So, I finally, FINALLY finished a project literally MONTHS in the making...from seeing @moonightroller announce Aquamarine and knowing I needed those boots because #BlueEverything & then hearing about Peridot coming out and waiting forever and ever for release, purchasing, shipping, etc. Planning my setup & slowly acquiring all the necessary accessories. Obsessing over whether or not I actually would paint the boots (or commission someone to do it?); asking advice on FB/@skatehags chat/talking to Blick Art salespeople. Psyching myself out and re-working mockups to finally taking the plunge and making that first irrevocable brush stroke...I finally present my Invader Zim Skates!💚🛼🖤🛼💚 Because I am that extra, I love a mix-n-match moment, I love Invader Zim (especially Gir) & once I pictured it in my head I could not get it out of my mind. Also, #BackInTheDay before I officially marked my territory on Aragorn we used to watch a lot of Invader Zim together, and he got my very first ever pair of grown up skates, and you know...#mushystuff 💗😊💗. So I wanted to make something that reminds me of all of this, and hopefully does not look too shitty. I spent the better part of February planning and executing just the art portion of these skates, buying painting supplies & hoping my eyes weren't too shitty to pull this off. With glasses, multiple LED lamps, false starts, and a LOT of goddamn patience...I pulled it off! Mostly! Of course, I can see all the mistakes and errors and things I cannot fix now, but after a few solid weeks of painting (and walking away to let stuff dry/not mess it up horribly) I have finished my skates! I spent this past week treating them with suede protectant and letting them dry and I think they'll be ready for an inaugural run next week! OMG! And, if anyone wants to try their hand at their own mismatched pair I have the other set of these Moonboots with all stock accessories in a size 7 ready to ship. HMU if you're interested! Slowly but surely going down.  I honestly think I need to keep better track of my macros again.  For a while I was skating by just doing them in my head but I think ever since I got back from vacation I’ve just gotten mentally lazy about food.

I’m not going to mention names but a friend of mine has lost 50+pounds on keto and it just recharged me mentally.  Recharge as in- “GET OFF YOUR LAZY BUTT AND TRY HARDER”.  Am I being too hard on myself?  Maybe in some ways, but to be honest I have goals and I’m meeting some but disappointing myself in others.  I’m better than this.

The only benefit I have from all of this effort is knowing that there may be people out there that are more insecure than me and may understand that we are all human.  We make mistakes and what really defines us is what we learn from them and how are going to use it to improve ourselves.  I’m not making excuses for myself since that’s not the person I want to be.  I need to try harder for me and my little family.

ALSO!  Thank you newer and older followers for deciding to tag along in the passenger seat for support.  I’m so grateful and I promise that for those on your own health journeys or mental health journeys that you inspire me.

7 years ago this wonderful human came into our lives, he wrapped his arms around us and hasn't let us go since, and today is his birthday! I am so thankful that he was born!
