“Engaging in outdoor risky play brings forward the life preserving faculties in our mammalian nervous system, which offer profound opportunities for insight and growth.” -Nature-Based Therapy: A Practitioner’s Guide to Working Outdoors by Nevin Harper, Kathryn Rose, & David Segal . The natural consequences that come with taking risks is one of our greatest teachers. Children and adults need opportunities to test and adapt to risk. Playing in nature inherently offers these opportunities because of its constant change. These opportunities help us witness the constant change within ourselves. Offering up gentle challenges to our comfort zone as we test the limits of our danger zone. Which leads to the expansion and self-conditioning of our mental, emotional, spiritual and physical abilities. . My little man here biffed it hard coasting down a steep hill this morning as we walked around the US National Whitewater Center. He tested the limits of his danger zone head on. After he wept for his experience, he began talking about the next time we come and how he’s going to bike down the hill differently. . Take all the risks that feel appropriate to you and if you’re not comfortable taking risks go play in nature for a bit. #playinginnature #bikes #bike #bicycle #trailbiking #trailife #biffedit #biffedithard #naturalconsequences #consequences #takerisks #takerisksandprosper #foryourhealth #naturetherapy #naturebasedtherapy #usnationalwhitewatercenter #Ecoidentity #ecologicalmindset #re #radicalearth https://www.instagram.com/p/CCJHvNWh54B/?igshid=o8jhh6sath7j

DID YOU KNOW🐝😏that sometimes it is very spiritual to smack the living hell out of a predator who seeks to violate women & 👶🏾and who has gone unchecked? 👀It is even better when these slugs 🐌 don’t even see it coming. When did it come to a point where grown folks can barely muster the guts and energy to pull out a cell phone to record in the midst of violations to women and children 👶🏾?Imagine if a hundred or a thousand Mothers proceeded to fiercely put a hot 🥵 ass 🙌🏾 whoopin’ on said violator? Now that would be a solid demonstration that our lives matter. May a swarm of 9 million 🐝 Bees rain down their swift fierce stingers on the slick nonremorseful predators🙌🏾 lurking in the shadows and behind keyboards snd computer 💻 screens. Yaa Asantewaa, Nzinga, Harriet and my Aunty Joanne did not ask for permission to inflict an appropriately earned behind whoopin’ when deemed necessary. You have the blessings of the ancestors to protect yourself and the children 👶🏾. Get fit women and girls. You don’t want to be high and drunk without proper use of your motor skills and agility, discernment, and swift clear decision making when you need to in a moment’s notice. Consequences, clear healthy boundaries, and consistent respectful distance is appropriate and common sense and is needed asap. Too much easy access to wombs, affection, and hot meals is squandered on those who only have half hearted rhetoric to offer in response to physical abuse and disrespect. Tis the season for Afro women Quid Pro Quo. 😍🐝🌻#naturalconsequences #karma #semifreeformlocs #Africandance #locjourney #4chair #fineafrotexturedhair #locs #locstyles #plantbased (at Santa Elena, Cayo, Belize) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAo0wf0ndYz/?igshid=1lsr308vp5usf

“Sometimes natural consequences are too harsh. As parents, it is our job to know when a natural consequence could offer a learning experience, versus when it could be punitive and neglectful. Encourage the absorption of the lesson through support and compassion. Don’t elicit shame and guilt to reinforce the lesson learned. Your child will remember the judgement, and the belittlement, not the lesson.” J. Natural Consequences!
Check out my new blog about Natural Consequences. This blog is about Natural consequences that play a huge role in the self talk of reward and punishment. When choices made create negative natural consequences, the consequences can come as a gift. If we choose forgiveness of the self and learn the lesson the first time around. Getting back to pure self-love can be very difficult once the negative natural consequences have taken place. Read more here, it's totally worth it! Please share. http://bit.ly/2dUlBW6
