Cid Loving Week - Day 7 - Meteor
It is done!
Many thanks to @cid-loving-hours for organizing the week, I had a blast making all of these!
It was my first time joining an event like this, and it was so fun! I was kind of nervous at first and struggled a bit to get started, but once the gears finally shifted I really went ham on it.
I hope these were as fun to see as they were to make ^_^
Don’t forget to appreciate Cid Highwind everyday!

Kaj's Kink January #3

I kind of hate the way mental illness is treated nowadays. Like it’s wonderful there’s less of a stigma around it but it’s been so normalized that no one takes it seriously anymore and everyone thinks they know how it works bc they watched a tiktok abt it once.
You can’t say that you have depression or anxiety because “everyone has that” so who gives a fuck?
OCD means nothing to anyone because “we’re all a little OCD amiright??” And the illness has been misrepresented and misunderstood for so long that no one understand how anyone with OCD could be suffering from it. (Hint: it isn’t keeping your room nice and organized)
Even Body Dysmorphia means jack shit because “no one likes how they look, we’re all insecure.” Like that even begins to cover the extent of the illness.
We’ve all had our sad spells, anxiety, little obsessions and self hate. What people don’t seem to understand is that all those experiences do not represent what it’s like to have the actual mental illness. Everyone experiences anxiety now and again, its part of being human. It’s when it starts interfering with your life— coming about randomly and incapacitating a person— that it becomes a disorder.
You’re not “a little OCD” because you like your room organized, and you definitely don’t know what it’s like for people who have actual OCD because you get sort of bugged when something’s out of place.
These mental illnesses can interfere with every aspect of a persons life. They’re life-altering. They’re not just fun little labels to prove how quirky and unique someone is.

could you do me a favor and tag whenever there are ocs in your reblogs? thank you very much
I've so far didn't see much of it on your blog but I just noticed it and I would appreciate it very much.
I can try, but anon, I don't always know what's an OC and what is a canon character in the vast world of Pokémon that I've just never seen before.
Do like minor OCs to fill in gaps in fics count? What about characters who are truly blank slates, like some of the depot agents?
I can try and tag when there's like major OCs but when it comes to minor characters that's where I'm not gonna split hairs.
I guess the tags will be #others ocs and less commonly #my ocs

In an effort to make myself do something-oh-god-anything this week, I am opening my inbox up to Paper Girls fic prompts for a few days. Important caveats:
Caveat the first: I’m ONLY taking Paper Girls prompts at the moment. KJ/Mac, KJ/Lauren, Tiff/Erin, Erin’s baby crush on Mac—all fair game. Just not taking any non-PG prompts.
Caveat the second: also not taking any…non-PG prompts. Since the lion’s share of plot is about literal 12 year olds, I won’t be writing anything even remotely sexual for this fandom—even if they’re aged up. Kinda goes without saying, but just in case.
So if you’d like to see any little ficlets for this fandom: shoot. One-word prompts, song prompts, whatever, totally welcome.

I'm gonna tag byler because it's the only fandom where I'm active and sometime I am a (very average) fanwriter and fanartist for the ship... But I think it's a general discourse that involves fandom spaces and the evolution of fandom culture.
As a dean of fandoms (since I've been in fandom for so many years already), I am used to write comments to fics i like or share the art I enjoy and everything, maybe because I've been on both sides of enjoying/creating fan content, I'm always active at my best capacity... But I've noticed a shift in the past years, maybe due to how fast the net is, how big the fandom is for stranger things, etc, of everything becoming disposable and almost a given, and just the pace of it all is so fast that we're used to get content and just push a like button and moving forward... But artists spend hours doing that fan content, for their own enjoyment but also for engagement with the fanbase and all, to carve themselves a tiny space in the fandom and to share their love for said fandom/ship/show.
If you like a fanart, reblog it. Or if it's on instagram, like it and comment it. Write tags, even just a 'i love it it's so cool' one. Write some comment to the author, show you love it... Every single like counts, obviously, but there is nothing like getting a cute comment under a piece of work, no matter if it's as good as Caravaggio or just a simple sketch, if You Enjoy it then show it. It matters to artists.
Same with fanfictions, it happens so often to me that I read a fiction, see they have 200 kudos and only 2 comments... Kudos are amazing, notwithstanding that I think there is a lack of effort for comments that are longer than six words (I like it so much wow!)... I'm not saying everyone has to write a literature analysis under a fanfiction, but even just pointing out your favourite parts in a fic, some plot twist you liked, some lines that resonated with you, or the way the writer wrote a character... It makes the difference!
It tells a message to the artist, I appreciate the time you spent creating this content and sharing it with us. And it matters :')
