a crossover between them? I think it's worth it after all they can travel between dimensions so it's a funny moment.

-I don't know what furry is, but we are thundercats and defenders of the third world and the new thundera.-explained Lion-o. Elias widens his eyes at Lion-0 trying to process what the young master of the thundercats had informed him, a few seconds later when he was about to say something Abel interrupts him, moving him away from Lion-o.

-Whether furry or not, they behaved like warriors and know the enemy well, so don't underestimate them based on their appearance, we need to fix this bag of bones, he turned Miss Swettie into a sweet pink pig. Miss Swettie had turned into a pig for defending Willy Kit from Mumm-ra and was in Abel's arms, very sad, he was stroking his friend who received the affection with pleasure.

-Well, but he's very nervous, unfortunately for you, you had a psychopathic neighbor to live with in the third world in…that's bad luck.-Said Nay, who was paying attention to the strange group, examining them in detail just by looking and there was no serious sin. in them, after all she could see people's mistakes.

Before Elias responded, a familiar and irritating scream sounded in the caves ''EL DIABLO'' everyone was looking for where the irritating sound was coming from when Nay saw him pointing his finger towards the right there he was C.Bridges accompanied by Pumyra, he waves very euphoric, but ends up dripping and rolling until he hits a nearby rock, Pumyra goes to meet Bridges and helps him to get up.

His vision was blurred, he shook his head to get rid of the dizziness when his vision stabilized his eyes looked at the sweet little pig, he approached them and his stomach started to growl, his eyes shone as he looked at the sweet little pig who realized the intentions of the blonde man, he looks at Abel and asks:

-Hey El diablo. Let's eat this nut? I'm hungry, she's very chubby, let's cook over a fire right here.

There wasn't even time for Bridges to finish his sentence, the little swettie pig became aggressive and made loud and noisy squeals, Abel tried to hold her but he couldn't, she attacked Bridges, biting him, headbutting him, he tried to defend himself. , the swearing in English and Spanish was clear, the unusual scene made Nay, Elias and Lion-o and Pumyra laugh at the situation, with great difficulty Abel managed to get Swettie out of Bridges' company, he picked her up on his lap and gave her a kiss on her forehead, she calmed down and her eyes shone, he caressed her and she remained calm.

-No one is going to eat you, you crazy woman, I'll kill anyone who thinks about putting you in the pan.-He said this, caressing the tattooed man, moving away from Bridges in an attempt to calm Swettie.

-Hey, are you okay Bridges?-asked Elias, bending down very close to Bridges who was in pain and dizzy from the beating of the pig.

-I never want to hear bacon again in my life Elias, this is Bridges promise.''

MagiCat Queen and and Panthera

There is some similarity between the two characters (hard to tell if intentional or accidental). Makes one wonder if they could be related (I guess Panthera being an ancestor of the MagiCat Queen) in a SPOP (or MOTU) x ThunderCats (2011 or classic with elements of).

Though I wonder if the MagiCat Queen is indeed Catra's relative (mother or sister?), would Catra be also descendant of Leo? I guess then she inherited being a leonine (kinda) shortstack from him (I guess a recessive trait i the MagiCat Queen):

It's not the first time there are odd similarities/connections between MOTU and ThunderCats (outside of even outright crossover)

Profiles in Villainy

Mumm-Ra

The demon sorcerer Mumm-Ra is the self-proclaimed ‘ever-living source of evil’ on Third Earth, possessing mighty magical powers and an ageless lifespan. Although in truth he is the bound servant to the Four Ancient Spirits of Evil who provide him with power and virtual immortality to further their pursuit of spreading their dark influence throughout Third Earth.

Residing within the Black Pyramid amid the ruins of an ancient civilization, Mumm-Ra exists in a decayed, weakened form that must return to a stone sarcophagus to replenish his energy. He can summon the power to transform himself into a more vigorous, muscular form (Mumm-Ra, the Ever-Living) by reciting the incantation, “Ancient Spirits of Evil, transform this decayed form to Mumm-Ra, the Ever-Living!" In this form he possesses incredible strength and vast magical abilities; yet will lose these powers if tricked into gazing upon his own reflection.  

These Ancient Spirits of Evil task Mumm-Ra with destroying the Thundercats and obtaining the powerful Sword of Omens.  He battles the Thundercats on multiple occasions, even enlisting the aide of other villains, including the Mutant Army and the Lunattacks.  And yet Mumm-Ra is never able to succeed in accomplishing his goal.  As a final punishment for his repeated failures, the Ancient Spirits banish Mumm-Ra from Third Earth, trapping his essence in a nether-realm.  

In the 2011 reboot of The Thundercats, Mumm-Ra is an evil sorcerer who leads the Lizard Army in overthrowing the Kingdom of Thunderra.  The 2020 series, Thundercats Roar, presents a version of Mumm-Ra more in tune with his original narrative. 

Actor Earl Hammond voiced the villain in the original series; while actor Robin Atkin Downes voiced the character in the 2011 series; and actor Patrick Seitz voiced him in ThunderCats Roar.  Mumm-Ra first appeared in the second episode of Thundercats, airing on January 23rd, 1985.

So, when picking up the new Transformers, I saw that Dynamite has released a new Thundercats comic! Now, the original show was before my time and Thundercats Roar just really isn't my speed, so my main exposure to the franchise is the short-lived 2011 series.

So what did I think of issue #1?

Hm.

Basic background: Thundera was ruined, so the cats left, escaping the Mu-tants, and have landed on Earth 3.

I don't have too much to say about most of the characters as we haven't gotten much time with them. Tygra having a handlebar mustache threw me off at first, but I warmed up to it a little later on.

Then there's Lion-O... Hm. Some curious choices were made... They're going to need to convince me that these were good choices. Currently? Don't like the guy much at all. Like, I understand that he's going through A Lot(tm) right now, however, we aren't given any moments to actually sympathize with him.

Also, I have no idea what the time frame is here. It looks like they've been cruising amongst the stars for at least a decade, but Slithe mentions it's only been months?

Personally? The story is feeling rushed. We didn't need to get hints of Mumm-ra just yet. We didn't need to get into an involved fight with the Mu-tants just yet. Personally, I think the Mu-tants shouldn't have shown up until the last page or two. Like, show us the group exploring and getting used to this new land, show us Lion-O trying to behave like he had before only to realize that his new circumstances won't allow him that anymore and give us some actual distress, then give us some good moments of dread when the Mu-tants show up and the crew realizes how short-lived this time of peace was.

I don't know where the writer is going with this. This is only issue 1, after all. However, with what we've gotten so far, I don't currently feel like this was the best first chapter.

Lion-O really had the absolute worst luck when it came to love on ThunderCats 2011. He fell for Cheetara and thought she felt the same way only to find out later she was already in love his brother. Then he falls for Pumyra, seeing the good behind her rough exterior, only to learn she was a traitor and had been aiding Mumm-Ra the whole time!

If you made a season 2 of thundercats 2011 what would you change?

I won't have Lion-O and wilykit getting together, that dude does not have to be with every single female thundercat. Probably create a new Character for a love interest; maybe another species to really show how accepting he is and by extension his new kingdom has changed from their bigoted past.

I'd also give Pumyra a redemption = death ending. Like she realizes all the pain mumm-ra caused and how he truly did not give a shit bout her. So in the final battle she gives up the last bit of her lifeforce for Lion-O to strike him down. As she dies she forgives Lion-O. She gets a proper burial too.

I'd also not have Lion-O spend so long in the book. Have him learn to grow without consulting the book every time. His older self is present in the very last episode as a timeskip.

Analysis of the Contents of Quill’s backpack

One of the things I’d like to point out is that Peter Quill’s backpack contains a Panthro action figure, which is not only fitting since Thundercats aired from 1985-88 (perfectly fitting in the age bracket for Peter to have seen it from when he was 5-8), but the Thundercats themselves were Alien man-cats; when the scene where Gamora looks through Quill’s backpack transpires the Guardians are on Counter-Earth, which not only sounds a bit like Third Earth but is populated by sapient humanoid animals. Hell, the 2011 iteration of ThunderCats had plans to reveal that it was Mumm-Ra who created the Animals by mixing animal and human DNA in a series of experiments similar to what the High Evolutionary was doing (had the series not been canceled).  What I’m trying to say is that James Gunn is a genius (but we already knew that)

… I know absolutely nothing about your story.. but I keep think of how your Tygra would definitely be that one chaotic lil shit of a sibling, who teases the fuck out of Lion-O, but if anyone else tries to mess with his little brother??

Boy be throwing hands faster than Mumm-Ra clears a room with his musty self and nasty rotting breath..

Thank you! I’ll get to it then since I have a lot on my mind for like a first couple of chapters for for the first three episodes of the 2011 show of the ThunderCats { definitely gonna recon the shot out of Tygra’s personality to make him more of like the OG }

I have future thoughts in mind that I have for this fanfic but I’m saving those for later 😏

Basically my human oc figured out dimensional travel { she smart af } and she was trying to find a way back to Third Earth { when she went the first time as a kid she thought it was a dream 👀 } but when she does find a way, she fucks up her coronets and ends up falling into the throne room ceiling meeting Lion-O again after years of being apart { Tygra, Claudus and Jaga too but her and Lion-O always had a cute little bond going on 🥰 }

Just a little tidbit about the storyline.

Today's hollytober: Thundercats on Brazilian beaches done in the traditional way. Seriously, I tried to imitate the original line, it took hours, my teacher liked me, I passed, I got a high grade.

2011 Thundercats was the best! (I still shed a tear over it being cancelled.) I am honestly pleased and intrigued on how you'll blend it into the Kverse. It also follows the trend of Doom introducing villains much cooler than he is into the universe lmao.

It was a pleasant surprise! I wasn't expecting too much, to be honest (I figured it didn't have much time to really developed with a single season), but I was pretty impressed with everything it accomplished. Definitely some stuff that didn't age super well - the Tygra-Cheetara-Lion-O love triangle in particular earned many an eyeroll from me - but it's strengths definitely outnumber its weaknesses.

Also, shush you, Doctor Doom is cool! :P but yes, Mumm-Ra was very cool. I actually really loved the flashbacks with him - he's as evil as they come, of course, but he obviously had a soft spot for Leo, and I love that it blindsided him alongside his general dismissal of the Animals as sapients.

In all honesty, I was originally only interested in watching the show to have some better context for my "Catra is descended from ThunderCats" headcanon, but I think they deserve to:

a) still be around (I actually planned on them being long gone), and

b) have at least some significant role in the cosmic side of things

It won't be the biggest role, but you might expect to see them around down the line (probably after Eternity in Promise is finished)
