Since I just finished my new mega palette, I had to take it for a test run! This inked illo of a mom making Blueberry jam with her kiddo has been on a stretcher board for months while I worked on other projects, so I figured it was time to get it painted! I think the original illustration was from the fourth volume of #LilliputianLiving , and I think the new revised inks (shown here) are in Curious Little Things, my #Lilliputian #coloringbook if you feel like coloring along! #whimsicalart #watercolorart #watercolorillustration #motherandchild #canning #makingjam #homecooking #cuteart #originalart https://www.instagram.com/p/Coxk5T2uXXg/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I painted “Mother and Child” over 50 years ago. It was my first serious portrait painting and I remember being very unsure of my ability to capture the proud and resolute look on mother’s face. Unfortunately the surface was damaged some years ago whilst the painting was in storage
