Topher gave the intimidating lady what she wanted, a black box containing your memory and feeling, everything you see and heard as (yn) (ln).
Madam Kovarian look pleased with herself. She has yet to determine whether the information she gathered on the Doctor will be useful but one thing she knew, she could use (yn) as a weapon against the Doctor for she knew the Doctor's weakness has always been his/her companion.
"It is a pleasure doing business with you, Madam." Adelle replied with a smile but it was uneasy. She doesn't trust the woman but she seemed to have friends in high place for she was able to locate the dollhouse and even borrowed one of her active dolls for a long term of period. She tolerated her only because she donated a generous large amount of money for the corporation.
"I might have the need to use that girl once again in the future." Madam Kovarian said.
  "Of course."
  7777
After Jack broke her out of prison, the Doctor is filled with dread upon meeting the fam and realized you were gone. Before she could investigate on your disappearance, the fam has warned her of Daleks invasion on earth. Despite worrying about you, the Doctor had to focus on solving the current crisis.
At the end of the day, against Jack's protest, the Doctor actually planned to break in back into the prison, wanting to find out the prison record on you. As Kovarian predicted, she did find the trail of a cover up for prisoner 1423588. She froze after she uncovered the details and the fact there is nothing left of you to find.
Jack, Yaz, Ryan and Graham froze at the fury emanating from the Doctor. They couldn't even properly grief for their fallen friends as they scrambled around trying to calm the oncoming storm.
She was frightening. Her friends are all afraid of her, save for Jack who understood the kind of loss she is feeling.
Yaz has begged her not to leave her behind again. Ten month has been an agony to her. However, to Ryan, what happened to (yn) is the last push he needed to actually left behind the world of the Doctor and Tardis. Graham, not wanting to left Ryan alone, also left with him. But they are all worried for the Doctor.
For their sake, the Doctor lies that she will be okay, that she understood that (yn) wouldn't want her to do anything reckless. She was heartbroken by yet another loss of friends.
Jack also stayed with Yaz on board of the tardis. Unlike the others, Jack knew the Doctor lies, she always lies. After Yaz is asleep, he volunteered to help her in her quest for revenge so he could watch over her and maybe pull her back if she went too far.
  7777
You were imprinted with the identity of someone called Adalind. You were supposed to attend a party in a hotel with your pretend fiance. But thing get out of control when alien crashed the party.
The Doctor, Yaz and Jack were there to answer some distress signal from said alien.
"(yn)?" The Doctor called out in almost awe. She felt like she was being punched in the gut when she saw you.
"Sorry? I think you mistaken me with someone else." You replied in polite manner. You were different, you have different hair colors and eyes. You were dressed elegantly. You looked confident and comfortable with yourself.
"(yn)..." The Doctor clutched your arm insistently.
You forced a smile at her. "I'm sorry, I'm not (yn), my name is Adalind."
"You...really are not (yn)?" Yaz asked hesitantly. She was shocked with your appearance.
You shook your head as you pulled the Doctor's hand off you.
The Doctor pulled her sonic screwdriver to scan you but to her surprise, the conclusion is inconsistent. A more thorough scan revealed that Adalind is definitely not (yn), different brainwave pattern and all. Her hearts broke at the result. But, of course, she should have known there is no way (yn) could be alive. But, she still suspect Adalind. Could she be an echo of (yn) like what happened to Clara? But the brainwave pattern...
Jack and Yaz are quick to distract the Doctor with the distress signal they have come for in the first place and it worked, for the duration of the mystery, the Doctor is able to push the thought of Adalind out of her mind.
Adalind and the rest of the guests were interrogated by the Doctor when someone suddenly dropped dead.
Yaz had talked to Adalind's fiance and she thought he was suspicious for his reluctant to talk about how she met Adalind. She told Jack about it and he agreed he seemed fishy.
Jack had flirted with Adalind but was quickly stopped with a mean glare from the Doctor.
After a series of events, the Doctor finally is able to solve the crisis and save most of everyone in the hotel included the alien in question.
The Doctor, Yaz and Jack had spoken with Adalind and they like you enough to warrant invitation onto the Tardis. Of course, the truth is, the Doctor is wanting to investigate more on Adalind's similarity with (yn).
However, Adalind, despite your friendliness with them, has refused the offer 'opportunity of a lifetime' as you had deduced their ulterior motive regarding a certain (yn). Yaz had gave you her number in case you changed your mind.
Adalind bid the three of them goodbye and left the hotel alone without the fiance.
Unbeknownst to you, you were followed. You walked alone for a long while before a black van suddenly stopped near you. A man got out of the van. "Ceres, would you like your treatment now?"
"Yes, please." You answered immediately and the man led you inside the van.
The Doctor, Yaz and Jack is quick to use the Tardis to follow the van. Thankfully, Jack apparently has put a tracker on Adalind when he is flirting with her. The Doctor is impressed with him.
  7777
Topher has just finished the usual procedures of erasing the Adalind imprint and returning you to default Ceres personality. Your caretaker has also informed him on the unexpected variable during your current engagement and he had called Adelle on it when he found elaborate tracker on your person.
When Adelle is informed that the unknown variable has called you with the name (yn), she cursed. She would have to call on that unpleasant woman again regarding the imprint (yn) (ln).
You were oblivious to the tension above as you serenely making an origami paper much like a child.
Somewhere within the building, the tardis materialized inside as the Doctor and companion got out to inspect the surrounding curiously.
The room screamed zen mood all over the place. There are people who were doing stuff like meditating, drawing, making flower arrangement, etc. But, they didn't seem concerned or alarmed at the appearance of the tardis or the three strangers.
"What is this place?" Yaz asked out loud.
Jack noticed on the railing above, a young woman dressed as a dominatrix walked to a room but not before winking at him. "I like it."
The Doctor, however, laser-focused on locating you and she finally spotted you, seated on the floor in front of a small table, smiling as you made origami. She quickly approached you and called you Adalind but you weren't responsive to that name.
You finally noticed the three strangers that are staring at you. The blonde woman looked sad as if someone shot her puppy so you offered her your finished origami.
She smiled at you but you think her smile still sad. She asked your name as she bend her knees before you.
  "I am Ceres." You replied.
  "Ceres..." She repeated.
An alarm sounded loudly. A set of man and woman dressed in black suit immediately surrounded the room, pointing their gun on the strangers. The other caretakers herded the rest of the people inside the room to evacuate to another room.
The Doctor noted these people are almost childlike, not showing any fear or anxiety at all, as they were led away from there. She had prevented you from leaving when you are about to make your move too like the rest of the dolls.
Adelle stepped into the room and stared hard at the intruders.
The Doctor pulled her psychic papers and as Adelle read into it, she groaned and instructed the guard to back off.
"They have VIP invitation from Rossum." Adelle said in annoyance. "I really wish they warned me before letting VIP guest into the building." She led the Doctor, Yaz and Jack into her office.
The Doctor wanted you to stay with her but she has to find out more about this place from Adelle and it wouldn't do to alert them of her intention with you.
  7777
Adelle offered the guests a bourbon for a drink but they refused. The blonde woman seemed to be in charge and is very eager to find out what the Dollhouse has to offer.
The Doctor introduced herself and her companion.
Adelle has revealed that she knew that they made use of a psychic paper, she was warned of it but she saw no harm in telling them about the Dollhouse. After all, in a short a while, they would no longer be her problem.
"Who warned you of it?" The Doctor asked her but she only smiled.
The Doctor and Yaz look horrified after her explanation of the purpose of the Dollhouse.
"I know some people have reservation about our Actives. Robot. Slaves. Mosty, people think they are very good liars. They are, of course, the opposite." Adelle started her speech. "An Active is the truest soul among us."
"The only way to imprint a human being with a new personality is to remove their own. Completely." The Doctor said in horror.
"But they are not gone. We made a backup of all their original personality. The Actives here are under five-years contract with us. After five years, we will return them to their original personality with a few tweak as they wanted on our contract. They left here a rich person and no longer have to deal with whatever issues they have before they entered a contract with us." Adelle said. "We eased their suffering."
The Doctor demanded to see the technology they used on these people.
They met Topher who animatedly explained with a smug look on his face about the machine. He was surprised when the Doctor is able to keep up and talk technology babble on par with him. He was impressed with the Doctor and her with him.
"Is that what happened to (yn)?" Yaz asked. "Did she entered a contract with you?"
Adelle looked almost sorry to tell them the truth.
"She is not real, is she?" The Doctor said. "She is an imprint."
"The real (yn) (ln) has died a long time ago. But we were requested to copy her brainwave pattern, apparently, she fits some criteria that our client wanted." Topher revealed.
"Some criteria...funny, kind and brave...exactly my type..." The Doctor snorted in derisive. "The exact companion I can't resist..."
Both Yaz and Jack stared at the Doctor in confusion and dread as they realized someone ordered one of these Actives, imprinted with a personality of some dead woman that they think will catch the Doctor's interest...as a spy?
"Who is the client?" Yaz demanded.
"That is classified." Adelle has said.
The Doctor snorted. "You already blabber your mouth about all of these, why keep that one a secret?"
"This is not personal to me, Doctor, I don't know or care who you are. You are our esteemed client problem and she is on the way here to see you. You will soon find out who it is." Adelle said.
Yaz and Jack look nervous at the mention of the said client coming for them.
The Doctor glared at her firmly. "I want to talk to (yn). Imprint her back to...Ceres."
"We can't. The imprint on (yn) (ln) is no longer in our hands. We handed it over to the client per her request."
"Well, that is not entirely true."
Adelle turned to glare at Topher. "You didn't."
"I made a backup, backup of the imprint." Topher sheepishly grinned, sorry-not-sorry.
Adelle rolled her eyes in fondness at the young man as he grabbed something from the vault of black boxes of imprints and located the imprint he wanted.
You were led back into the room and into the machine where the Doctor and companion witnessed for the first time how the machine worked.

You woke up to the concerned face of the Doctor and Yaz.
"Doctor? Yaz?" You blinked in confusion. "Where am I?"
Jack stared at you in pity.
"What was the last thing you remembered?" The Doctor asked.
"I was with you and then I was in the interrogation room. There was a woman." You tried to recalled your last memories.
"Tell me about the woman. What does she look like?" The Doctor requested.
You described the woman and blanched at the fury on the Doctor's face as she, in disdain, uttered a name.
  "Kovarian."
The Doctor explained in brief that Kovarian has a grudge on her and if she is coming to the building, they would have to expect a fight on their hands.
Jack brought gun and ready for a fight.
You were confused by the whole thing and demanded explanation.
The way the Doctor glanced at you, like she was disgusted or sad, you didn't understand what to warrant you that expression. She can't still be mad at you for jumping in front of the stupid laser beam, can she?
Eventually, they told you the truth.
You were having a hard time believing them. "I am real! Not an imprint!" You yelled at them in denial.
You saw that the Doctor truly believe that you are not real, that everything you experienced together are all lies. You were angry and sad. You left the room, unable to face the Doctor any longer. You cried on the stairs away from everyone.
If it was all fake, a fabricated everything, why does it feel so real? Your feeling is real and valid and you realized right now you are hurt by the Doctor and it hurts so bad it has to be real. How can they say that?
You couldn't believe the true you, the original personality, has given up on your body and mind, to be a plaything of people for five years. Given that you are on loan for some enemy of the Doctor that probably has time travel on their hands meant that for you it might already be longer than five years.
"Why woud I do that?" You asked yourself out loud.
"You could no longer live with the consequence of your own action." Adelle answered for you. "And you no longer have to."
"What could be so bad that I, that she would do that?" You asked her.
She didn't answer at first. "Do you really want to know?"
You glanced at her, at her serious expression on her face and realized you are afraid to find out about the original you because that would be like admitting that you are not real and you are not ready.
Suddenly a bunch of men dressed like an army entered the building, quick to block the all possible way out.
  Adelle sighed in exasperation.
  7777
Jack was able to escape the resulting chaos as the Doctor and Yaz surrender to face the client they have been waiting for.
"You really have a perchance to ruin my plan, don't you, Doctor?" Kovarian look annoyed at the fact the Doctor found out about (yn) before she could use you against her and that she doesn't even surprised to see her again.
You and the Doctor glared at the woman.
"Hello, Kovarian, colonel run-away." The Doctor coldly greeted them.
The colonel twitched at the cursed nickname the oncoming storm has bestowed upon him for his part in kidnapping Amy and Melody Pond.
Kovarian glanced at the Doctor and then at you. "I see you get (yn) back after all." She glanced at Adelle and Topher in disapproval. "What do you think of my gift to you, Doctor?"
The Doctor glared at the woman. "What do you hope to accomplish from using her?"
Kovarian smiled menacingly at the Doctor. "I suppose it is no longer matter since you already found out that (yn) here is a fake."
You bristled at that. You were angry and ready to snap back at the stupid eye-patch lady but to your surprise, the Doctor pulled you away from the woman.
"You got me now. What are you gonna do about it?" The Doctor taunted her instead.
Kovarian smirked. "Oh you will find out." She suddenly recite something in that flat tone of her, a twisted version of the tick tock goes the clock that the Doctor recognized but instead of using River's name, this time, it was yours.
The reaction is immediate as you clenched your head in pain.
"Oh shit." Topher recognized it as a sleeper mode within an Active, probably a combat-ready personality one.
Yaz grabbed onto you, worrying about your state but Topher warned her to step away from you.
  You stared blankly ahead.
"What have you done, Kovarian?" The Doctor demanded even though she already guess what happened to you.
You walked toward the colonel who gave you a gun and you proceed to point the gun at the Doctor.
The Doctor was able to duck thankfully. She was correct, after all. Of course, she is going to use you as a weapon like she did with River.
Yaz, Adelle and Topher also duck on the floor.
You stride in confident as you commanded the Doctor to kneel.
Having a gun pointed at her, the Doctor has no choice but to obey.
Suddenly a different sound of alarm ringing through the building and it made you groaned in pain and you were knocked out cold.
Topher realized it was emergency alarm that will immediately wiped every imprints in the building and since you are currently an imprint, you were effected too.
Before anyone can do anything, there is a blackout and the shooting started causing chaos.
The Doctor crawled near Yaz and covered her with her body.
When the blackout is over, the Doctor looked up and froze when she saw River and Jack together with guns, incapacitating Kovarian men.
"Hello, sweetie." River greeted the Doctor with her usual flirty tone. "Loving the new look."
Jack has somehow get into the tardis and asked it for help in getting more people to rescue the Doctor and the machine has led him to the Doctor's wife.
The Doctor is momentarily distracted by the appearance of her wife. She is happy to see her again despite knowing the heartaches she would later feel again, having to say goodbye and return her beloved wife to the correct timeline and erased River's memory of her current incarnation.
Kovarian has lost once more to the Doctor and River. She is pissed but there is not much she can do except apparently destroy the imprint (yn) she has on her person, essentially killing the chance for (yn) to return or so she hopes. She was petty and she wish to hurt the Doctor anyway she can.
The Doctor glanced forlornly at the destroyed piece of tech that carried (yn) within. To tell the truth, she has no idea if she would want to bring (yn) back again.
You slowly woke up to Yaz's concerned face. "Did I fall asleep?" You asked her.
Yaz's face fell at that. She recognized Ceres for her childlike look.
"For a little a while." Topher answered.
You smiled at him as he helped you up.
The Doctor glanced at you sadly.
River glanced at the Doctor curiously and then at you. Jack has filled her in about you before.
The Doctor's hearts nearly tear apart when Topher had said the backup imprint of (yn) he made also got damaged during the shooting. Was (yn) gone for real now? She didn't even get to say goodbye.
She wasn't the only one who is in grief. Yaz is sad as you were her friend too.
  7777
The Doctor would have like to shut down the Dollhouse but settled on the demand for the release of the original personality of you be returned and released from the Dollhouse service. She didn't want to see you used by anyone ever again.
Adelle agreed and being generous enough to release you with more money than the contract stated.
The Doctor warned her that the tech they used is dangerous and someday some people are going to want to use it, abuse it, for their personal gain.
Adelle reassured her that she won't let that happen. She care for the Dollhouse and the Actives.
The Doctor watched as you, the real you, talked to Adelle. You looked very beautiful at that moment but she noticed the underlying pain on your eyes. She had read your file and watch your recruitment video. She knew the reasoning behind your acceptance of the Dollhouse contract.
You bumped into her and apologized politely. There is no recognition on your eyes upon seeing her.
The Doctor's hearts ached as she forced a smile at you.
You walked away without turning back, passing Yaz and Jack without so much a look.
Yaz watched you go with a look of grief on her face.
  7777
River comforted the Doctor the only way she could as she suspected that (yn) is someone dear to the Doctor. River has the damaged tech from Topher unbeknownst of the Doctor. She is hoping she could fix it and maybe lessen the pain in her wife's eyes. But she knew it was a long shot so she didn't dare to alert the Doctor of her intention.
After saying goodbye to River once more, the Doctor keep her mask in place for her companion's benefit.
Yaz wanted to check on your well being and she obliged because she has a duty of care.
They didn't approach you, only watched you from far away.
You didn't look happy but you make do. You live well with the generous amount of money on your bank account.
The Doctor and Yaz left the sight of you and back into the tardis.
The wheezing sound of the tardis caught your attention as you glanced around in curiosity before shrugging and resumed your walking.
A/N: So, yeah, finally a sort of crossover fusion of doctor who and dollhouse. It has been a while since I last watch dollhouse so I might get some fact wrong but plot holes whatever, right? November and Whiskey are my favorite characters on Dollhouse. Guess the reader's situation is similar to that of November but without the sad ending. Also, what am I even writing? I knew the plot fell flat in regard of how Kovarian going to use the reader against the Doctor. I don't feel so good now but as usual I'm just gonna post it and run away.
I hope this is entertaining enough for a good read. Thank you for reading. Hope you have a good day. Stay safe, everyone.
Where do we go from here?

Betrayal
drabble in the series
Tumblr media
The Master’s child goes off the walls.
Warnings: Violence, cursing, Daleks
Characters: OC, Jack Harkness, Daleks, The doctor(10), Donna
Helena grinned as they spinned around in a room full of daleks, cackling as they fiddled with their Vortex Manipulator that they stole off of Jack Harkness. “You all really really dont know who I am.”
“You are The Doctor’s associate, Caitlyn.” The Dalek’s called out causing the Time-Lord to chuckle, before reaching for their TCE. “Check again.”
“You are a Time-Lord, Mostly known as Missy.” A male voice called out, a smile in his words as he walked into the room. Jack Harkness. “Except, we all know who you got that name from, Helena.”
“Got it from mummy, didn't I?” They called back to Jack, spinning the TCE before slipping it into their pocket. “Did Daddy tell you to come get me? Or did you notice something missing?”
Helena held up their wrist, showing off Jack’s Vortex Manipulator. “Crappy time travel tech, but it works when we need it to.”
They stilled when they heard a different male voice. “Its bad technology.”
Helena turned again and saw The Doctor before gesturing to the Daleks. “Before we fight, can we deal with them first? I do not want to regenerate in a room full of Daleks.”
The Doctor whistled and the TARDIS doors opened, causing all of them, and a woman to run into it, Helena tossing Jack his Vortex Manipulator back as they reached the TARDIS console. Both Helena and The Doctor started to work on the console, inputting coordinates and flicking levers and switches. The woman and Jack watched in amusement as the Time-Lords worked in unison.
The TARDIS landed in Sheffield, and Helena stepped out. “We’re at a park, in 2023. Now, lets sit down and talk, because I know all of you want answers, especially the human.”
“OI! Watch it Space-girl!” The woman called and Helena stopped and turned, grabbing their TCE, aiming it at the woman. “The name is Princess to you humans. If you dont like that, call me Missy. Only the Doctor and the Master can call me names like that.”
“The master?” The Doctor asked. Helena scoffed and looked at the Doctor, really taking in his appearance, trying to determine the age of this Doctor. “Clara Oswald?”
“Who?” The Doctor asked, getting confused and angry. “Amy and Rory Pond!”
“Again! Who!?” The Doctor shouted causing Helena and the human to flinch. “Okay, I havent met you then. This body’s current name is Helena, named after a certain Saxon.”
“Why are you named after The Master!?” The Doctor gripped Helena’s arms, making the younger Time-Lord squirm and flinch. “I’m his child! From the future! Rassilon your more grumpy than grey-hair.” Helena snapped, the human running up and pulled The Doctor back.
“He’s dead, whose your mother?” The Doctor asked and Helena smirked, memories of River Song jumping into their mind. “Spoilers.”

Eras of The Doctor’s Life (Part 6: Nu-Who)
The Post-Time War Era
Defined by The Doctor believing himself to be the last of his kind. This era sees The Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Doctors face creatures and villains as normal again, alongside surviving threats from the war (including the Daleks, The Master, Davros, and the Time Lord High Council), coupled with his own PTSD. This period of The Doctor’s life ends when The Eleventh and Tenth Doctors share an adventure with The War Doctor and decide to save Gallifrey rather than burn it.
(9th Doctor-11th Doctor)
- 10: The Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston)
- 11: The Tenth Doctor (David Tennant)
- 12 The Tenth Doctor (David Tennant | Aborted regeneration)
- 13: The Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith)
Tumblr media
The Pre-Hybrid Era
Defined by The Doctor’s on-again-off-again search for Gallifrey, coupled amongst many more adventures in time and space. During this era, The Eleventh Doctor spends the vast majority of his life on Trenzalore, defending the Town of Christmas from attack for 900 years against countless alien aggressors attempting to access a crack in time leading to Gallifrey. He sees off the New Dalek Paradigm (the last of the aggressors remaining) with a huge explosion resulting in the first of a newly granted regeneration cycle, transforming into The Twelfth Doctor. Facing many dangerous threats (such as the Daleks, Cybermen, Davros and many such others), The Doctor also went through a major evolution of character during this era, going from a stern solitary fellow resistant to hugs; to a kind, deeply caring man, willing to go through hell for 4.5 billion years trapped in his own Confession Dial simply to return to Gallifrey and attempt to bring Clara Oswald back from death (neglecting his people’s fears about The Hybrid prophesy in favour of his friend’s wellbeing). This care also extended out to his old enemies, mostly very much referring to Missy (a female incarnation of The Master attempting to regain her long-lost friendship with The Doctor), watching over her for decades on end at St. Luke’s University in hopes of rehabilitating her (very nearly succeeding until the reappearance of her prior incarnation and her subsequent death).
(11th Doctor-12th Doctor)
- 13: The Eleventh Doctor
- 14: The Twelfth Doctor
Tumblr media
The Hybrid Era
Defined by The Thirteenth Doctor’s troubling revelations about her hidden past, coupled with the return of The Master to his despicable heights of depravity, this era saw everything that The Doctor had come to rely on about herself destroyed. Gallifrey, the world her prior incarnations had worked so hard to save, has been destroyed by The Master seeking revenge (fulfilling the feared prophesy of The Hybrid). The truth behind her life becomes abundantly clear, and The Doctor has to face the fact that she has lived far many more lives than she initially thought. The history of her species (if she can even call them that anymore) is based upon her hidden suffering... and THAT is this place where we leave The Doctor... for now... ;) (god I cant wait to see what they do next)
(13th Doctor-???)
- 15: The Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker)

Thank you all so much for reading this far if you have! The intention of this is purely because I love Doctor Who to hell and back. It has such a wonderful lore, and if I’ve introduced anybody to any new sections of the fandom, then I feel I’ve done a good job. :) For everybody else’s this has taken me all night to compile, so I hope I did a good job for all you diehards out there! 😁
