Back in the day, the Dr posted a picture of a couple N.A.D.R.A Deck Competition awards. I saved that picture in my goals and dreams folder even tho at that time in my career it seemed unreachable. Last week at the N.A.D.R.A Deck Competition in Clearwater, Florida I had the opportunity to meet the Doc and thank him in person for all that he has done for me and for the custom deck industry as a whole. The next night, with my family at my side and the Dr looking on I was on stage receiving a first-place award from N.A.D.R.A. The moral of the story? It took two men over 4 months to complete this massive project. Both decks are waterproofed with EPDM pond liner and the lower deck is completely skirted in matching products to provide a secure storage space for the homeowner. Custom made secure barn door access was created to gain access under the deck. Access to the lower yard is provided by a custom curved spiral staircase that is flanked with custom fabricated curved glass provided by Regal ideas and Coastal Curved Glass. More Regal ideas Crystal Rail curved glass is installed throughout the entire project that seamlessly flows with the lines of the deck. In-Lite lighting is provided for safe, night access down the curved staircase. Hideaway Screens provide privacy to the neighbors and a custom Timbertech Azek axe throwing station is installed behind a custom Azek PVC privacy wall on the far end of the deck." One of my #GOAT builds, this @timbertech #azek deck features Vintage collection decking, @regalideas #crystalrail railing featuring @coastalcurvedglass and @hideaway_screens, @inlitedesign low voltage led lighting and its being held together with @fastenmasterpro #cortex hidden plugging system. So much #love went into this deck. We will enter it in @nadrarocks deck competition next year as we have decided to take a year off from the competition. @djstudioman and I still need to go back and get the catalog shots. One for the record books indeed. Lots of people to be #thankful today. I appreciate @nadrarocks for the hardware. I only entered one #deck three times in this competition and took 4 awards for our efforts. Two #First Place, one as Alternate Deck and one as Limitless Creation, one Second Place for Best Deck Overall and one Third Place for illumination.
