In the 'Wildflowers' folder at the Developing Nature Gallery store, you will find five new pictures. These are Avalanche Lilys, they are found in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. These flowers were photographed at Mount Rainier National Park in Washington State.
Fifty two years on this planet. I decided to celebrate my birthday in the State where I was born, Washington.
I drive up to the Paradise Inn located at the base of Mount Rainier. Autumn is in full swing as the mountain meadows are turning colors and a slight nip is in the air. Before I even check into my room I hit the main trail towards the mighty mountain.
Epic vistas and a stunning waterfall…
Not to go all Norse Mythology here on my Lord of the Rings blog page, but the world around me has turned into Jötunheimar. I haven’t seen any Frost Giants (jötnar) (in actual Norse Myth they are known as trolls, gýgr for males or tröllkona if female) yet, but it definitely seems possible. There’s a cold mist as well that seeps the warmth from your body, so it’s going to be a fun trip down to the barn to feed the horses and get them hay :) if you’re in this weather, keep warm everyone
