I'm sorry but Kiyotaka's talent in the english version of the game being Ultimate Moral Compass is actually so stupid and I hate using it.

His REAL talent (the one that's in the JP version of the game) is more along the lines of SHSL public morals committee member. But in the english version, this was changed because we don't HAVE public morals committees. In addition, it is a long enough name to make it hard to squeeze into the limited amount of text boxes. It needed to be shortened somehow, so while something like, say, Ultimate student council president would be a MUCH better talent while still remaining accessible to the westerners (even though we all know these characters are japanese and we also have access to google), it's still fairly wordy, and doesn't ammend the limited text box problem (this is also why in the english version, Kiyotaka's name is IMMEDIATELY shortened to Taka despite it being very put of character for him to have a nickname when he first meets everyone). So Ultimate Moral compass is what ended up sticking.

It's a shame, though, because now people just don't know what his talent ACTUALLY is. They either go with Moral compass, or worse, they follow in the footsteps of the somethingawful forum translations (no offense to those guys, btw) and still think hes just a hall monitor, which is SOMEWHAT similar, but just feels so much goofier in comparison.

Most of the characters in this series (with some subversive exceptions) have their talents because it is either their number one passion, it is a life that they were born into, OR because it has a heavy link to their own motivations. AND KIYOTAKA! JUST SO HAPPENS! TO HAVE HIS TALENT FOR ALL THREE OF THESE REASONS! Most people just don't see this because the connotations of his two english translation talents are either too silly to take seriously or too broad and vague to make any sort of connection.
