I just tried to do this 🤣🙄 . Absolutely amazing challenge. So fun. So stylish. So Summer 🎉🤩 . Thanks to @jennyg2bfit 💋💕💋 ☀️ wrapped up in another sunset 🌅 . . Today was a beautiful day. Most of my day spent outside. I woke up before the sun , headed to the beach 🏝 by boat, practiced yoga in the sand and waves 🌊 and then later watched the sunset at home. I saw two bucks 🦌 🦌 wander into my backyard... on Father’s Day 😍. We hardly ever see the “daddy deer” so I was so excited. I wanted to rush to take a picture but I was on the phone with my dad. He could tell I was so excited to see the fathers of the fawns I saw yesterday playing out back. He was willing to end our call so I could take pictures of the bucks. I said “Dad no it’s ok. It’s your day too. 😆. . . I hope your day was a good one too! If not, so sorry. I know isn't unusual for some people, but I just saw deer in our neighborhood! We are a small community bordered by busy city streets and no woods nearby. We have a small strip of trees separating us from the next neighborhood, but I'm talking small! All I can think of is poor things. I’ve been a little lax on posting here lately, spending most of my time working to pay bills and improve the home we’d moved into 2 years ago. I really got into #gardening last year - the first opportunity to do so, having made the leap from apartment living - and have therefore been taking a bit of time out to tend to some new #plants, as well as maintain those that preceded our arrival. Whomever did occupy this property prior was completely neglectful of the back yard, which left the soil so nuked that it could hardly harbor a few willing #rosebushes getting choked out by a field of weeds and #goatheads. There’s so much charcoal refuse and debris from plastic toys and ornaments that I’m tasked with sifting out all that rubbish from the soil in any part of the yard I wish to make use from. I can tell, however, that someone even further down the line really cared for this yard. It’s evident by the remnants of old rusted #landscaping partitions, buried sprinkler systems and raised (now rotted) wooden #plant beds that, at one time, a proud homeowner must’ve had a gorgeous #backyard to bask in. Now, as the current steward of this property, I feel it is up to me to redeem and replenish it to its former glory. I haven’t made a whole hell of a lot of progress in two years, but I’ve been able to get a small #herb and #tomato #garden growing on our back patio, and I’m currently doing what I can to nourish the aforementioned #soil in the plant beds that run along our back wall. It’s a lot of labor that I can only afford in little fits and stops, but each effort I make contributes to its overall progress. And candid moments, like this little #bee tucked in-between the petals of a #hollyhock #flower, are all the reward I need 🐝 🌺 #nature #honeybee #plantlife #insectlife #hummingbirds #greenthumb #motherearth #natureinmybackyard
