I must sometimes scream into the void that it is not the point to make the musketeers the same age! Aramis is barely older than d‘Artagnan and just as hot-headed! Porthos is a little older and therefore thinks he‘s allowed to moralize which Aramis responds to like a younger sibling would. And Athos is the old mysterious, soft guy whose approval everyone fights for and whose affection is the much desired trophy which is why Aramis doesn‘t ever really warm up to d‘Art - he‘s jealous!! I have a precise aesthetic for them in mind and I’m trying to work on it and how to convey it aahfnhdej

The two last drawings are older of a few months and I wanted to post them with more content, it’s not much but here you go !

That sword thing interaction has been living rent free in my head since day 1 of their creation…

Lore time, basically in the magical musketeer code of honor/rules one’s sword is unique to each musketeer and is a part of their being and soul, picking up somebody else’s sword or touching it by the hilt is considered like a proposal.

You can see it in the example above, and Gloire (rainbow guy) in all of his glory being blissfully unaware since he did not bother reading the code of honor, thanks Gloire, very cool.

also it's so fun that he decides not to be a monk anymore by basically going 'well GOD made me an insane and swashbuckling loverman and who am i to argue with the divine' in a scene that is equal parts romantic comedy and 'emilio sees the door and knows his purpose'. like well i WOULD have a really deep conversion but .. sadly .. im too fun and sexy anyway let's go back to paris and i'll see if the queen still wants me to get in her pannier

if i had a nickel for every time santiago cabrera played a french guy who canonically committed adultery with the queen, i'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

I dived into this show completely blind. The only thing I’ve seen was the teaser of a ship sailing, more than a year ago and that was it. But I remember wanting to watch it so bad (been a sucker for ship mysteries since I was a kid). I didn’t even see the trailer before I went for it, and of all the actors I only knew Aneurin Bernard, the actor that plays Anker (he played Tom in the Wheel of Crap), and Krester was vaguely familiar to me because I’ve seen people wanting him to play Daeron Targaryen. 

But I was like: Why is Maura so familiar? I know her from somewhere, I’m sure of it. And then bam! It dawned on me. It’s the cardinal’s mistress that made Aramis jump out the window half naked in the first episode of The Musketeers. I couldn’t stop laughing after that.
