It was the same old pool. The water was blue, the missing tile on the side where someone threw a bottle on his first party still missing, the same springboard from which Tommy made him fall almost killing him in the process. It was the same. But somehow. It wasn’t. He couldn’t hide the shivers down his shoulders every time the kids were playing at his home, especially when they got closer to the pool that now brings him bad memories and feelings of guilt. “This is so cool Steve!” Dustin says, before running toward the pool and cannonball dive. “Don’t run!” He scolds him, even if the boy is still underwater. His breath quicken, and he quickly got up, ready to jump in the pool and save the kid from any monstrous thing that could have come to get him. A hand on his shoulders stops him for a moment, he turns, ready to yell, and finds Eddie’s eyes smiling back at him. At the same time, he hears the sound of a resurfacing Dustin who is screaming something at Lucas. “It’s ok, big boy. Why don’t you sit with me for a little while?” He suggests, but Steve has to keep an eye on the kids. He has to keep an eye on the pool. He has to! Eddie lets him turn around, still smiling, then takes some sunscreen “With all your moles you should take better care of your skin.” He scolds him while rubbing the lotion on his back. He nods, eyes pinned on the pool. Eddie sighs, starting to work on the stiffened muscle on his back. “This would work better if you were lying down on a bed. Maybe with some candles and some music.” He whispers “After a hot bath. Me and you in your stupidly big bathtub with all your mum's bubbles. The good ones, with the fancy names.” He continues working knots by knots on his stiffened back. Eddie’s breath on his neck makes him shiver. They are not out, at least he is not, and Eddie respects that, but they are closer than anyone. “Steve! I’m hungry! Weren’t you supposed to buy us snacks? What kind of pool party is this?” Erica Sinclair complains, and he would get up and bring the snacks, he really would if he wasn’t hiding his erection under the towel on his lap. “Lady Applejack, our kind lord provides you with more than enough. If you want something else you ask politely and we will see.” Erica grumbles, offended, and Steve tries to relax in Eddie’s arms. “Thank you for saving me.” “You are welcome, big boy.”

Random facts: hmm 'kay so we have this old pony from Sweden who hurt her eye when she was younger and is blind in the eye. And now the eye is prone to growing more veins than it should, if I understood correctly? Usually when it happens with cats and dogs the eyeball gets removed, so that's the long term solution, though we'll have it done in spring/summer.

4. What's the one thing you feel like everyone knows how to do except you?

Oho. Literally everything. Life as a whole. Everyone makes everything look so damn easy and it leaves me wondering what went wrong with me (I know damn well what's wrong with me lmao but I don't wanna change it)

Oh but to be specific it's hard to explain so I hope I make sense but appearances. I know even the prettiest people have their insecurities but it seems like everyone else knows what to do with themselves. Whether it be hair, clothes, makeup. I have to ask my bestie all the time because it's the one thing I don't get is how people are like "imma do this! I think it'll look cool!" Like how are you SURE? How do you just know what looks good in you and what doesn't?

It took me five years to nail my eyeliner. Fucking eyeliner. And it'll probably take me another five to figure out if I can even wear eyeshadow.

10. What's your boring hobby (that you still enjoy anyway)?

This is another hard one cuz I do quite a bit of hobby hopping now. In the span of a year I went from jewellery making, cross stitch, painting, clothes making, and clay. I didn't have any hobbies prior to that, let alone "boring" ones so I don't really have an answer haha.

13. Tell a secret.

See my initial answer was to say my maladaptive daydreaming, except I slapped that in my intro post haha. And anything else that comes to mind is actually unwarranted trauma dumping I think. So we're gonna stick with the MADD but make it dramatic:

I've had seven (there's way more but they're the core ones) imaginary friends since I was 14. I'm currently twenty, and hoping they don't go away, there have been a couple times I've "lost" my ability to daydream and I felt so broken because they stem from a time I was so lonely I only had myself and I love them so dearly. So if you ever see me talking about my OCs (original characters), I mean them. I'm so unbelievably attached and can talk about them forever haha. Maybe if I see an ask game about OCs I'll answer about them hehe.

23. Do you believe in an afterlife?

Nope. No belief in any kind of higher power. My only fear is that you're still somehow conscious after death, just experiencing nothingness. It's mainly because I can't imagine everything just switching off.

31. What are you looking forward to right now?

Hmm maybe getting round to my project where I wanted to make a dress. Maybe it's my delusions of grandeur because I keep hoping it'll turn out perfect haha.

Being able to see my best friend for a proper hangout again too. I miss being able to see her whenever we wanted to <3

Red. I just really like red. When I used to get up really early and the sun was rising it'd look so pretty and red and pink.

The Wife

One | Welcome Back

I stared nervously at the doctors bald head. My eyes were wide and I felt nothing but a sense of discomfort as he pulled away from my parted legs. The doctor tore off his gloves and tossed them in the bin beside him, I looked down at the slightly bloodied gloves and got even more nervous. My entire body clammed up. I wanted to die.

Beside me sat a familiar face, that of Thomas Shelby. My husband.

Immediately, I felt at eased as he looked at me. His blue eyes could heal the world from its maddeness. It was engraved in my soul, feeling safe around Thomas was kind of a given. When he noticed me staring, he leaned in and brought his lips to my ear, my eyes fluttered shut and I listened for him to speak.

"I'm going to fucking kill you if you're pregnant." Thomas states in a low growl.

I hold my breath but turn to meet his eyes. My mouth flies open.

"Well lucky for you, Joanna, you aren't pregnant." Dr. Moore says and pulls off his glasses. He brings his attention to Thomas now, and frowns. "I don't like those kind of threats in my office, Mr. Shelby. Even if your wife is apparently committing adultery."

"Yeah, Thomas listen to the man." I take the doctor's hand, who helps me sit up. "Thank you doc." I smile.

"You're welcome." He replies before standing up. "Medically, I don't have to prescribe anything but might I suggest marriage counselling for the both of you."

Dr. Moore has been my doctor since I was a child, and Tommy hates that another man has known me for longer than he's known me. It's sick and twisted but I fell madly in love with sick and twisted.

I pull down my dress and pull up my underwear, turning to Tommy I laugh. "He doesn't believe in marriage counselling."

Thomas shakes his head. "I also don't believe in divorce. Once you marry a Shelby–"

"You die being married to them, even though you hate each other." I add with a light hum. Turning to doc, I widen my eyes and mouth, HELP ME.

Dr. Moore shakes his head, "That doesn't sound healthy. What does your mum and dad think of this, Joanna?"

I laugh, but this time it's in fear. "They don't know about any of this. They thought we got a divorce when I went away to the south of France."

Thomas gets out a cigarette. "Your parents are enablers."

He gets up and walks towards the window, cracking it open he looks outside. It's a gloomy day, and Tommy looks perfect along the London street. He looks divine, dressed in a long black coat and a professional suit on. I know he got all dolled up for me, for goodness sake, he even smelled golden. Thomas wore a brand new suit for me when he picked me up from the smelly ship dock. I know he wore a brand new suit because the tag was still on his blazer. I was flattered.

"You say that only because they hate you." I scoff, folding my arms over my chest.

"Alright! Out!" Dr. Moore claps his hand. "I will not stand around for this no longer. Mr. and Mrs. Shelby, have a good rest of your day."

"Alright old man." Thomas barks.

"Thomas!" I hiss, before turning back to my doctor. "I do apologize for my incredibly rude husband."

Dr. Moore only shakes his head, he escapes the room before Thomas lights his cigarette. Something that is not allowed in such establishments.

"So are you glad you're not pregnant?" He asks me, grabbing my purse from the examination table.

"Of course I am." I hiss. "God forbid I end up carrying a child that isn't yours."

My sarcasm makes a hint of joy creep up on Tommy's face. I almost congratulate myself. He strides over to the door, and yanks it open, open for me. "Go ahead, princess." He nods.

I roll my eyes, leaving the room. "Just say welcome back, you prick."

He fixes his coat and runs a hand over his face, "Welcome back you prick." He murmurs.

I walk in front of him, and knowing he can't see me, I break into a big smile. Ah, hopefully, it's good to be back.

Trivia:

When she was younger, she often liked to pretend she was a dragon or dinosaur, due to her appearance. She still does this now but only occasionally. She once caused Samantha to have an existential crisis during one of these incidents. She doesn’t just pretend to be dragons and dinosaurs; she loves them too.

She treats the Egg Bois like they are her siblings. Most of the time, she gets angry at her dad when he mistreats them.

She has very bad claustrophobia (fear of confined spaces) and cleithrophobia (fear of being trapped). When she is hanging upside down or is asleep in bed, she doesn’t like her wings to be wrapped around her. For example, she sleeps on her stomach with her wings in the air, which sometimes fall down on Kitty as she is sleeping and cause her to wake up.

She is a social butterfly. She loves to talk to people and will be the first to start a conversation between her and anybody. This talkative nature plays into how she shows affection (which is through her words).

Like Samantha, she is a daddy’s girl. Her and Sir Pentious have always been close since she was born.

She eats mice and fruit, but she doesn’t eat rats because she doesn’t like the taste of them. She has eaten a bird once.

She calls Sir Pentious Dada, Mixie Mum, and Cherri Ma (so she doesn’t confuse her with Mixie).

If she sees Kitty crawling on the ceiling, she will fly up to her and fly around her happily.

She has been with Kitty since she was 16. Before that, they were close friends.

She is terrible at singing, but that doesn’t stop her from doing it. One of the reasons being that Kitty finds it charming.

Eddie sighs, starting to work on the stiffened muscles. “This would work better if you were lying on a bed.” He whispers “After a bath. Me and you in your bathtub with all your mum's bubbles.” He continues working every knot on his stiffened back. Eddie’s breath on his neck makes him shiver. He is not out, and Eddie respects that, but they are close. “Steve! Weren’t you supposed to buy snacks? What kind of party is this?” Erica complains, and he would get up for the snacks if he wasn’t hiding his erection under the towel on his lap. “Dear Lady Applejack, our lord provides you enough.
