I'm being spied on by an air freshener.

Sheila decided the bathroom needed freshening up so she came home with this.

The damn thing detects motion and immediately shoots a spray of not particularly pleasant fragrance into the air. And it doesn't care how noisy it is whilst doing it!

This is all well and good but at 3am, in the total dark? Scares the life out of me!

I just wonder what else it can do. Who is it reporting back to that I went for a wee at three in the morning with no clothes on? Who knows - there might even be pics of my bare arse all over the internet!

Found a way to get around Hux's ban on the uploading of an angry droid's consciousness to the Finalizer while still preventing folks from creating more work for me:

I built some simple motion sensors and placed them around the areas of the ship that are most dangerous for people who can't not break things. You know: sensitive computers, vending machines, lift buttons. That sort of thing.

With Katie's permission, I replicated her voice and programmed the motion sensors to use it to shout "I'M WATCHING YOU" whenever people get too close.

Let's see if that keeps people in line for a while.

It's been quite a long time since the last update, but I haven't abandoned this challenge, I'm learning as planned. I just didn't have time to make an update. I've finished the design of an unstabilised power supply (which is a part of this course). The second photo shows a PIR motion sensor, that will be used for a cat fountain, so that the pump only starts running, when one of my cats walks nearby.

Something odd I noticed here: the rim of R2's lower body where his retractable leg comes out has some of the motion sensor lights superimposed on top of it. This should normally be in shadow, but it looks like the the VFX artists were a little too aggressive adding areas to block out for effects. Or, as several people pointed out on Twitter, it may be the model that Kenny Baker would normally be operating, with the the leg tubes painted over.
