Finding Dean in the kitchen was a normal occurrence. Cas was used to slipping into the kitchen, standing behind Dean to wrap his arms around Dean’s waist and sneaking a kiss to the back of his neck.

But there was something even more endearing about days like today. Today, where Dean was making a stew just because Jack asked for it. Dean making specific requests for his family because he cared about them so much.

“Quit staring from the doorway and come help me chop some vegetables,” Dean teased, breaking Cas out of his trance.

Cas moved across the kitchen, but instead of grabbing the vegetables he slipped his hand into the ties of Dean’s apron and tugged him close. Gently, he chased Dean’s mouth into a soft kiss; lingering and tender and oh-so-sweet.

“Hi,” Cas breathed against Dean’s lips.

“Hi yourself. What was that for?” Dean murmured, dropping his spoon into the bowl so he could wrap his arms around Cas’ neck.

“You’re showing your affection through cooking again. I like that about you,” Cas hummed softly.

“You’re a sap,” Dean replied, letting Cas guide them into another round of kisses.

There are many reasons for her to dislike the presence of another in the botanical garden. As much as people seem to praise Leona Kingscholar, she feels not even an ounce of respect or wish to be polite to the man. It’s unfair coming from her, but personal experience and personal judgement are irrational in this case. The one who sat seemingly in Heavens with his royal blood and the one who climbed the stairs from the shadows, learning the reality of this world and its unfairness. She heard her classmates chuckle upon stating that despite being born on the very same day neither of them were that similar besides their pride. It was sickening to her, she couldn’t stand being compared to someone who was willingly sitting back and letting countless opportunities escape. 

The luxury lifestyle given to him from the moment he was born, her own judgement told her that this was a type of person who she could not respect until there would be more information. Just because he came from a place of power meant nothing if a person was not showing their skillset and were not improving themselves, climbing on top no matter what others said. Endlessly, she remembers countless people who she had to step on and break their metaphorical bones to be where she is now. As entertainment is a sweet industry to remain in. Underworld taught her ways to dominate, she wonders if his majesty knows of similar unfair ways. How unfair and cruel of her to have such a thought process when it came to Leona Kingscholar, it’s not that they even interacted much. Her distaste didn’t come from ignorance, the man was skilled and talented, she knew it and she accepted it. The fact that he wasn’t using those much from skipping classes and staying a year behind made her frown ever so lightly inside her mind. 

“ I’ve been here for a while. I cannot believe you are missing Trein’s class again, Kingscholar, ” Zarina doesn’t even look up at him as she makes sure to sit more comfortably on the small chair she brought while having a guitar in her hands. He is the one overlooking this botanical garden (or so she heard) but she had the permission of the staff to be here. Not only that, but Zarina was fully aware that she was speaking to a prince. Well, she didn’t seem to care at all. “ I do apologize for having the audacity to speak to you like this, but times call for desperate measures. ”
