i’ve been playing undertale for the first time recently so i decided to experiment with some pixel art :-)

Day 8: Mountain

Since today I went to the summit of one of Hawaii’s mountains, I sketched Mount Ebott

OK, so this might be a very stupid theory, and way off base, but...

I've always wondered where the name "Ebott" came from.

I'm not aware of any cultural or language significance for it (I might just be really uneducated tho, so let me know if I'm wrong 😅).

But nearly every other name in Undertale seems to have been very carefully thought out and chosen. Names are very meaningful in UT, so what does the name of the mountain and city mean?

Then I realised.

Ebott is the phonetic spelling of Toby, spelt backwards.

Just switch the y for an e, add an extra T, and you get a place name from the developer's first name.

Do you think in undertale when all the human kids went missing at Mt Ebott over time like the authorities didn't really bother to look for any of them because "nobody comes back from Mount Ebott" and do you think there would've there been like. People protesting about how children have gone missing and nothing was done do find them

Because obviously not everyone's just straight up evil or whatever, a lot of people would've legitimately cared. There would've been like. People on tumblr making callout posts about the government in Ebott Town or whatever about their lack of action about missing children and how those poor kids could still be out there with nobody to come help them

People would be blocking the streets and have placards about like. Mr politics and the politics guys aren't doing anything about these 6 missing children we need to do something

But Mr politics and his politics guys would probably be completely blocking off the mountain for several months after that to try get attention off themselves until attention dies down

Looking at everything I've written I really have no idea where any of this came from. It's very strange. But it kind of makes the world of undertale feel more... Inhabited if that makes sense?

17. Does your system have a headspace? Are there multiple of them? What are they like?

we do!! we didnt have access to it for a long time. but after some Shenanigans. we do now! its made up of islands floating in the void of space, theres like a main 3 with some smaller ones, and then theres like. the pocket of void above them and also to the right thats the front room. which is just a place in space where there is a couch and also a trex nightlight and then some guest bedrooms. its separated from the rest of headspace by a Thick Fog (some people live in there also). the three islands all kind of have their own things going on, one is a big forest, one is a mountain with a town on one side and a big lake on the other, and the other is a city! its pretty sick
