Wooded Release
@mpcedric
Angela promised Cedric that she would make him take him out for a picnic if he would follow the steps to get released, and he done so. She still hesitated for a few days, wanting to make sure he was actually healed enough to take a trip out into the woods. The citizens of MP were always warned of what resided in the forest, but Angela saw it as a safe spot and knew the perfect spot for them.
Once they set the date, she had gotten up early to make their food. By the time she was done, she could barely lift the basket, but she knew Cedric was more than capable of doing so. And, after a quick greeting and their journey, Angela set out their blanket in a nice secluded spot overlooking a small lake, setting out the food for them to eat.
Satisfied, she looked over to Cedric. "I may have overdone the cooking again. But, let's sit and eat."

"Sorry, I should've mentioned. Yeah, we can be seen...do you ever get that suspicious feeling that you're being watched but no one was there?" He raised an eyebrow before nodding. Khonshu looked towards the house before shaking his head a bit. The garden was outrageous but yet so beautiful that he wished he could explore it like the palace of versailles gardens.
"You're sure he arrived here, on the side the night he arrived?" Khonshu walked with the other, keeping an eye on all around them. He was interested into knowing more about why Cedric wanted to know more about Will. It was an interesting situation, and it was about to get more messy.
The god worried what kind of mess up would happen if they were to bother something too out of place. He tried climbing up the gazebo carefully and positioned himself in a manner that he was easily hidden. He turned his head to try and find a good angle that his hearing could work at.
If it wasn't the past already, and the fact that they couldn't alert anyone from attention, he would've let his godly form out - or a part of the representation - he would've used his falcon head to see if it could pick up any better hearing than what his mortal body could.
"You're fully prepared to do this?"
Turn Back Time
"It is a personal matter." Cedric nodded his head, acknowledging what Khonshu had just mentioned. "But it is not a secret anymore. It is not a matter that it would be harmful for you to know." Cedric's voice is calm, reassuring, and devoided of emotion when he speaks those words. "It'll bring nothing to your daily life as a god. Just mere dramas from us puny humans, I guess." Cedric shrugged, his last words now spiked with some sourness towards the reality of his family. Before he knows it, Cedric's hand is fidgeting with his necklace's pendant, which is shaped like a knife with a 'W' engraved.
As Khonshu spoke again, Cedric looked at the god with mellow eyes, followed by a bow. "Thank you, I appreciate it Khon- wait. Should I address you formally in any way? Mr. Khonshu?" The question may have sounded out of place considering the amount of times they have spoken before. But wouldn't hurt to ask. After all, gods' pride can be an absurd thing.
Suddenly, the sky above them was no longer still. The speed at which it moved brought some discomfort to Cedric's eyes but the demigod did not refrain from admiring and witnessing Khonshu's powers taking shape around them. And soon, their surroundings felt eerily familiar as Cedric was now before his family's mansion. "I highly doubt I'll have the need for a second time but- noted." Cedric's skin tensed, his breath turned even quieter than usual and he felt like he was about to engage in combat. However, Khonshu's instructions snatched his focus away for a second. "Not get caught? We can be seen??" Cedric did not expect this, expecting their time-traveling to be most an illusion and keeping them invisible.
But Cedric did not wait for an answer, instead gesturing towards the small group of trees that separated the mansion's facade from the parking area. "I remember father dismissed the security patrol that night, keeping only the one at the gate. Most likely not wanting undesired eyes to witness Will's arrival." Cedric scoffed, cursing under his breath.
"But we're already inside the front garden so no need to worry about that." The mansion was your typical British rich family haven, with a pompous garden shaping around the parking area and the driveway that led to the old, iron gate. "We need to go around. Will did not enter from the main hall, which I always found odd. There will be a gazebo we can use to hide and perhaps listen." To anyone who was not familiar with Cedric's past, the house could feel imposing, given its size.

❛ you really don't fear death, do you? ❜
He chuckled at the question, still keeping count in his head as he watched Cedric working with the shoulder press machine.
"It may sound crazy, but I was dead once. The Duat was hot and beautiful," he admitted, the easy smile on his face implied that the experience was rewarding. There was a short stretch of pensive silence before he added. "Death isn't as scary as living though, if you think about it."
He then gestured Cedric to take a rest, observing his face closely for any signs of discomfort. He handed the other demigod a towel to wipe the sweat, asking. "Still good? Did you feel any strains or tension anywhere?"

Most Unexpected! 𖤐 Cedric
{{ Because nothing can ever just be correct or go according to plan! A starter for the half-sibling, @mpcedric
☽༺𖤐༻☾
🔮
  The red of her manicured nails presses into her temples and Malea wonders, not for the first time today, if perhaps there is a way to procure a lobotomy still for someone else. Or maybe for herself at this point. It’s a warmer day than most have been recently and while that is normally just fine for Babylon, it has to be this particular day that the air conditioning has failed. Warm, heavily scented air blankets the interior of the building and though she has had every window opened to help lower the temperatures, it hasn’t stopped the inevitable change in attitudes.
   Everyone is overly warm and thus overly snippy with each other. The beauties that are currently working are either draped over the lounge couches near as they can be to windows or in semi-heated verbal altercations with each other or various other staff. Outside her door the secretary that she has hired to take over for her prior one answers a call and tries her best to not seem utterly fried when answering. It’s not her fault— it is unreasonably hot in here.
   Malea looks at her watch again and is at least thankfully that when the problem was first realized she called for a company to send someone out to fix it. That said though, it has been well over two hours since that call and she is on the edge of delusional herself.
  “Ma’am,” comes a voice from the open door. It’s her secretary peeking in and some tall man standing just a ways away from her by the main desk. “Someone to see you.”
   She springs up instantly. At last! “Perfect. It must be the person they sent to fix the air conditioning. I’m coming.”
  Crossing the room and going out into the main area Malea puts on a polite smile and goes to greet him. “Hello, welcome to Babylon. I’m Malea, I’ll show you to the panel room where most of the breakers and other building hubs are. Did they tell you that the air conditioning didn’t switch on at all?”

the new guy;
@mpcedric
Much to his annoyance, Yoongi had been tasked with showing a new detective around the precinct on his first day. It seemed like a waste of his time, considering he could be working on open cases. Or cold cases. Or paperwork. Or even training Storm. But whatever - Osiris was a pretty lenient boss, but he was not going to take advantage of that and argue on every little thing he didn’t want to do. Pick your battles and all that.
So there he was, sipping a coffee at his desk while he waited for the newbie to arrive. He wasn’t even feeling too grumpy about it. Well, until the guy walked in.
He nearly groaned out loud, seeing the hulk of a man enter the office. Moon Yoongi was insecure about very few things - but his generally petite stature was definitely one of those things. He could only imagine how little he would look next to... what was the guys name, anyway? He glanced down at one of the papers on his desk as he set his empty mug down. Cedric. From England. Right. Hopefully he knew Korean, or this was going to be even more painful than it already was.
“So you’re the new detective, huh? Welcome to the MPPD.”

The familiar voice had Noel stopping on his tracks in surprise, turning to see none other than Cedric as a big smile painted over his lips. "Cedric!" He greeted, unfazed by the question or any undertone in it. It'd been far too long since he saw the man, and while they might not be 'friends', there wasn't a reason for Noel to greet him as if they weren't.
"Well, I'm a big fan of art pieces, you see." He teases, fully aware that the cheekiness of his comment might raise a few more questions. Truthfully, he just wanted to experiment a place like a normal person would; no secret planning, no efforts in figuring out the best way around vigilance, just finding out what it was like to enjoy something with no other intention aside from genuine interest.
"I'm kidding. I'm just giving this whole civilian thing a shot, you know? See if all the trouble I caused you to get here was worth it."

“Why do you always bite the heads off the gingerbread man cookies first?”
Holiday Starters: Offline!
A grin appeared as he finished the head of the fallen gingerbread man. "Why not?" He broke off a foot before eating that as well. "Why, how do you eat your men?"

( comfort ) : sender holds receiver while they’re sad / scared
it had just been a dream, of course.
just a dream.
but it felt real. the hands were back on him. the pain was real too, poking and pulling and prodding without any care. it was suffocating, feeling all of those familiar hands and vile words screamed back into his ears. he was being reminded of everything he had been and always would be: a demon. a monster. an abomination. nothing he could ever do would make him normal. nothing he could do would ever change what he was.
he immediately shot out of bed, his hair frizzled up and his ears folded down. his black tail was puffed up as well and he could barely keep himself quiet as he slowly folded himself inwards. the tears came before the sobs, which were quiet and practiced. crying at the orphanage meant no breakfast.
but he didn't care about no breakfast because it hurt. it hurt that he still lived tormented by all of those harsh pulls and sharp slaps. the sounds and pictures replayed in his memory, tormenting him. he didn't even hear cedric stir away until suddenly a warm hand placed itself on the top of his head, between his folded black ears. taho's first instinct was to pull away, but just that touch caused him to try and speak. instead, anything he could have said came out wet and jumbled, a mix of korean and arabic wrapped all in one.
a moment later, he felt strong arms wrap around him, pulling him back until he could feel a strong, chest press against his back. no words were spoken, except for taho's soft cries, the demigod curled up in on himself while cedric slowly pet his head.

" i swear to you, i don't know how this happened. i followed every single instruction, word for word! "
She looked over at his pan, not believing his words at all, "Cedric, are you sure that that was salt?" It was a recipe that her mother had taught her since she was a young child, and one that Blair obviously knew by heart. Never had she ended up with chicken that tasted so much like candy.

"Good morning Angela." Hecate's greeting is brief, but gentle. "You must be busy these days with the university's second term starting and the flood of students but-" Retrieving a small box from her bag, inside a necklace with a knife-shaped pendant with a ‘W’ engraved on the blade could be found. "I believe you should be the one giving this to him. Cedric's in the Asclepius Hospital and he's now allowed visits."
Hecate places her hand on Angela's shoulder. "I know it's sudden, but he is safe now and I believe he'd like to see you." The goddess held her to-go coffee mug and before leaving the shop, she added. "Seek me if you're still confused but I recommend visiting him first." She gave Angela a warm smile and nod before leaving.
Some time had passed since she spoke to Hecate, almost to where she had forgotten about it entirely. Though the nagging concern had eaten at her, she surely did not know what "complicated" had mean, and she had a rather bad feelings about it. Hecate's appearance grabbed her attention, though she had always greeted the goddess as she did the others. Her visage deepened that concern, because she approached her like someone prepared to deliver bad news.
Taken the box, she opened it to see the very familiar necklace. Popping her glance up to the other, Hecate finally announced it. Hospital? There it was. The bad news. "Understood. Thank you, Hecate." She finally speaks before soon waving off the goddess as she left.
It took moments for her to be prepared to meet the other, much similar to when she had visited Insoo. All she had needed was a small basket of food with his box tucked in and to set Siwoo up with one of her friends to watch him before she was making way to the hospital with a heavy heart.

Angela's heart broke for Cedric. She knew what it was like to be on the receiving end of such trauma without even knowing his full story. She had an assumption, and if she was correct, Angela could only sigh. Such a trauma shatters a person to their core. Once a lively and cheerful teen, Angela only recently was able to smile again, and that only came after years of her own work. She had not, though, had the network that Cedric did, and Angela knew she could guide him through all of it. So, she almost laughed at his comment. "I'm not untouched by darkness. I just hide it well." She states softly. "So, you could never burden me."
Though, this was not about her even if his pain ripped the seams of her scars. Angela kept her face calm, and she let him sob in her arms, wrapping slightly tighter so that he could feel some warmth through touch. A hand moved slow and softly, letting her fingertips graze the back of his gown. His concerned did surprise her, though he could not see it reflect on her face. She had been worried about him, so she guessed it was just the nature of their friendship. Yet, Angela was rather naive to even the innerworkings of her own heart.
Once his tears ended, she finally pulled away from him. However, Angela did not move far. Her hands swoop in to his cheeks, carefully cleaning his face of any tears that still littered upon his skin. "Don't make me task someone on your room." She playfully threatens as she wipes away his last tear. Though, her hands do not leave his cheeks. "Involved? I think you are looking at it wrong. But, I am glad you will give it a chance." She lingers still with a brief moment of hesitation before she finally broke from him.
"How about you give it that shot now? Have your talk and rest? Then, I'll be waiting for you once you are released."
Heart's medicine
The honesty from her words brought a wave of sentiment to Cedric's mind. He had endured a lot in the past months, took every moment of physical pain and mental ache in the shape of becoming nothing but a void, a shell of a human being. It was only in his solitude that Cedric would allow himself to release all the sorrow and cry silently. But such moments were rare, even solitude was something he had been stripped of during those months. The touch of Angela's hand was the last drop that made him break his mask, his eyes flooding and tears starting to run down his cheeks. "I can't bring this burden to you Angela." But Cedric didn't sob, there was no whaling voice of pain and frustration, even if that's exactly what he felt at that time.
Cedric was no fool to the idiocracy of his words. She was there and he was deeply thankful for being able to have her presence yet again. It was one of the things he thought about the most recently. But it was somewhat bittersweet, Angela was such a lovely person and thinking he had brought such concern, stung in his pride.
Seeing her move, the closeness made his heart skip a beat. Angela was warm, both literally and figuratively so Cedric couldn't help but to lean back on her, even if his ribs were nagging at him for doing so. "I… I thought I'd never see you again…" Despite wanting to protect Angela from the somber reality, at the same time, Cedric couldn't help but to let loose pieces of his heart. He had become tired of keeping his feelings for himself. But the demigod knew this wasn't the place or the timing.
Angela's suggestion wasn't surprising. By using simple logic, opening up to a professional was indeed the best course to take given the circumstances. However, it was easier said than done. "Perhaps I have to use my detective skills and make an escape plan." He jokes, feeling his mind becoming at ease the longer they rested in that position. "I just don't want to involve anyone else… But, if it means to see you and Siwoo again, I'll do it." Cedric's chest lifts as he inhales deeply, letting the air out and finally calming down his tears. "That sounds lovely Angela. I'll do my best, it's a promise."

“I get it, you’re brave. But, don’t do that, again.”
"Thanks, but I can't stand rats."
Lio almost spat the last word out in full disgust, then threw a half-unconscious robber down the dirted pavement. The purse that was snatched from a lady was safe in Lio's hand, and he quickly handed it to the son of Morrigan as he remembered who Cedric was.
"Please keep these disgraces off the streets,” the corners of Lio's thin lips tugged up as he said, the smile seemed friendly, yet clearly humourless, "for I won't be this gentle next time, y'know."

A Wild Night;
@mpcedric
Angela cursed herself as she stood before her mirror. While she looked phenomenal and the potion she drank from Hecate had temporarily made the scars on her shoulder and arm disappear, Angela was completely out of her element. She was glad her son was already with her babysitter because she had no idea how she could have explained the outfit to him. Shuttering at the thought, the ring of the doorbell pulled her from her thoughts.
She knew immediately that it had to be Cedric, and a part of her urged herself not to answer the door. But, she was too far gone, and so she crossed the house to open the door. Taking a deep breath, she reached up to straightened the curly red hair of her wig. After a second, she finally pulled opened the door.
“Hey!” She exclaims softly. Once the door opens, she takes a moment to survey the other’s costume. Willa had good taste, that she could not deny. Moving forward, her hand moved to run along his coat, her head nodding in approval. “Ced, your costume looks great.”

A Nice Catch
@mpcedric
Angela had been busy with working on the decorations outside in the morning. She was not the perfect gardener, but she knew just enough to keep up the main floral pieces that decorated the exterior. So, as customers started to slowly file into the cafe, she was atop a ladder, pulling the weeds out the last plant that draped over the door. Angela was so glad to be nearly done.
She had been blessed with peace. In moments of chaos from a sudden crowd trying to get their cup of coffee, Angela’s ladder got accidentally knocked, sending the demigoddess off the wooden frame and headed toward the ground. With closed eyes and not enough to think, the woman felt herself half mid-air, caught in the firm grasp of another.
Finally opening her eyes, they widen as she spotted who her savior was. “Cedric?” She spoke in nearly shock. Had it been nearly anybody else, she was sure she would have landed straight on the ground. And, she luckily felt comfortable being around Cedric. They had spoken enough times that she considered him a friend. So, as she rested in his arms, the spike of adrenalize slowly calmed enough to really address the situation. The firm grip around her waist, their close proximity, and her hands on his chest, it embarrassed her far too much, pulling a bright shade of red on her cheeks.
“Thank you for saving the day, Ced... But, you can put me down now.”
