it took a while for twin realities to settle in, it seemed, though donovan couldn't hide the beaming smile on his face once raven relaxed, and even returned, the given hug. in such a small moment, it felt as if everything he'd been through was worth it, for it all lead up to this singular place in time. reuniting with the only family donovan had.

"canada?" there was soft awe in his voice, wondering then what happened to raven. were they adopted, then? taken out to a different country for a better life? donovan's romanticism of such a thing came from his lack of knowledge regarding what truly happened, and his own childish wish. that's what he had told himself, as he grew older, that the other two kowalski's were doing better. neither of them needed scum like donnie in their lives. "that's amazing. i've never been out of the country," barely out of the state.

hesitance, perhaps, to believe such a thing. or - simply too young to remember. raven was too young to remember him. did he even know he existed? long fingers fumble quickly to reach into his pockets, producing a dog-eared wallet that contains 3 equally crumpled school photographs. samples, mom and dad never bought the real things, donovan pulls out one of raven. hair braided, messily, donnie had done it best he could.

"no. it's - it's alright. think i'd choose to forget it to, if i could," there is no mirth in the joke, handing over the photo. "see? that's you. your hair's always been super long, rae, i tried to do somethin' nice with it but," a shrug. "pennsylvania. i was 12 when we were split up,"

all at once everything flipped the opposite way of what raven had assumed the situation was going in. they'd expected the man to tell them to fuck off and they of course, would have done just that. instead they were trying to absorb the words coming from donovan's mouth. SIBLING? wait no, he said siblings.

they have siblings?

before raven could even begin to process that fact they were being enveloped in long arms. they tensed at first, but quickly softened into the brace and hugged him right back. he said their name and a sob caught in their throat before they could say anything in response. it gave them time to take in the rest of what he was saying. his name was donnie. they were separated? that must be what he meant by trying to find them. but he didn't look much older than them, he couldn't have done much to find them. especially when they were in an entire different country.

"you couldn't have possibly," raven finally managed with a shake of their head and eyes still wide in the shock of it all. "i don't remember much but i do know i was carted off to canada when i was eleven or twelve." to a place designed not to be found. raven certainly never blamed him or anyone else for any of that besides the red eye recruiters that lured them in. "you're really my, um, my brother?" it seemed so surreal to consider. how on earth could someone allow that memory to be washed from their head? raven felt horrible then, their lips pressing into a thin line for a second. "i'm so sorry. i don't remember anything before i got, um, before i went away." they weren't sure how to explain that. or even how to start. "where did we live before? when we were, um, last together?"

is there a solid way to tell apart ii, iii, and iv? i always mix them up : (

Hello Anon 🖤 Ty for the ask. I've actually answered this in this post for III and IV. I'd be happy to go over it again for you here and include II more. I'll be honest, the majority of the time they've been on stage, the three band members have worn literally the same sort of clothes, and it doesn't help that they all have blue eyes either lol. It gets easier eventually, I promise. This might sound odd, but you'll soon start to recognize cheekbones, hand veins, eye shape, and overall mannerisms that the Eepy guys have.

Some quick tells are: II - Drums, double scythe necklace, black painted nails, cola/redbull stains on his mask, short king III - Bass, checkered socks, man bun, stage right, long boi IV - Guitar, black paint stains on his mask (from Vessel's kisses and his own fingers), jewelry, stage left, also a short king

Something I didn't mention in the first post is that there is a single scythe necklace that's been passed around between Vessel, III, and IV. Most recently that necklace has been worn by IV but I wouldn't count it as a valid indicator unless you know who was in possession of the necklace at the time the photo was taken. Rings, on the other hand, could be a valid indicator. I've only ever seen Vessel and IV wearing rings on stage (if I am wrong about this, someone please correct me).

Something I did mention in the other post (and is quite honestly one of my favorite ways to tell the Eepies apart) is utilizing Vessel as a measuring stick.

If the Eepy guy is taller than Vessel, you have a III.

If the Eepy guy is shorter than Vessel, you have a II or IV.

hello, i saw your tags about how to tell the vessels apart and thought i'd clarify lol. they might appear looking the same at first but they all have very distinct looks and characteristics.

Vessel the vocalist is the one that's obviously the easiest to recognise bc he has a different mask and a full costume now.

you can obviously tell the other vessels apart from their instruments but also for example the drummer ii is way shorter than the other guys, he has really bright big blue eyes (he's being called mr boba for a reason lol) and wears a necklace with two scythes.

the bassist iii is a really tall slender guy that often wears checkered socks, has a lil bun at the back of his mask, often experiments with his look and has unmatched energy.

the guitarist iv has a really chill a bit flirty demeanor, my guy really radiates confidence. he mostly wears techwear and almost always wears a similar necklace as ii. but iv's necklace has a single scythe.

idk if this helped but after a while you can really tell them apart quite easily. 😆

Hello anon!! Don't worry about the questions, I'm always happy to help, even if I have answered before!

We don't really have "specific blogs" around here as per se. There's @sleepanonymous who's the resident Librarian/Archivist/Knowledge Keeper, and then there are some blogs that do exclusively fanart and fanfiction.

Otherwise we're all a mix of everything. Most of us do a mix of lore theories / analysis / fanart / shitpost. Since the band itself doesn't have an "actual" set lore, you'll find a lot of different takes for the same songs / themes. I think we all have our own takes on the storyline, so it's really nice to read everyone's different opinions. Please feel free to join the conversation!

• How can I submit my art/letter? Is there an address to ship it to?

Nope, there will not be an address. The answer to this will be: DIGITAL

Please scan your handwritten letter(s)/physical art; jpeg files can ruin the look when it is printed. In case you want to type something, you are allowed to do so. Send us a PDF file then (it makes things the easiest because of formatting the text, and it already the looks the way you wanted it to look like; same goes for digital artwork[s]).

For your submission(s) that Crow and I will receive, please write in the title your tumblr username and TLVN Book. For Vessel, you can write down your name/alias/tumblr username and the country where you are from.

Submissions can be handed in: Tumblr Direct Messages (Crow: murderiscrow, Lia: vesselsscarlet) or on Lia's Discord (Username: vesselsscarlet)

• I cannot write. I suck at it. Also, I am not artistic. What can I do?

Don't worry, we gotcha.

You don't have to be Shakespeare, Goethe, Schiller. You also don't have to be Monet, Van Gogh, or Picasso. It is all about conveying your message for him. In any way possible. You also don't have to worry about spelling mistakes, and messing up the tenses. We don't mind this. As long as Vessel can understand it in any way possible, you will be fine. This is you, this is your way of expressing your love.

• Is there a limit for the submissions? When is the deadline for submitting it/them?

Nope, no limit at all.:)

The deadline will be announced, as soon as we know more. But it will be 4 weeks before one certain live ritual which we will announce (follow the tag, so you will be updated).

• How can I make sure that I won't miss anything important?

Follow the tag. That is all we can say.

• Will the book be printed?

No. It is a physical one which we will craft and design with our pure hands. It will take some time because we are working from two different cities on it. But this will work.

is there an official or commonly agreed visual of Sleep?

Hi Anon! As for an official visual: no, the only thing we know from the official lore is Sleep's name (which isn't even his 'real' name) and that he's an old deity promising glory and magnificence for following him.

As for a commonly agreed one: there are certainly some repeating motifs (on Tumblr, I'm not venturing outside of here), but I wouldn't say we have one 'fanon' version of Sleep too.

Here's a lovely post by @the-speakeasy in which various people describe their versions of Sleep, you should give it a try!

As far as I know, the motifs that repeat the most are:

a creature with a lot of tendrils or tentacles;

a shadow;

sea creature-ish entity;

any type of creature with 3 pairs of eyes.

Personally, I don;t think Sleep has a physical form. He's a shapeless voice in your head. But a. i have aphantasia and b. i'm biased because of the malevolent podcast, really.
