The article "How to Survive a Home Invasion" by Randall Chaney, published on The Armory Life, offers practical guidance on defending against home invasions. Drawing from his extensive 37-year law enforcement experience, Chaney emphasizes planning and readiness in such dire situations. He recounts a real-life scenario where a victim effectively defended against intruders, to illustrate the importance of preemptive measures. The author outlines several defense strategies, including hardening entry points with improved locks, using early warning systems like dogs and motion sensors, and organizing family members for coordinated safety. Chaney underscores the need for an appropriate defensive plan, knowledge of local laws, and training in the use of firearms or other weapons. He concludes by discussing post-invasion actions, such as maintaining the scene for forensic evidence and handling interactions with law enforcement. The overarching theme is that a well-prepared individual, equipped with an effective home defense plan, significantly increases their odds of mitigating a home invasion's impact.

I'm buying an electronic door chime so I can get warned if mom tries to go wandering around the neighbourhood. And I'm just looking at these things and feeling kind of ill that the tools my ex used to exert control over me were significantly more extreme than the ones I think are appropriate for a person with dementia
#remibloggue#why the fuck are you living in a wealthy suburb thinking you need motion detector alarms on the INTERIOR of your house#the fact he had full control of it and i wasn't allowed to have the remote really gave the game away that is was 100% about controlling Me

PIR vs. Microwave Motion Sensors: Choosing the Best Detector for Your Space

PIR (Passive Infrared) and microwave motion detectors are two popular sensor types used in security systems and automated lighting. This blog offers a professional, solution-focused comparison of PIR vs. microwave detectors for both residential and commercial buyers. We explain how each technology works and dive into their pros and cons – from PIR’s cost-effective, low-power operation to microwave’s wide coverage and high sensitivity. Readers also get guidance on choosing the right sensor for spaces like homes, offices, corridors, or outdoor areas, with a brief nod to Sensinova’s motion sensor offerings.

Pulse Detector: True presence sensor for hospitals

Smart tech is changing healthcare fast. It's making patient care better, operations smoother, and energy use smarter. The True Presence Sensor is one such new tool built just for hospitals where getting things right matters a lot. Pulse Detector is a new True Presence Sensor that can spot even the quietest person in a room, including patients who are asleep or still. Unlike old motion sensors that need movement to work, Pulse Detector uses 24GHz radar tech to see tiny moves, like breathing and heartbeats.
This new way to detect presence means medical gear, lights, and climate control run when needed. This makes patients more comfortable and cuts down on costs big time. In this blog, we'll look at how Pulse Detector is changing patient monitoring and hospital automation in a big way.

I mistimed my long bike ride the other night (week of Halloween), so I was riding the last three miles in darkness. My tail light died and the warning light of my front light started flashing, so I was racing home (fiance offered to pick me up, but I was already close). I had a pretty safe route left, the bike lane is separated from the road and then pretty empty side roads with street lights, but I still cut the music. I was exhausted, there was no one around all the sudden, and I just had the heeby-jeebies for no reason.
And then one of those decorative motion-detector zombie hands popped up in someone's front lawn beside the road as I passed and scared the living hell right out of me! I yelled a startled "ah!" Which set off a dog down the block, I heard a lady in a nearby porch gasp a little "oh!" And then another person made a surprised sound, dropped something, then started laughing.
So anyway, that's the butterfly effect in action, I guess. I am not, in fact, ready for a zombie apocalypse.

Motion detector bulbs
What Are Motion Detector Bulbs?
Motion detector bulbs are intelligent lighting solutions by ESYSENSE that come with built-in sensors to detect movement. They automatically turn on when someone enters their detection zone and switch off when no motion is sensed. These bulbs offer hands-free lighting, helping to conserve energy and lower electricity costs. Perfect for locations such as hallways, stairways, garages, and outdoor spaces, motion detector bulbs enhance safety and convenience by providing instant illumination only when needed.
Benefits of Using Motion Detector Bulbs
• Energy Savings: ESYSENSE motion detector bulbs automatically activate when they sense movement and turn off when there’s no activity, helping to save energy and reduce electricity costs.
• Convenience: With these bulbs, you won’t have to fumble for switches. They illuminate instantly as you approach, making them ideal for hands-free lighting.
• Enhanced Security: Motion detector bulbs can help deter intruders by lighting up entryways, garages, and outdoor areas when someone is nearby.
• Increased Safety: Lighting turns on right away in places like stairways, hallways, and bathrooms, which helps minimize the risk of trips and falls.
• Longer Bulb Life: Since they only light up when necessary, ESYSENSE bulbs undergo less wear and tear, which extends their lifespan and lowers replacement expenses.
