mildly entertaining pjo fandom curse (mostly in that you can make games out of it):
everybody draws Piper showing skin. half the time Shel as well. literally almost EVERYBODY. go look at Piper fanart. is she wearing a crop top? i bet she is. or if she's wearing a dress hers is gonna be one of the most revealing. bonus points if they gave her a belly button piercing. and it's almost always only Piper and/or Shel. i thought we had a whole discussion about sexualizing young indigenous girls back in like 2021 but i guess nobody processed that part cause pjo fandom acts like if they dont have Piper show her stomach or have her shirt ride up they'll die.
the curse is that you will never unsee this. have fun with that.

I was blessed with the task of working on this commission.
I work as a volunteer at a wolf sanctuary, and one of the employees was recently diagnosed with cancer. I was pulled aside by one of the head animal care specialists and asked if I could make something for her, and this very medallion was the idea that immediately popped into my head, and I knew I had to make it.
The Mexican Wolf was a natural choice, as she has done so much for the Mexican Wolf program; even releasing some into the wild! Wolves are also about wisdom, community/family, and teaching.
Dandelions are about community, resilience, and self love. The two dandelions represent the two locations under the sanctuary; one in WA and one in MT. They are dispersing their seeds, showing both locations are sending not only their love, but their resilience to her at this time.
Purple is for the wisdom she holds and the strength she will have during this time (it is also the color of Creator), and green is for more community and self love.
I also included 4 labradorite stones; 4 for the Four Directions. Labradorite has always been a healing and protective stone for me, so I included them for those properties.
I hope this medallion finds her well and that she feels the love I put into every stitch <3

Yesterday I spent the day teaching crafts to a Jr High school! We talked about beading materials and craft beads, and then I helped them make a small craft (bracelet or keychain) to take home.
Here is my favourite keychain from yesterday:

I don't know who made it, they left it behind and I found it while cleaning up. It made me laugh so hard I had to take it home with me!

Me and my mom made earrings to sell at a craft fair and no one bought anything, a girl(20ish?) even said to my face she didn't like them.
If we don't sell these we'll be unable to pay rent and be kicked out of our house
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are even marked at less than half price people usually sell them for
I never thought as a 17 yo I'd be one of the main sources of income but here we are.
If you're interested please reach out, I can make custom ones as long as I have the beads for them

As an indigenous little lad, I decided to take a whack at redesigning the hero Native from BNHA. Because as someone who’s native… I’m not super fond of his character.
So he’s a two-spirit queer inuit/japanese hero who is a tad short. His quirk is now spotted seal or just seal which gives him seal capabilities. This mostly influences his navigation which is really good. That would explain why he is found with Stain. Maybe he was tracking him down. I could also give him angst with the HPSC.. perhaps.. he has a side nose ring and wants tattoos and has cool top surgery scars and he’s stoic and cool but actually shy (like a seal) and a little awkward. He’s well meaning and very close with his family but pretty closed off apart from that. He’s protective over kids and is pretty against kids experiencing the horrors of heroes work methinks.
Native had nothing going for him at all except a dash of cultural appropriation. Hopefully this brings some culture to him.

2024 vs 2025
Just one year can make a massive difference if you work at it everyday.
Never ever give up. The more you practice, the more you’ll improve

Leather jacket decorated with glass beads. Great Plains, Lakota peoples, 19th century
Museum. This jacket features beaded pictographic motifs that likely detail biographical and historical narratives. For centuries, Plains Indian artist painted buffalo hides with family and community histories. The United States’ buffalo eradication program forced artists to adapt their paintings to paper, canvas, and muslin in what came to be known as ledger art. A female artist beaded this buckskin jacket with pictographic motifs, reinterpreting the art form back onto leather.
