I tried my best to write for every character from Mystic Messenger, even if it was only a question or two, just because there is such a small group of characters! I used the same prompt, and hope everyone enjoys the headcanons!

Jumin

When did you lose your virginity?

Okay, but I think it’s fairly safe to say that Jumin was a virgin when the player character in the game met him. A very sexually frustrated virgin, but a virgin nonetheless. I feel like, given his distrust of people and some heavily implied attempted sexual grooming in his past, made him very reluctant to take the plunge into losing his virginity and it’s only going to happen once he finds someone who accepts and truly cares about him and that he feels safe with.

Rough sex or soft sex?

He’ll honestly want to try both. He does have his kinks and is very dominant sexually, but he’s a very soft dom and even when sex is on the rougher side, it’s never degrading or violent.

Do you have any unusual kinks/fetishes?

I feel like Jumin definitely has a marked interest in the BDSM scene. He’s very sexually dominant, but leans more towards being a very caring, soft dom, with his interests aligning heavily with the ‘bondage’ part of that acronym. Yes and no. I feel like Saeran would be a little uncomfortable sending any sort of even vaguely sexual pictures to his partner and would keep dirty texts to very lightly sexual. Even if he trusts them completely, the idea that someone else might get ahold of their phone and the knowledge of how easy it is to hack into someone’s phone makes him just a bit paranoid that someone else might see those words or images.

No. This is such a hard, hard no for Saeran. Honestly, he has such bad social skills and social anxiety that he never thought he would have even a casual friend, much less a true-blue best friend, and that relationship will mean the world to him. There is nothing in the world that would make him jeopardize such an important thing to him.

Vanderwood does smoke after sex. It’s just a force of habit for him and he does tend to try to take a piss right after sex, just because he remembers reading somewhere that it’s recommended to prevent UTI’s.

He’s really auditory. He has really great hearing and things like little moans or purrs of delight, even if they’re completely innocent (for example, letting out a pleased sigh while stretching or a little moan when eating something really delicious), will make his mind go absolutely straight to the gutter.

Jumin Han - The Day He Realized He Wanted to Marry You

People like to think that CEO’s have it easy. That they sit in their big office with their feet up on their mahogany desk, smoking cigars as they watch the money come in. 

Wrong. It’s weeks of working 80 hours. It’s every minute of your day meticulously planned. It’s stacks of paperwork, 30 urgent emails in an hour, it’s meetings upon meetings upon meetings, it’s… missing three date nights in a row.

Jumin has warned you that these few months will be an especially busy period, but he’ll be sure to fulfill his ‘boyfriend’ responsibilities.

Well… that hasn’t exactly panned out as well as he thought.

The first time he had canceled, you waved it off and said there was no issue. The second time, your smile had wavered, but told him you understood. He tried to console you by saying you could eat at the restaurant by yourself. It was dinner time and the reservation was still there. You turned him down and said you’d rather go home and eat at your place.

And now, well, he was lucky that he couldn’t see your face when he called you to cancel. Still, you were uncharacteristically quiet throughout his monologue. At the end of it, you simply said, “I understand. I’ll catch you later.”

There you stood by his door. Hands crossed over your chest. The stern expression on your face made his fingers freeze mid-sentence.

“…hello,” was his lame greeting.

You crossed the room and rounded his table to stand by his side then, to his surprise, set a timer on your watch.

Jumin arched his brow and spun his chair about to face you “What are you—” He clamped his mouth shut when you planted yourself onto his lap and wrapped your arms around his frame.

“There’s a 10 minute window before you go to a lunch meeting. It’s mine,” you declared.

Jumin’s hands retreated from his computer and wrapped around your frame. “Were you feeling lonely, dear?”

“Yes,” you answered with a petulant pout. 

“I’m sorry.”

“Don’t apologize,” you tell him. He could feel the vibration of your voice on his shoulder. “I know this is your life and I won’t be selfish about it. Just give me 10 minutes.”

He wrapped his arms tighter around you. 

There would be times where a passing comment, or a conversation thought to be out of earshot, would say that you were lucky to be with someone like him. Rich, brilliant, young, and handsome, Jumin Han. That was ludicrous. All along, always, he was the lucky one.

“Next mo—” he cut himself off. No, the trip next month was too long. No. “Let’s have dinner tonight. Whatever you want.”

You gasped and giggled. You broke away from the hug to look at his face. “Really? Are you free?”

“I’ll finish work by 8 in the evening, is that okay?”

“Yeah! I can wait. We don’t need to go out. Let’s just eat at your place and watch a movie!” You paused and hummed in thought. “I think I know a good movie that you and I can watch. It’ll be great.”

His hand reached up to caress your face. “I can’t wait.”

It’s a good thing that the trip is next month. It’ll give him some time to find out your ring size and rent a villa for the proposal

honestly was pretty hesitant to give an answer, not because she didn’t like you, but because she was completely enamored by you, was so shocked about her feelings and how you made her feel, it was a good feeling but so very new, after thinking on it she said yes, she didn’t want to lose you nor this feeling, she was a bit intimidated and timid about dating, but knew with you she’d be okay, she’d apologize for her delayed answer by gifting you flowers on your first date, you couldn’t help but noticed how bright she was with you

JUMIN HAN ◛⑅·˚ ༘ ♡

being a ceo of a multibillion dollar company it wasn’t odd to be confessed to, jumin had grown used to it and thought of them to be annoyances, however when you confessed and asked him on a date it was so very different, jumin couldn’t recall the other confessions leaving him this way, his heart fluttered and he felt the heat rise from his collar, the way your voice sounded saying his name echoed in his head, he was stunned and was lost in his thoughts, when you tilted your head he snapped back and immediately said yes, he planned your date for that very night

thoroughly convinced that this was a dream, but after blinking three times you still were stood there smiling, his heart ached, on one hand he loved you dearly, you made him incredibly happy and made his world blossom, on the other he was still dealing with the guilt, he dragged you into a not so pleasant situation, that could of gone incredibly wrong, he didn’t deserve you, you knew him too well to know what was going on in his head, you added reassurance that you wanted to be with him and what happened was more complicated than what he thought, sorting out he feelings he decided on a yes, he wanted to make it up to you

he couldn’t believe it, you actually shared the same feelings as him, it was like a miracle or a blessing, you couldn’t imagine someone who had more of a golden retriever energy than yoosung at that moment, you could almost see his imaginary tail wagging at incredible speed, he was very excited and eagerly wanted to plan your first date asap, would be the type to plaster the date you asked him everywhere he could, also would brag to the chat immediately, even though everyone but him had seen it coming

two words: reverse uno, it was quite ironic that you two confessed at the same time, but it was exactly on brand for the two of you, you both laughed it over and obviously said yes, it was a no brainer for either of you, you both brought out the brightest sides of each other, you two were bound to be together, soulmates one could say, zen would love to tell anyone who asked about how you two goth together, he thought the both of you confessing at the same time was incredibly adorable, you couldn’t help but agree

Using this prompt and considering the fact that there’s a small cast of characters for Mystic Messenger, I just had fun doing all the characters! I hope you’ll enjoy!

The character wakes up next to you in the same bed after a night of drinking. What is their reaction?

Jumin

So, I’m going into all these reactions assuming that you’re either a complete stranger to the character or you’re a friend who they are not in a relationship with, because if you were in a relationship, the characters would be largely unbothered. Going with that assumption, I feel like it would be insanely rare for this to happen to Jumin and, if it did, he’d be horrified when he woke up to find another person in his bed and really disgusted with himself, especially so if it was a complete stranger. Regardless of how he’s internally feeling though, he would push down those emotions and would be a complete gentleman about it. He’d immediately get dressed and leave if the bed wasn’t his own, and if you were a friend, he would apologize to you afterwards and would put some distance between the two of you for a little while afterwards, just until he could sort out his emotions regarding what happened. If it was his own bed, I feel like he’d still get dressed right away and probably head right into a shower. He’d offer you Tylenol and breakfast if you wanted it when you woke up and would arrange to have you driven home afterwards. If you were just a complete stranger, I think he’d want little contact with you afterwards, just because he is feeling that shame in his actions, and if you were a friend, I feel he’d behave very much as mentioned above.

Zen

Zen has gotten drunk and found himself in this situation at least once before in his life. It isn’t a completely new experience to him and he’s more casually cool about it. He’s never thrilled about it, because he does feel like he might have potentially taken advantage of a drunk person, regardless of the fact that he was also drunk. He’d definitely have some weird healthy juice concoction he makes to take the edge off the hangover and he’d probably scour the kitchen of either his or your place to try to make it for both you and him. He’d never just leave and pretend it didn’t happen because that isn’t okay in his mind so he would stick around and wait for you to wake up if it was your bed. He’d need to check to make sure you were okay with what had happened the night before and he’d probably check to see if there was any connection with you if you were a stranger, to see if there might be an opportunity for this to develop into more than a one-night stand. If you were already his friend, he’d definitely feel the need to make sure that you were okay with whatever had happened the night before. He might even apologize for whatever had happened right off the bat, just because he feels a little guiltier about the situation if it happens with someone he does know and already cares about in some form. I could also see him, with someone who was already a friend, being really open to seeing if there is potential for a relationship to come out of a drunken one-night stand.

Saeyoung

Saeyoung is disturbed. Like, the boy is not at all mentally okay with this, no matter who you are to him. He doesn’t drink often, and he already hates the fact that he got drunk, since he’d always promised himself he wouldn’t do that, wouldn’t risk turning into his mother. The fact that he’d probably had sex with either a complete stranger or one of his friends after getting drunk makes him feel sick, to be honest, and I think the mixture of that guilt, self-loathing, and the hangover might send him right to the bathroom to throw up. He’d either be really short and curt with you or would be tossing out bad jokes but either way, he’s going to try to leave the situation as quickly as he could. He wants out of wherever he is, he doesn’t even care if it’s his own place, just as fast as his legs could carry him and he’d probably ghost you completely or at least for a few days and he’d do everything he could, if you were his friend and when he got back to talking to you, to pretend it had never happened.

Yoosung

His brain breaks. So hard. He’s already got a terrible hangover, because he’s a quick drunk and gets really plastered easily, and to deal with both that fogging his mind and the realization that he isn’t alone in bed…it’s way too much and he definitely wakes you up just kind of trying to not freak out as much as he wants to. He wants to check under the covers to see if he’s naked, but he gets embarrassed because what if you’re naked so he’s slipping his hands under the covers to try to feel if he’s dressed or not and trying to remember what all happened and he’s moving all over the place and just making a general ruckus. If you guys had slept together, no matter if he knew you or not, he’s blushing redder than a tomato and stuttering and stumbling because he just doesn’t know how to react or what to do and he’ll definitely need you to calm him down in the moment.

Jaehee

Jaehee probably is one of the most mature about the situation. She’s embarrassed, of course, but she has a talent for remaining level-headed. Her first step is to look for her clothes and get dressed. Then, it’s coffee. She’ll make coffee for both of you and will wake you up with coffee and Tylenol, just in case you have a hangover like she does. She’ll be very polite and will apologize to you if you seem at all uncomfortable with the previous night or the situation. Because she probably has a lot of work left to do, it’s a good excuse for her to leave an awkward situation and she’ll tell you that she has to be leaving for work but will thank you for your hospitality. If you are a friend and someone she will see, she will request that you keep what happened just between the two of you and will want to act as if it hadn’t happened moving forward.

V

V’s the other really mature one in this situation. He doesn’t get overly drunk, not to the point where he doesn’t remember what happened at least, so he knows what went on and while he does feel a large amount of shame for his actions, he’s able to remain calm in the situation. If you’re awake, he will say good morning and ask you how you are feeling. He thanks you for sharing the previous night with him and genuinely does want to know what you’re feeling emotionally in regards of what happened. That being said, he’s going to let you down as easy as he can, explaining that he’s just not in the right space to be starting a relationship, even just a sexual one, and that while he appreciates the previous night, he’d like for this to be a one-time thing.

Saeran

Saeran would not react well to this at all, honestly. He’s hungover and that makes him uncomfortable and already puts him in a bad place mentally and then he feels a lot of self-disgust for having casual sex with someone he either doesn’t know or has a friendship with. There’s just way too much that goes on in his head when he finds himself in that situation and I really thinks he can’t even talk to you, if you are awake, and he’s just laser-focused on getting his clothes on and getting as far away from the situation as fast as he can.

Rika

Rika…Rika just sees this as more proof of the darkness inside of her and she fully embraces the situation. Out of all of them, I feel like she’s the one most comfortable in the situation. She’d actually either snuggle up to you closer or would attempt to seduce you all over again, regardless of any hangovers, just because she feels like she can and feels like it’s slightly self-destructive to do so, which is something she is actively seeking.

Vanderwood

Vanderwood isn’t too shook up by the situation. It’s happened to him before, probably more than once. He’s either in your apartment or a hotel room, so he doesn’t really have to worry about kicking you out. Truth be told, he’s another one of those who are going to bail with as little follow-up interaction with you as possible.

SAEYOUNG browses Netflix on the couch while he waits for you to make the popcorn. It's a warm summer night and you have agreed that he will choose the movie while you take care of the snacks. Soon, you discover you are out of Dr Pepper, so you promptly return to the living room to ask him if he wants you to take a quick trip to the store or if he prefers to have one of your soda cans.

The small pops begin echoing in the kitchen, but you don't move from your spot as you observe your lover, dressed in grey shorts and a black tank top. His amber eyes are set on the screen, soft humming leaving his lips as he carefully goes over the different options for tonight.

However, the thing that catches your attention, what made you stop your racks in the first place, is the small chub on his stomach. The fabric of his clothes strains a bit around it, almost as if it doesn't fit anymore, and you wonder how you didn't notice it before, given you've been sharing a bed for a year now.

Slowly, your eyes start tracing the rest of his body. The new rosy tint that dusts his now fuller cheeks. The defined lines that used to run across his biceps, barely noticeable, now replaced by soft skin. The added plush of his thighs, almost inviting, on display thanks to his shorts riling up.

He's healing, you think. Without the crushing weight of being an agent and the need to be able to escape at any time, he can finally rest. He's done with running away, constantly pushing his body to the limit, and eating just enough to see another day.

You walk towards him before you can register and, in a matter of seconds, you've found a place on his lap, your face buried in the crook of his neck as you envelop him with a hug. His chuckle makes his chest gently jump, and you snuggle even closer.

"Hey," he smiles, leaving the remote on the side and returning your hug, just as tight. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah," you hum. You take a deep breath, inhaling the scent of his shampoo for a few seconds before you pull yourself away. The moment his eyes meet yours, a smile draws upon your face. "I just love seeing you happy."

He doesn't reply. He knows your words carry more meaning than you're letting on, so he prefers not to ask, even if he appreciates the sentiment behind them. He knows you're right, after all. The last twenty years of his life have felt like fifty, and this long year still feels like a summer vacation that will eventually end.

However, whenever those thoughts come, he pulls you close, just like he's doing now, and focuses on the beating of your heart. More than slow breathing, more than a cold shower, your sole presence always manages to calm him down.

It means you're here. It means it's over.

It's finally over.
