fun fact i was thinking about the other day: when mochi opens the cats cranny bookstore and works there on the daily, if the customers ask she tells them "Oh I just work here!" and for any important matters she says "I'll let the owner know."
so anytime someone comes in and wants to talk to the owner she goes "Let me just go back and ask her." and then goes back and talks to pom for five minutes

✰ 𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐘𝐈𝐍𝐆:
with his name in lights, sold out concerts, and billboard 100 charting rap songs, a list rapper and full time “bad boy” jamari gardner - known widely by his stage name, murda, has lived a life that is filled with money, drugs, and everything his heart could’ve ever wanted. or so he thought.
after his latest string of crash out, piss poor behavior that has his name circulating more often than not for his publicity stunts for attention rather than his music - jamari’s image to the public is a stark contrast of what the people closest to him know him to be.
with his face plastered all over tmz, lipstickalley, and other gossip blogs at the center of a wrong place, wrong time situation that has his name involved in a murder case, his record label had no choice but to issue him an ultimatum -
either straighten up his act, or pay back the advance given on his contract.
shipped back to the his hometown of woodbury, georgia by his team with the idea in mind of doing a complete detox while they handle the pr massacre left behind in atlanta, being back in his old stomping grounds has jamari facing the lights of what his fame and fortune really mean to him, and if it’s even worth it at all in the end.
and as he rebuilds connections he thought he lost - like with one woman in particular - karma everett, a little detox from the noise and energy associated with his career could be just what he needed.

One person asked you to and you said it was formatted automatically or something but you would try next time. Very just shrugging it off. Then you didn't try or the formatting didn't work on the next thing you posted. The context is people thought you were either bullshitting and the formatting excuse was a copout so you could keep clogging the tag, or you were telling the truth but just didn't care to check. That's why people didn't come to you. That's why people bitch on discord. They didn't see the point in speaking to you. That one person told you they had arthritis and your response was like who gives a fuck. You post a long post in the tags again.
The fact you had to go back and format all your fic could be construed as very telling. Maybe some people would accuse you of bullshitting. I've never heard of readmore being automatically applied. Long posts are not always cut off, but even then it's just courtesy to always manually apply readmore to long posts. Not every one does so as you know.
Maybe this is just a huge miscommunication thing. Whoever spoke to Murda was well intentioned but it was ill put. They should have spoken to you upfront even as it might have been a waste of time.
To the person worried about posting their writing, seriously, hold up a minute. When did it become about that. When did become about you, anon? Stop fishing for sympathy from a popular writer just to get attention. Nobody is bitching about fic where I am , it's about how it's presented in the tags. Nobody likes being confronted by a huge wall of text when browsing. We are only human and vent on discord. But we don't slag off the content of the fic. Because people don't use readmore we end up losing out on finding good writers and fic because the first impression is so so so bad.
Welcome, anon.
Long post, so readmore 🙃
First of all I do not "shrug off" the anons I get. If it sounded like that, it wasn't intentional.
And yes. 99% of the longer posts I see (me personally, in the app that I use on my samsung phone and iPad sometimes too) do have the app's "see more" button on longer posts.
I do, not joking in the slightest, forget. I forget half of the things I'm supposed to do in life because I have the worst memory ever and it bothers me in my daily life. At work, everywhere. (Not fishing for shit, just stating) and wtf I shouldn't even have to defend myself like this but here we are.
Also why would I clog tags?? I block people who's content I don't wanna see in tags or who spamtag. Wanna see my blocked tags and users? I'll post them for you.
"Maybe this is just a huge miscommunication thing." Please read rhe above statements.
I'm not adressing that anon further. It's not my place.
"Because the first impression is so so bad." Is one I can't wrap my head around. I scroll the tag casually and find cute fluff. I see angst and mayor character death, hell I've seen Dixon insest fics (Not hating, if the writing is good I applaud you for your works) so, where is the "bad first impression" coming from? My posts are not that frequent nor popular to be always at the top of the searches.
I'm running out of words.

Have you heard big foot? Thoughts?
Yes! I liked it as a freestyle for what it was, raw and uncut. "Talkin bout Megan's law, For a free beat you can hit Megan raw, If you a ghostwriter Pardi(Party) in Megan Jaw" was insane lmfao. Like an episode of wildin out.
I love rap and battle rap but I feel like more people are focused the mess and the drama and memes rather than the raps but the internet is gonna internet.
If Meg knows what's good for her she will stay quiet so the internet can continue to play on Nicki headtop like she "crazy and doing too much" because she will never be able to out rap her or say anything about Nicki herself LOL.
Although I would say on Hiss, Meg had some of the Tina Snow fire back which shes been missing tbh from cobra, truamazine, something for the hotties (Megan's Piano was great tho). Although she really need to drop Lil Ju cause that beat did her no justice on Hiss.
For whatever the reason though the industry low key not really fucking with her so thats why I feel like she has to stay with Ju cause shes not gonna get zaytoven, metro boomin, murda beatz (she had one song that she got part the beat premade he wasn't the main producer working with her), atl jacob or tay keith to name a few. But she could really elevate if she could, but she is independent now and Ju probably aint charging her lol so.

Thoughts on Saltburn:
cc: E and Murda (@dustbunniess + @celtic-crossbow , who asked me to share once I did ♡)
Before I start, I want to say I’m only making guessing about what I think is being said so take my opinions with a grain of salt. Anyways, I already really enjoy the work on Emerald Fennell because I loved her film Promising Young Woman so I assumed I would like this one and I did! On one hand, I think I enjoyed pyw more from Fennell and from films that came out this/last year that are absurd and lust filled and make social commentary I feel like I enjoyed Poor Things more but at the same time I feel like these films are trying to do different things so you can’t compare. I was very interested in the commentary it was making about social class and capitalism, so I think that makes it intriguing on its own.
I think the most interesting part about it is that it seems that no matter how much you have, you always want more. And when that’s the case, you’re willing to give up so much of yourself or what you could be to get it. It’s sad and also shows you how vial us humans can be.
So many beautiful shots and of course I loved looking at the costumes and character designs! I was fascinated by the shots that showed multiple versions or reflected versions of Oliver. Light spoiler: there is that part near the beginning of the film when Oliver has his first breakfast at Saltburn or something where Venetia tells that story of a doppelgänger and I was wondering if that’s why Fennell decided to do shots like that because Oliver is the doppelgänger. Especially since even though he’s not like the Catton’s, in some ways he already is— greedy, prejudice, hypocritical— and he wants to be anyway and is willing to do absolutely anything to get there.
I could go on but I just have three more points for now; direct spoilers under the cut:
- Okay, now why was I more surprised about the ending then about the grave scene?? 😭 I did not except to see Barry Keoghan’s dick so many times lmao. It was creepily hilarious though and I’m happy I finally know why everyone has been dancing to this song.
- I knew he was going to do something bad and that we would be lying about something but I can’t believe he planned EVERYTHING. Like even the bike?? Omg. Also the scene at his parents house was so hard to watch plsss.
- And overall, basically everyone in this film is bad. I truly hated and felt disgusted by everyone. Maybe not Felix and Venetia… I feel so terrible that they died. They definitely deserved it the least but at the same time I also noticed that they didn’t mind their place society, knew they benefited from it, and weren’t trying to change anything. They just got lucky to be born into this kind of family where they could always fit in and not worry about wanting. I don’t know… I still feel bad for them though. Also for Farleigh. He was a fucking asshole and so terrible to Oliver even before the plot twist reveal, but ofc we cannot forget about how it’s awful the parents were so quick to throw him out. The stealing was bad but they do not understand what it’s like to not be white and rich and therefore they don’t understand the struggles Farleigh has to deal with when he’s not at Saltburn, how annoying it is to always ask for help, etc. Things like that and when Venetia said that Farleigh is more spoiled than she and Felix were was obviously dumb and crazy to say.

"Well, I guess it's not shocking that we've lasted this long." Mike admitted. "We did do pretty well that night in the cabin, well, til things went to shit." He frowned. "Maybe I shouldn't be hanging with y'all as an after thought."

A THRIFT STORE MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA TOO!!!!!!! just full of sweaters mochi makes and little magic items they pick up on their adventures.,.,.
(i also considered mochi opening a little knick-knack shop but i think lady magg-lynn would have some stern words for her for trying to uproot the magg-lynns antique business hehe)

Stella's Pov
Walking into the foyer, holding Erik's hand, I called my grandkids, Lua, Yarri, and Aja to come downstairs. Erik looked up at me, and I smiled, rubbing the back of his head.
Tumblr media
All three of them ran down the steps in pajamas and smiled, except for Yarri, who isn't the smiley type. "Mi wa yuh guys, tuh meet Erik; he'll be staying with you for a couple of days." I said. Bringing Erik towards the girls, introducing him to them. Lua and Aja smiled while Yarri folded her arms and said, "He's cute." Causing Erik to look away, blushing.

I gave Yarri a look and told the kids to show Erik around while I go call his dad, since he kept asking before we got here. He hesitantly followed them, and I blew him a kiss and waved them bye. I walked upstairs to my office. I sat down in my chair, holding my head in my hands, my head running with a million thoughts of how I was going to do this. I sat up with a determined mindset. T'chaka was going to, except for the fact that Erik was going to be there, and he was going to get to know his family, whether he liked it or not.

I picked up the kimoyo beads that Ramonda gave me last time I was there. I would have used my phone, but they sadly don't use those. Only when they have to come to America does it help them blend in. I pressed the bead to connect to T'chaka, waiting for him to answer. After a good while, he finally answers, and it appears he was lying down.

"What do you want?" He said it groggily. I glared at him through the hologram, and he chuckled, obviously thinking it was funny. As if I was supposed to forget everything that happened a day ago, fire grew in my belly as I got angry. But apparently, he thought that was funnier. I took a deep breath and smirked, leaning back in my chair. "I have the boy." I said, with all seriousness. He stopped laughing and glared at me, slowly getting out of bed, careful not to wake up Ramonda. He walked into the bathroom, closing the door and giving me the most vicious glare he could.

"YOU DARE DISOBEY MY ORDERS!" He yelled. I looked around the room, and before chuckling, I knew he wasn't talking to me. "Careful now, yuh, wake up, yuh, wife. And mi nuh memba eva taking ordas fron yuh." I said, laughing. He looked around the room before cussing under his breath in Xhosa. "And what do you plan on doing with them? Hmm, what will this solve? Don't you think he's going to hate you when he finds  out?"He chuckled darkly.

I turned hard as I leaned back forward. "Yuh, tink Intimidating and guilt-trippin, gon save yuh? Yuh murda dat boys fada in cold blood. As far as wah mi gon do, him gon get to know his family whether you like it or not." I said, dangerously low.

He put both hands on the bathroom counter, glaring at me, "over my dead body." He said, slowly. I smiled at him and said, "Well, mi guess mi gon have anotha body tuh turn into dust." I said, finally ending the call.

Even though I felt strong at that moment, I started to hyperventilate as tears ran down my face. I've never been so heartbroken for a child. But also for my friend. N'Jobu, T'chaka, and I grew up together; I was the oldest. I didn't really get along with T'chaka, but me and N'Jobu were the best of pairs; he was the kindest friend I could ever ask for. T'chaka had always had a temper and was spiteful when he wanted to be, never in public but behind closed doors. You'd think you were looking at another person. But never in my life did I think he could do something like this.

"Gamma! We're hungry." I quickly wiped my face and stood up, walking them back downstairs to get them something to eat.

P-Valley
I miss the valley already...
Video Credit: IG @pvalleystarz
Autumn was looking at Andre and his wife like she was about to kill someone with the lyrics.
Andre and his wife have both been wearing masks long before the pandemic. Andre was selling a lie, a fantasy he thought she wanted and she wanted to believe it instead of unveiling the man behind. Why did Andre wait all these years before being honest about his reasons for marrying his wife?
I loved the scene with Lil Murda in the fragmented glass and removing his gold teeth. It was an unveiling of his mask. We see the different men that make up Lil' Murda, the scared, the fearless, the famous, the one looking for validation and more. And he can choose which one to present at any given time.
And the variations of his memories flashing through his mind from his pride when he came to the Pynk to the first time he heard his song being played there and his entire journey to where he was now performing in the Pynk.
I remember when Keyshawn was helping him with overcoming his stage fright and told him to try performing nude and he was uncomfortable initially in season 1 episode 7.
"The same way you strip yourself naked on that track, you gotta strip yourself naked on the stage. See the crowd, that's who you are rapping to — now tell em' what you got to say."
But now, look who was performing shirtless and could look into the eyes of his audience saying the lyrics with confidence, no beat in the background. I love that scene because it really shows how he has evolved from the insecure rapper who wanted his beats to be good enough and now that they're slapping, he could just let the lyrics sink in even though that was also a testament of what he did and a threat to whom it may concern (Maine) in the audience.
And the whole scene came full circle with a collabo of the Mercedes Experience (the last show) and Lil' Murda when you remember their initial meeting of her disapproval to his bars to their reflection last episode and bringing that collaboration to life. They sure is fire!
The moment the beat dropped and Mercedes jumped down the pole straight to sitting and bouncing on the floor, damn!
I loved The Mayor Bishop Woodbine reveal. The way the scenes were edited, the montages from the performance at the club to Mayor Woodbine in some serious prayer sessions to Andre Watkins recieving a call from Wayne Kyle saying congratulations making it seem Andre won until we hear the reporter asking if he has heard from the Mayor Elect.
When Mayor Bishop Woodbine was doing environment inspection of the mayor's office and fell off the chair I was dying laughing.
I also loved the reveal of the Corbin deal with the front page news of the waterfront property deal coming to fruition. Corbin sure brought the water to him literally after all, he followed Uncle Clifford's advice. Uncle Clifford I see what you did there boo!
Keyshawn and Lil Murda hugging with the sunset lighting up their beautiful black skin under the clear blue skies. They've been through so much together. I wish she could have made it out. There was no investigation whatsoever. What happened to due process? So neighbors report a noise and automatically it's the black mom that's the abuser? Sigh... Derrick's got to go!
Someone needed to call out Autumn on all her shit. While she didn't force anyone to catch a body, still it was like she completely absolved herself and blamed them. Talking about interest after all them bodies, okay just one body but still.
I understand she ain't trusting, and she has a lot of trauma she is working through. I got where she was coming from business wise in regards to selling the club but as Uncle Clifford said, they was family and Pynk was home. I wish they could have come to a compromise though because I care about her character. You know what they say, hurting people hurt others. And say what you will, she made and took practical steps to help Keyshawn
Mayor Bishop finally did one thing right, handing Terricka over to Mercedes. It was fitting to see Mercedes finally in her gym and her baby with Sam Cooke Bring it on home to me. It was a breath of fresh air. Freedom at last! Old dreams were fulfilled and birthed the opportunity to dream new dreams.
Uncle Clifford letting Mercedes go reminds me of this quote.
"A good mentor hopes you will move on. A great mentor knows you will."- Ted Lasso
Sadly, in this finale, some people got their dreams and some didn't.

After, and only after Mercedes saw that she herself is a masterpiece, a beauty, a work of art, by way of Farrah showcasing her art through her own art of photography, was she able to appreciate the art in her sister Keyshawn (when they locked eyes while Keyshawn was performing was such a fulfilling moment) AND then was she able to release and receive what her new dream could be. She had her "aha" moment — a moment of unveiling the possibilities for her next phase (which it's seeming like she's gonna repurpose her gym to a studio to cater to adult women — a heels and stilettos type of class, for now).
Mercedes has been holding her breath under water and finally came up for air. To get that much needed breath. She was able to exhale. Seeing herself as the art she is, released what she needed to move forward. Miss mama was in total awe with herself! "I never thought I'd be on a wall like...I look like gravity don't exist." (cries tears of joy).
Farrah's dream reawakened because of Mercedes, her muse. Mercedes is discovering her next dream through Farrah, her appreciator and connoisseur. Their art really brought them together and reignited their dreams. Art truly does connect souls. (The artist in me was just on cloud nine with this episode!)
And what Farrah was telling her...how art, the art of Mercedes, makes you understand there is a God. Chiiile, Mercedes is good because we would've ran off together right then and there.
She came face-to-face with her own breathtaking art. Sis was sooo happy and proud (anytime Mercedes is experiencing happiness, I'm happy because she deserves to be happy). Farrah truly captured her in all her essence.
Y'all peeped those conversations the art patrons were having as Mercedes walked through the gallery...confirming everything about her strength and beauty and gift? Delightful! She needed that because she's been hearing the opposite lately. This exhibit, she didn't have to prove her value, the art enthusiasts saw it themselves and voiced their appreciation — therefore valuing her with their positive words. Mama still got it! Then later on, Lil Murda tells her she's a legend as she sits on the throne! She is. Praising her and giving her her flowers now. Farrah and Lil Murda were the voices of acknowledgment she needed from the people she knows. Who she's familiar with. Those encouraging and kind words complimenting and recognizing her was affirmation for her. Farrah and Lil Murda lifted her up right when she needed it.
What a full circle. The first time they met, Mercedes critiqued Farrah's art and now Farrah is critiquing hers.
Farrah turned The Mercedes Experience into an art exhibition (swoons). This is love. An act of love. She loves her!
Just get married y'all!
[Who is behind Mercedes & Farrah's story arc?! You/y'all deserve the world!!! We deserve a spin-off! And who was the actual photographer because those photographs of Brandee are beautiful!]
