Only the clatter of bells announces his entrance. None of his usual greetings are bid to his friend behind the counter. No wave, no smile, no ‘how’s the day treatin’ you’s, no nothing. It's just him fixated on a plan that has him scouring the lax interior. 

Lips press into a thin line when he finds the one. That one snoop who’s been poking around in corners and places newcomers shouldn’t. It takes all but three steps before he looms near the stranger. An urgent, whispered ‘hey— psst, Dane! What the hell, man?’ catches his ear, but he waves Joel off. 

They're both impacted by this, after all. 

"You don't belong here," he hisses, emphasis on the way his words wisps out between suspiciously pointy teeth. "Quit getting into shit and leave."

Brianna stared at Julian as he slept next to her. His arm was draped over her midsection, her hand gently rubbing small circles on his flesh. It was so peaceful like this, almost like nothing ever happened. She remembered flirting with Lucio, getting a rise out of Julian and them ending up entangled together. The redhead sighed. She wished things were different, she wished she could go back to being his wife and forget everything. But the stinging voice of Tatiana echoed back in her head, her annoying tone made her blood boil.

To know that Julian betrayed Brianna with her, made her heart break all over again. The redhead moved, bringing herself up. Goosebumps covered her warm flesh. This was a mistake. Brianna got up from the bed, with nothing to cover her naked body. She grabbed the outfit she was wearing the night before, and figured she was in desperate need of a shower. Too lazy to move to her own room, Brianna simply walked into Julian's shower.

She knew he would wake up sooner or later, and join her. Everything that happened the night before felt so natural, that Brianna was willing to tone down her indifference...for now.
