"Monodam, please hold still!" The voice that came from the camera was strong and feminine, and then the image came upon the screen. An amalgamation of people of varying sizes and colors (literally) were shown, most of them looking as though they were still getting ready to be on camera with you and had connected to the camera by mistake. Still, they didn't seem deterred, and continued making their way up to being presentable.

"No!" cried the boy with green and white hair, whose name was apparently Monodam. His expression showed great rage and malice, pointing a harsh index finger at the taller man with blue and white hair. "I don't want to do anything with him!" The man with blue hair shrugged and began to egg the boy on.

"You mad, little bro? Gonna cry like the baby you are?" he laughed, clearly getting a kick out of agitating this Monodam boy. Just as the boy went to hit the man, the woman from before held them apart. Stress was visible on her expression, showing the mental strain she appears to be under.

"Monokid, please stop agitating your brother..." she sighed. Her physical strength must be immaculate, being able to hold both of the two apart without much visible strain on her own body. Quickly, her attention snapped to another child, all the while still holding the two apart and not moving from her position at all. "Nanokuma, dear, have you washed up for the promo?"

"Yes, Momma," the littlest child replied happily, a polite smile gracing their lips. He sat on the couch, beginning to fiddle with the strap around his torso and body. The woman smiled before being knocked over by the green haired boy, though he never successfully got to the blue-haired man, due to his own exhaustion.

"This is a mess..." a golden man mutters, reaching up to flick at the crown novelty on his... ear? Wait... is that his ear? His actual ear? Come to think of it, six out of the seven people present seem to possess these bear ears. Huh...

"Try to think positive!" the other girl chirped in a high, gleeful voice, seemingly wanting the others to look on the bright side. She seemed glitzy and glamorous from her outfit alone, definitely already ready for the promo they must have planned and simply trying to encourage the others to move as quickly as possible. Little does she know that her encouragement seems to slow everyone down further... "I believe everything will be alright and go as planned! So you should, too! I believe in us!"

"Aww~! That's my girl!" the older woman exclaims, clasping her hands to her chest in euphoria. She seems to be the mother, or at least motherly figure, to these people in front of her, although a few of the people definitely seem to be adults, meaning that the woman must definitely be older in age.

Then her eyes dart back over to the camera, suddenly realizing that it was actually on and transmitting their video feed. She gasps. "Nanokuma! You didn't tell me you turned the camera on!" The little child quickly apologizes, causing the woman to turn back to the camera. "My apologies for the show you've just witnessed. Ahem. My name is Motherkuma, and these are my children, or cubs, if you will. The red one is Monotaro, blue is Monokid, pink is Monophanie, green is Monodam, gold is Monosuke, and the one who looks more like me is Nanokuma.

"Before you ask, yes, we are the former mascots used to run Killing Games by Team Danganronpa. And we understand it can be frightening to see us after everything we've done, especially if you've been affiliated with us in the past..." She trails off, clearly thinking back to a time of deep, unimaginable pain for herself and her children. "...but I can assure you, we mean you no harm. And in fact... we're doing our best to adjust to our new lives and turn a new leaf, so to speak. To accomplish this, we're asking for a promo and possibly some interaction, if you don't mind speaking with us."

One of our soldiers snuck onto the surface and overheard something from Inanity’s conversation with Kurokuma. he said it sounded bad, but we got cut off before we could hear more. His last known location was at the ruins of the grocery store. Head there and see if you can’t find him.”

A Promo stained in blood.

*You were going on about your business until you came across a Television giving a gruesome news report. The scene is at a PizzaHut Restaurant.*

News Reporter: “We are here at PizzaHut where a horrific scene has occurred. The murder of all the restaurant’s staff along with many of it’s customers in a horrific massacre. Only three survivors were found at the scene. A young man with two little kids by his side. We are about to question him on the scene now.” *The camera moves over to a boy with red and blonde hair. He had an eye patch, a facial scar, and a purple eye. He was wrapped in some bandages as two kids was seen hugging him while whimpering.* “Tell us, young man. What is your name?”

“B-Bastion. I’m telling you man, i-It was horrible, man. W-We just came in to enjoy some pizza when suddenly some deranged maniac came in and started killing everyone! All because the employee had the wrong toppings on their pizza! It’s madness! Scared the hell out of my siblings and I. I did my best to stop the killer, but-” *The young man grown in pain as he grips his stomach. A red stain appears on the bandages.*

“BIG BRO!” *The two kids were on the verge of tears as Bastion fell over, with the doctors coming over to tend to his wounds.*

News Reporter: “Such a brave young man. We’ll have more to tell as the story unfolds. Back to you, Ken.”

Ken: “Thanks Barbie. As of this moment, no clues have arrived pointing to the identity of the murderer in question nor their whereabouts. So for now, stay vigilant and be careful. If you find any clues regarding any potential suspects, please inform the police immediately. We’ll have more after his commercial break.” *The report ends there as it goes to a random commercial. Someone stands next to you, looking at the screen.*

“Bloody Lance.” *Hm? Does he know something about the crime scene? Do you question him about it?*

Speaking of all those Killing Games. Like. Just kinda musing about the franchise as a whole in V3.

So, Tsumugi dresses as Junko when she meets with Motherkuma, right? That's interesting because it implies that, 53 Danganronpa entries deep, the franchise hasn't lost sight of who its big bad evil lady is. Within the fictional narrative of Danganronpa, this is still Junko's series.

Which is, of course, how it goes in horror. Horror is defined by its iconic villains. It's not Friday the 13th without Jason. It's not The Ring without Sadako. It's not Halloween without Michael Myers. Junko is Monokuma is Junko is Danganronpa.

By this point in the series, Junko's probably been a clone, a demon, a time-traveled past version of herself brought into the future, a cyborg, a zombie, a zombie cyborg, etc. As well as having had plenty of appearances where the explanation for how she came back was pushed off into a future entry that never emerged because the creative team changed and they decided to go in a different direction.

She's been revealed to have been an alien this whole time and then subsequently revealed to have not been an alien this whole time because that's dumb.

Makoto running into the Future Foundation announcing, "Somehow, Junko has returned!" and then that's the entire explanation.

It's just. It's a lot of fun thinking about the kinds of bullshit that might have been in 53 Danganronpa titles. At some point, you'd imagine they would have figured out that it's better for the long-term viability of the franchise to stop killing her at the end of each entry. But it's funnier if they never did, and legit just had to come up with a new way to revive her every time.

The Future Foundation ultimately succeeds in restoring civilization but then Junko carries out the Even More Most Tragic Event in Human History, colloquially known as The Tragedy 2: Tragedy Harder.

Just. Straight up western comic books with this shit.

Along with coming up with, fucking hell, 848 Ultimate Talents to fill the rosters of each Killing Game. The Danganronpa wiki in Tsumugi's reality must be insane.

Opinion on cats? Very important

"Again with the cats?" Monokid groans. "What's your deal? I don't want the damn cat."

"So you say," Monotaro retorts before turning back to you to answer, himself. "Hm... I suppose it depends on the breed. It has to be cool looking, but also be able to hold its own. In that sense, I guess I like wild cats more. Lynxes and the like."

"I don't understand why someone would want such an animal for a domesticated pet," Monosuke says with a sigh. "They don't really do much. They're like platypi."

"They're alright. I like to photograph them sometimes, but I feel bad for all the poor little strays..." Nanokuma remarks, flipping through the images in his camera where he got good shots of the stray cats where they live. "Trapped outside... either rain, snow, sleet, shine, or storm... Imagine how many die just because nobody cared enough to save them..." And with that, his eyes begin to tear up.

"I want one!" Monodam says with a rare smile. He likes anything cute because it manages to keep his mind off of all the issues in his life, if only for a little while.

"Hmm..." Monophanie hums for a moment inquisitively, before thinking of a good way to word her answer. "Cute, but I don't think I could have one. It might interfere with my career too much."

"Sorry, cat lovers. They ain't for me," Kurokuma says simply, taking a puff off his cigar. "That's not to say I mind 'em, I just wouldn't go out of my way to get one."

"Kitties are so cute and deserve to be protected!" Shirokuma beams, thrilled to be asked such a cutesy question about sweet animals.

"Hm... While I would prefer something that can better hold their own, I don't think I would let one die. If I had the opportunity to rescue a kitten, of course, it would be coming home with me... regardless of Kurokuma's views," Ball replies matter-of-factly.

"If my children could all agree that they wanted one— or at least turn out a majority vote— we could get one. Any kind they wanted. Hell, I wouldn't mind getting more than one. And I don't doubt their responsibility... most of them, anyway... but they have difficulty agreeing as is," Motherkuma explains gently.

Imagine- Tom and Jerry screwing up Tsumugi's game horribly. Like as soon as they show up at Team Danganronpa HQ, they're up to their usual chaos, trashing her documents, breaking the flashback lights and Motherkuma, everything. By the time Tsumugi gets the two caged and everything fixed, she decides "okay, I can work with this" and writes them into the script as a "these two are also There but they get executed early because Monokuma quickly gets fed up with their antics" and releases them onto the unwitting campus as soon as the introduction ceremony is over, with Monokuma telling everyone they broke out. Unfortunately for Tsumugi, Tom and Jerry somehow will not die no matter what she throws at them, and if they do, they certainly won't stay dead. Eventually, she just gives up and leaves the whole thing to its own devices, hoping that things will work out for her at least a little bit...

If there was one thing Tom and Jerry were good for, it was causing chaos for everyone, themselves included. But the way killing games went, it was usually chaos for the sake of good, even if they didn’t know it.

Who knew how they managed to get into the Danganronpa headquarters, but Tsumugi decided to just write them in to make up for them trashing everything she’d worked so hard to create.

But the thing was…they wouldn’t die. No way around it. So she just had to hope that everything would go smoothly, since they went off the script she so carefully wrote immediately, unchained by anything.

And since Tsumugi was in a character role herself, she couldn’t exactly get angry at them as the mastermind. From that point, though, nothing went right, not even the murder plans that had been set into action!

Everything was ruined. Before long, she gave herself up; she was clearly no match for two creatures who clearly couldn’t be tethered to her narrative, as hard as she tried. It was easier to give into more despair than try to fight them.

Just as Motherkuma and Hiroko were about to take action, they notice someone else who notices the scene taking place.* @human-monokuma

And true to that, Tenko lunges for the men, throwing one over her shoulder and slamming another into the ground, sweeping the legs of another and punching another man in the face.

also also one of the monokubs is now dead. which fits with my theory that one of them is going to die with each case and then we'll just have monokuma (and apparently motherkuma maybe i guess) left for chapter six.

intrigued by monodam saying he did it for all of them.

But second and most importantly, I'm sending you this text because Monodam has been.....silent. I didn't get all the details, but I think something happened between him and Pregame-Kokichi. Like I said, I don't know all the details, but it's clear that he's heartbroken. Or guilty. It's hard to tell when he can feel both at the same time. Think you can try to talk to him when you get the chance? I know it's your special day and all, but I'm really worried about him. If you could try to talk to him and snap him out of his...funk, that'd be great. Again, Happy Birthday! :)" @human-monokuma

Kokichi: AHIT IM ON Y WAY

It's clear he was already sprinting when he sent that, because very quickly, Motherkuma gets a knock on her door. Kokichi has several shopping bags on him and he looks horribly anxious. He's got several bags and boxes of snacks, a couple different movies, lots of sour candy, a large stuffed animal, a big blanket, and his emotional support cat, who is good at dealing with this. His gaze is just silently begging to be let in, wanting just to hug and hold his best friend tightly.
