Something Silly for Sunday

Jack tensed in Colin’s arms, so he tensed too, in a mental Oh, shit sort of a way.  She stirred, and came up for air, lifting her head from where she’d had it, nestled into his arms and enjoying the breadth of his shoulders and the depth of his chest.

Her eyes were narrow: “Did you… just… kiss the top of my head?”

Colin looked like a schoolboy standing next to an empty cookie jar.  She was doing that thousand-yard thing that he found so disconcerting: was she even breathing?  Was it bad to…?  He never seemed to catch her shaving it, but her hair never seemed to grow, either, and he’d gotten curious… She’s not even blinking!  Even thoroughly unnerved as he was, the detached Mr.-Captain-Sir part of his brain found the time to think I should encourage her to try training with sniper rifles, but then he refocused on the situation at hand.

“I… maaaayyy have,” he ventured.

Jack kept up The Look a beat or two longer, then let him off the hook.  Her lips spread into a broad, gleeful grin that smote Colin all the more powerfully to the heart for the way it seemed to chase the shadows out of her eyes, and she rolled on top of him.

“Dork!”

Eventually he had to quit grinning ’cause it was getting in the way of their kisses.

COMING UP WITH A LIST OF MASS EFFECT TAGS

There are different categories of content with a list of potential tags the Mass Effect trilogy and Mass Effect Andromeda fandom already uses. The goal of this post is to find the most popular tag used by the fandom to facilitate posting for content creators. 

If there is already a common popular tag in place like (CharacterA x CharacterB) we don't need to come up with a pairing name such as "beautiful lilac from the clouds", right? But if there is such a pairing name being used as a tag, we need to know...  Sometimes it’s the opposite. We have a pairing name but it's not the one used for the ship's content tag... In that case, we need to know the tag, that’s our priority.

I'm counting on all your help: you can reply, reblog and correct/confirm/suggest.

Once I get all the suggestions, confirmations and corrections, I'm going to make an official post and link it to the Mass Effect Resource Hub.

Don’t Ship It [As the canon stands]

Why don’t you ship it? I realize other people will have a different opinion on this but for me, it's the large age difference between her and Shepard in canon. That's why I don't have strong feelings about the ship either way but I don't personally ship it since my youngest Shepard has the canon birthday and I'm not really comfortable with an age difference greater than 5-6 years. If the wiki is to be believed, Jack is only 20, 21 at the most, during ME 2. Making Shepard almost a decade older than her if you use Shepard's canon age. Canon Character ages are one of the few things I don't touch when rearranging canon for my fic

What would have made you like it? It's not that I don't like the ship, I actually shipped it until i found out about the large age difference. If Jack were a few years older or Shepard a few years younger I would definitely ship it, especially with an Akuze or Earthborn Shepard.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it? I adore it despite not shipping it. and i definitely see the potential for them to bond over their shared experiences or different experiences.
