Console tan Lore Tour 2!!! About 64DD tan
Tumblr media
Console Representative for the N64 Disk Drive and twin sister of Roku (N64 tan). She is less active than her party-loving twin sis and prefers to stay at home making art or browsing the internet. She is a perfectionist who takes a long time to get anything done. She debuted late into her console generation so many of the games that were originally meant for her were given to her sister Roku instead so that they would come out in time. She didn't want to debut (release the console) earlier because she didn't think there were enough players for her games. In the end though she only ended up with a few games to her name. She has lots of great ideas but not much skill to execute them herself. Instead many of her ideas went on to be used by other consoles in their games.
Rand claims that magnetic disks are the best way to play games and got into many arguments with her sisters to defend her magnetic disks. She has a fascination with clocks and keeping track of the time, so much so that she has a collection of clocks and watches.

MOTHER 3 at SpaceWorld 1997 - Part 1: Overview
“Here’s a new truth assured to upset some people. It already upset Paul Davies. MOTHER 3 is the bst-looking RPG ever, many times more impressive than Final Fantasy VII ” - Computer & Video Games Magazine (February 1998)
MOTHER 3 made its grand reappearance at SpaceWorld 1997 in the form of a trailer shown off to attendees. The trailer showed off multiple scenes of the game’s vast & colorful world, showcasing many of the game’s mechanics & engine. Press at the time praised the game highly, quickly becoming one of the most anticipated titles of the generation.
While the game’s reveal at Shoshinkai 1996 provided people with a taste of what could come, SpaceWorld 1997 was really the first to show off the game’s true colors. At this point in development, the game’s direction had been nearly finalized, such as designs & game mechanics. Unfortunately, a lot of the game’s SpaceWorld 1997 appearance is lost to time, with the full trailer still being searched for to this day. Luckily, screenshots & almost 30 seconds of footage from the trailer have resurfaced, that, along with multiple different magazine coverages, lets us piece a more complete picture.
It is known that there were 11 key scenes, with more potentially being shown off. Those are:
The game’s logo, along with the subtitle “Forest of Strange Creatures”
Flint walking through Tazmily Village, talking with villagers.
Flint entering the Yado Inn & purchasing a weapon.
Lucas riding through the mountain on-top of a Drago.
A Kraken attacks Great Scale Village
The DCMC performs a song during a concert.
The Pig Warrior army marching through the desert.
Lucas using a Pork Bean.
An in-depth look at the Clayman Factory.
Flint & a Capybara fight in the overworld, leading to a long battle.
Flint tumbling down a hill.
Join me as I go through every single one of them scene by scene (in no particular order) over the coming days.

Servo60 reference
My Servo60 theme pack journey continues, soon to be attached are some more aesthetic references, media primitives and modular assets.
Also gonna test such out somewhat in my own context before uploading to online spaces like Lospec & Ko-fi & Gumroad for sale.
Tumblr media
Servo 2D bitmap generics [alpha, WIP]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Initial work done by realcg on a Fiverr gig for me and then I continuously enhanced it. Still WIP but decently usable as a tilesheet. No lowercase Latin or cursive Cyrillic characters yet, nor specialized sprites / render formats yet.
Juniper, the textual game for teletypes? [soon to be started]
So it seems like it will be made with PunyInform with Z-machine version 3 optimized parameters. (Perhaps with some Konrad Zuse Z3 comptability one day?) Mostly aiming to emulate a printing RTTY feed game with some level of system master authoring automation & some text adventure parser logic akin to Homestuck suggestion / comment / addventure tracking. Possibly turn it into a MU* game with Evennia & ifMUD, or into a HTML5+CSS3 addventure sitemap.
Definitely emulating some teslafunk / "Belle Epoque" 1910-1912 vibe here. Using both retro and contemporary elements, so retro-electric cars, young adult women voting, aesthetic hoof shoed furries and some data processing unit record equipment room. Taking hints from "A Mind Forever Voyaging" & Zork's entry location.
Hopefully small scope at dawn but still fun to tinker with at a local user scale.
Maynard, the web-centric 'Bitsy' / 'Mosi' toybox? [alpha, WIP]
A simple 2D world exploration & data processing software toy. Mostly to showcase my constructed world over layers of locations and to convert eventually into a CSS3-only sitemap game because avoiding JS altogether makes such so lightweight and totally privacy-respecting by definition.
Blackhand, the megaOCEAN NPC filled factionscape in Unity with custom C# & F# scripts [soon to be started]
Expanding from Maynard and Juniper to make a 3D fontmap living world to throw Servitor assets into, some sort of city builder / Tactical CRPG where you design & build Angora solarpunk cities with a abundance of agents to cater for, including ? Feeling in between Sid Meier's Civilization 5 Complete Edition & Mercenaries Playground of Destruction & Dwarf Fortress [0.47.5]. But with significant procedural hex crawling, history generation and social dynamics at play to ascend into a benevolent God.
Servitor, the Blender + Qodot + with volumetric PBR NPR enriched media 3D modular pack [soon to be started]
Some sort of 'Large Panel System'-inspired modular construction sets that look and feel fun to place and live in, also has demographic pawn agent assets & fontmap + sector-oriented terrain system? Designed to be explored both overhead view and in first person perspective.

Translated article from teo-world.com revealing gameplay and plot details about the cancelled TEO 64 for the Nintendo 64DD.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yamauchi mentions crossbreeding a "giant armadillo" and a "deer-like thing". He might be talking about Terraphant and Bananadeer?
Tumblr media
The article included two screenshots, one of the two images originates from a lost animated Fin Fin commercial, and is also on the TEO: Another Earth CD (high res cover posted by the-jade-palace)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
while not saved by the internet archive, "teo-amile.gif" was preserved on the finfin.de fansite. The other image "teo_nazo.gif" is lost.

#Househuntedgame #MaisonTalo #3DModel #VRoidHub #StuffIRandomlyFind
Randomly found this anime looking model of Maison Talo.
It looks well made and gives me N64DD model vibes.
Image not mine but link is there.
Maison Talo / Maison Talo - VRoid Hub
Yeah the model is gone.
This model's pose was just like the image but you can move him around while he had a light breathing animation while he blinks his eye.
He did move a little but his lure cord didn't.
There wasn't any noise coming from this model or the background.
Another image of the Maison Talo model and I think this was from the creator's account.
I really like this model.

that makes me wonder btw- do y'all have any pieces of lost media that have some kind of meaning to you/you're attached to? I mean lost media as in shows, movies, dubs, subs, physical things, etc., anything as long as it isn't accessible by the public
personally, I know it's basically impossible to restore but in a perfect world I would've loved to see the Instute of Sexology's books preserved before the were burned in 1933. that and the library of alexandria... if we're talking about more typical lost media tho, I'd really like to see more stuff from the N64DD and the (partially) lost Jojo movie.

Game: Mario Artist: Polygon Studio (Nintendo 64DD)
The Mario Artist games (Paint Studio, Talent Studio, Polygon Studio) featured delightful little creative programs that you and I will probably never get to try, considering that you’d need a working N64DD and a copy of the game which (having just checked ebay) you won’t find for less than $100. In addition to having a 3D modeling engine and little games for you to play with your models, Polygon Studio also featured the inception of what would later become the Warioware microgames!

Console Tan Lore Tour!!!!!
Tumblr media
(all on the Nintendo home console characters I have made, not including the handhelds and other things cause that's too much for one drawing!)
Wall of text incoming!
Basically each company has their own galaxy where all their ips take place (like Nintendo's is called Tendo) and every generation a console representative (console tan) Is made to represent that console. (like Rev would be the Wii Representative) These galaxies exist in a extradimensional area where time or place does not matter so ips that take place in different time periods can exist at the same time.
Console reps are born from the ideas of everyone at a company that helped create that console and thus console reps don't have parents. All console reps from the same company are considered sisters no matter how different they look from each other!
Sometimes though two reps will be born at once and they will be twins and tend to look more like each other. Most twins just end up as variations of the same console, Fami and Nessy are just the Japanese and western versions of the same console, Famibo and Snessy are the same. Some twins become add ons for a console like Roku (N64) and Rand (N64DD, not pictured here). But some twins end up being two different but still similar consoles, like Rev as the Wii and Yuuta as the Wii U.
There is usually only one active rep at a time so the other reps whos generations are over usually do other tasks around their galaxy. For example, Famibo deals with the more formal business deals while Rev likes helping out with virtual console stuff.
The active console representative is the one that would appear on all the adverts, show up at game events, and basically functions as a mascot of sorts for their console.
Console reps do not age past a certain point (when they become adults) and age much faster than humans. They are immortal but not invincible, and can die to injuries. The one part they must protect the most is their CPU 'heart', a chip that basically contains their soul and if destroyed they die. The rest of the body can be destroyed but if the CPU remains intact then it can just be left alone for a while and the console rep would be able to reform their body in a week or two. The CPU is where the heart of a human would be so cutting of their heads will not kill them! (it's just inconvenient until the head reforms)
Console reps can read data (either with their mouth cart slot/disk drive, or from the internet for some consoles) and 'eat' this data for energy. They can also plug into the wall with their tails if no games are available at the moment. They can (well the home consoles) function as normal(ish) consoles, the ports are in their backs and the disks/carts go in their mouth. (they only read the data, the media is not destroyed this way so just put any game in there) but console reps don't function as normal consoles very often unless they just wanna play their own games and there is no normal console around.
Other notes
-Fami is not the first Nintendo console rep but she is the one most people would recognize as being the first (the first rep is actually Kuzushi with the Color TV Game but she is not pictured here)
-Console representatives exist of handhelds, addons, and other console related items but only main console reps can transform into Super forms (home consoles and some handhelds)
-all the info about console representatives and how they work applies to all the gaming companies btw, I just posted the Nintendo one here since it was the line up I had ready at the moment.
