SZA'a don't call me is giving Summer in the Winter

From the head nodding beat, to the bossy lyrics... SZA's don't call me is a far cry from where she started as a Somber writer trying to get an ex to understand she needs too much attention, and she could be his supermodel if he just believes. This melodic number on her newest album doesn't need a man to do anything but what she says. If you're use to the poetic SZA who bares her soul while at the same time writing her wrongs along with all of her exes wrongs too... then don't listen to this one. But if you're feeling bossy enough to talk smack whilst smacking on bubble gum the same color as your platform heels, this is the song for you. I will say... it seems SZA has decided to leap out of the box musically... Catering to her culture while at the same time making every ex she ever wrote to on her CNTRL album her muse just enough to boss up, stand up, and pull out that confidence. Listen to it, just don't pull up on one of your exes after. lol

I think all SZA fans are in awe, looking forward to more of SZA's twists and changes musically. We'll see where 2023 takes miss thing lyrically. I wonder if her will to change it up and make bossy music, will in turn pull out deeper, melodic, poetic lyrics in the future. Because change is change right? Deeper than Drew Barrymore, deeper than Supermodel... only time will tell.

Summer just in time for Summer

"Pull up" giving a modern day Erykah Badu vibe... one of my favorites on this new EP... in my eyes, Summer Walker never dissapoints. This new EP is literally just in time for Summer... presenting songs you can both soak up the sun to, and relate to. As usual, Summer bares her soul in this one... and I enjoy the fact the fans got to hear Summer talk in Agayu's Revelation, which gave us a feel of her personality... making this EP more personable. All in all, this EP feels like a cool, melodic, poetic, picnic under the Summer sun. Childish Gambino delivered in "New Type" reminding his fans of his lyrical, chill abilities... Jcole's heart felt message to Summer was heartwarming and sincere. Simply put, This EP is full of vibes with a hint of poetry and a lot of melodies worth nodding your head to. I've always loved how honestly Summer pours her heart into her music... which will always make her a relatable artist, feeling like that friend you sit on the balcony with and have real conversations about life, and what we face as young women. This EP makes you want to throw on your most alluring robe with a cup of tea by noon. I'll always support Summer and her honesty, pen game, and raw talent. Why Ari Lennox is my favorite.

Somebody who has really impressed me over the years, is no other than the underrated genius that is ARI LENNOX. I was first introduced to her, when I came across her song “Night Drive,” off her album “Pho.” If you’re new to her, please go and check out her first album “PHO” and you’ll be happy you did, and your playlist will thank you.

Track 2, off PHO “Back Seat” is absolutely genius, and my favorite from her. It comes with a smooth 90′s concept with an unforgettable sound. Her voice gives Erykah Badu vibes, her style projects pure icon qualities a lot of artists are lacking now..; a distinctive style, and sound like no other artist has, she surely stands out in the crowd.

So it was no surprise when she released “Shea Butter Baby” that she hit the charts with a bang again. “BMO,” “Speak To Me,” “Up Late,” “I Been”, I could go on, and on, she consistently proves that when she releases a new project?  She never disappoints.  Ari is definitely in a league of her own, she brings a nostalgic feel with her music that the music industry needs more of.   Just saying,

Only Ari Lennox can release a song about her new apartment, and it be a hit, not everyone can do what she does.

SLASH: FEAT MYLES KENNEDY + THE CONSPIRATORS @ AO ARENA, MCR

It was my first time shooting Slash, so yet again another one off the bucket list. There wasn't too many photographers in the pit, maybe 9 in total. However, saying that the fact security are all lined up in front of the band and videographers filming and dodging and darting around it was a little challenging.

It was a fiery showcase of rock mastery from Slash and his cohorts. A resounding display of rock prowess, with the legendary Guns 'N Roses guitarist and his masterful guitar riffs, accompanied by the dynamic vocals of Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, electrified the AO Arena Manchester.

Kennedy's vocals soared above the instrumentation, transitioning from powerful anthems to soulful ballads. Together with The Conspirators - Todd Kerns on bass, Brent Fitz on drums, and Frank Sidoris on rhythm guitar - they formed a tight-knit unit, each member contributing to the sonic tapestry with precision and energy.
