wasn’t able to doodle as much as I'd like to lately from projects (and totally bc I didn’t get absorbed into a rarepair which i may or may not post later) but here’s my take on a hypothetical ancestor for lance on his appreciation week! a grandpa who has a lot of gyarados theming around him 🐉🌊

#kagoodles #ChampionLanceWeek2023 #champion lance #lance pokemon #a bit of clair (blue hair + ponytail) a bit of lance (the spikes + the eye color and gsc shoulder pad things) its their peepaw!!!#honestly. stumped on a name for hypothetical peepaw #my first thought was Sloe based on the blackthorn berry (and it’s gin is even a red color) but I’m still workshopping it #also kudos to the hc of lance being the shiny gyarados of the family that’s just canon to me now #peepaw got a prosthetic hand bc training ain’t easy but kindness is not without effort #but he’s chill and gets along with a lot of village kids #he's a guy who would have a bunch of stories to tell people and draws a lot of crowds for it #in a game setting he'd be like. funny mentor who's also one of the big late game opponents to overcome as a test of strength #otherwise he'd probably give the player a funny item of importance or just something out of the blue like a rare candy or a star piece #“you like candy kiddo? so do pokemon! why not spread the fun around? :D”

#ask #sapphicdroid #i did look it up to fact check myself after i reblogged the post and saw the adapters #honestly when i was younger i never knew it didnt have a headphone jack #granted the only time i ever saw one in person was on the school bus with a friend #he played pokemon blue on it and i dont remember the details of all that went on during #i mightve also seen another kid on the bus play pokemon emerald. i dont remember.#however that was my first exposure to gen 3 pokemon. as a kid i only knew about Red Blue Yellow and Crystal #my brothers had Red and Blue. and so thusly i have both games now. i... dont know where my copy of Red is though.#i have a copy of Yellow from Ebay but it loses its memory sometimes. which i think is why it was put on Ebay in the first place #Crystal however? well first i knew of gen 2 through pokemon stadium 2 #we had both pokemon stadiums for the n64. or. well. still do have them.#speaking of. sure does suck to go through the gym leaders and elite 4 in those games. mostly due to how long rounds are.#emulated it a while back and i had to use the fast forward feature a lot #anyway. Crystal. somehow i got my copy from a random coat in a clothing store. just. in the pocket.#i dont know how i managed to find it. it was either in a coat my mom was looking at or i was looking through pockets... probably the former #anyway within like a week. a kid in 3rd grade stole it from me #i... think i got to the elite 4? i remember getting to the last dude with the charizard. forgive me for forgetting his name.#but like right after i had it stolen. i got on the bus and vented to my friend and he was like ''oh i have two copies of crystal''#and then gave his second copy to me. i forget if it was on the day of or if it was the next day.#anyway that same day it got stolen again. by the same kid. that kid stole so much shit from me #he switched schools the next year so i couldnt do anything about it #i have uhhh... soul silver now. so its not that big of a deal these days #anyway thank you for the ask :) i appreciate you telling me anyway

When I was a kid I had my first shiny fail. I was at Cape Brink in pokemon Leafgreen and back in the days where backlighting on consoles was not very good (or nonexistent) I saw a shiny slowpoke.

I knew it looked different, I knew something was up, and yet my solution was to *checks notes* smack it with a move from one of my high level pokemon despite it being like level 9, killing it instantly like a victorian explorer shooting a rare cockatoo with a blunderbuss.

I was not a smart child.

And afterwards I think I realised that it was a mistake because I kept hanging around cape brink trying to see if it would happen again (it didn't).

20 goddamned years later, a file switch to a home brewed console due to failing hardware and probably about 20,000 slowpokes and slowbros later, I can finally put this incredibly stupid chapter of my life to rest.

I think my shiny fail is what led to me loving slowpoke so much so I can't exactly regret it too much anymore. I love you slowpoke and I hope you forgive me for brutally murdering your shiny. ☺️🤗

Ran out of answer spaces but! I felt it was important to split off Team Plasma since there is a significant ideological difference between them (as far as I remember each ideation of Team Rocket has the same goals/beliefs, Giovanni himself just stepped down and changed his mind)

That said! This is less about favorite gen and more about believing in the beliefs -- especially interesting to consider if you align with the Main Villain and their outlook, or if you believe in the so-called "cause" that may or may not be true, or have some truth to it (like, if you wanted to help Pokemon like og Plasma and Aether Foundation).

Sorry to lump Yell and Star together, I was going chronologically!! You'll have to specify which and why in the tags haha (if you want to that is!)

And honestly that goes for any choice, sell it to me. Why should I join Your team?

LIKE. imagine a world where team skull on top of being public nuisances #were instead actively trying to recruit every kid doing the island challenge to their cause #to dismantle the significance of the island challenge and maybe where they go wrong here is #they're 'too destructive' and there's a place to meet in the middle (can be an annoying message but also. kids game LMFAO)#that said it would be really interesting how they'd interact w the captains as well cause a lot of them are kids too #are they also regarded as victims of an unfair system like the island challengers or someone who upholds it?#ultimately team skull is still a red herring but. it would make for some wild world building!#also team star is extremely based and have done nothing wrong in their entire lives. i am fighting the school board about it.

ouhhh that's tough... tbf im not very well versed on every pokemon after gen 2 but. hmm.... my choice is somewhere between: Gengar, Cloyster, Venonat, Pinsir, a pokemon within the Nidoran family, and Gligar

God I dont even have the game yet , but HERE I AM with Brainrot over the characters and story and lore ...

Like the other day Im looking up compilations of the bugs and glitches and people having fun with friends in the co-op with the glitches and stuff in the game to becoming attached to one of the main characters of the game because of his design and backstory and the whole story in general has a story that actually makes you feel that hurt yet warm feeling in you heart over moments like oh mY G O D I LOVE EVERYONE OF THE MAIN 3 CHARACTERS and then a lot of the pokemon designs are so cute , the fact two of them are joke evolutions yet ones that I just love so much but then it hurts knowing that Gamefreak devs were rushed to make this game and if there were no bugs this game more than likely wouldve been scored higher by online critics bUT WHATEVER Why am I ever caring about online critics when I never did anyhow in the past , just hate how artists and devs have been treated in the past few years but GOD its crazy how awesome and beautiful this story is even for how rushed the game was sadly but kfmfvbnjhtngrefvgbghtr
