God is my helper.

Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life.

Blessed be the holy name of the Almighty God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ ! The psalmist pens his heart in beholding the awesomeness of the Omnipotent God. Certainly, it is clear from the subject verse that the psalmist's confidence is in the Almighty God alone. Very importantly, the help and protection of man never stood the test of times. Even the mighty and the most powerful could not hold their own grounds. But those who feared the God, Most High and put their trust and faith in him were exalted. And the psalmist, king David is one of among those who fully depended on the Living God. The Lord is my Helper David's trust in the Almighty God never wavered in his whole life. Even when he was recklessly pursued by the king Saul and his men, his eyes were set upon the Lord. As the second part of the verse says, David believed that the Lord would uphold his life. As the children of the Living God, let us also put our trust and faith in Him alone. Moreover, as the following verse from the Epistle to the Hebrews says, let our confidence be in the Lord, who is our eternal Helper. So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Hebrews 13:6 NIV Brethren, the divine protection of the Lord our God is to the eternity for all his children. Therefore, see to it that our focus never wavers; while building our trust and faith in the Almighty God incessantly.
