LIFE AFTER PORN, CAREER.

Delila,after 2 years in the sex industry, as a Madame hangs up the title to take on a career with her true passion, activism work. While she was involved heavily in those three years, she wanted to do more, she wanted to see more-- before becoming pregnant, she along with a group of other woman travel to third world countries to speak, to learn, to help-- building homes,  seeing the  needed medical professions do what they are needed to do, spending time with mothers and their children; one cause that she will fight endlessly for is those victims of sex trafficking in Iran. To hear their stories, to see their country not protect them shook the woman deeply. 

To become a partner in founding a foster home/halfway house in one of the worst parts of L.A was the calling she always needed and it turned into a steady career as she became a mother. Healing Scars was created as a safe place for those subjected to child abuse, trafficking, where they are brought to to reintroduce them into the normal ways of life. While Delila is not one of the foster mothers, she is there every day-- she handles funding for the non profit, does things from cooking in the kitchen, to drop offs and pick ups, to being the one of meet the child for the first time. One of the most important things she is involved in is teaching every single child that comes through self defense, she is known for that within the home, and is frequently called ‘Aunt De’. In the kitchen of her personal home, own home, on the fridge she had a collection of graduation pictures *highschool or college, sometimes both, of whatever child is comfortable sending them to her.

Delila was right when she said her purpose in the world was to help others that could not do it themselves, and it is the thing she is most proud of.

Never one for staying in a place for long, it’s no surprise Sam doesn’t linger in the business. Leaving about a year and a half later after saving up enough to pay off his school loans (several times over), Sam takes some time to travel, seizing the opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream of visiting every major league baseball park. Unsure of where to go afterwards, he returns to Atlanta and gets a job doing freelance artwork for small businesses, which allows him to create his own art on his time when not working on commissions. Living in Atlanta he’s excited about art again, making connections through old friends from art school which allow his work to be seen by the right people. A few months afterwards, he’s invited to participate in a showcase featuring local artists under 35, which leads to another showing, and actual commissions for pieces until finally, his own art exhibit opens in Studio ATL, a small gallery. The show, attended by his parents, is a critical hit. He returns to Fort Worth briefly on an invite from his old high school, to work on a mural for his alma mater, along with young aspiring artists in the area in an effort to show the importance of the arts in education. Most of his time is divided between Atlanta and Texas, and he’s hoping to expand his work in other cities eventually.

HER    L I F E...

Audrey leaves porn less than 2 YEARS after coming to NDHQ. It’s still longer than she wanted to stay, but she was - weirdly - thankful for the security that the last minute decision brought her during one of the most turbulent years of her life. ADAM makes the DIVORCE difficult on the both of them, fighting every step of the way. It’s expensive, and she can’t justify sinking everything she has into the fight so it drags out longer than it should. 

The paperwork is finalized in late 2019, and it feels like Audrey is starting a brand new chapter of her life. She finds a partner that loves her for who she is [ whether they’ve already met isn’t entirely clear... ] and together they have an unplanned BABY and start living a new adventure with the vigour that she wished she lived during her early 20s. They travel, they talk about the real things, and they work through them together. 

Audrey doesn’t get MARRIED again, but she doesn’t feel like she needs to. Her new love feels different in every way than her last one was, and there’s no rush to run down the aisle. Her partner provides a security and comfort that she’d yearned for for years. they both FIND THEIR PASSION and build a life outside of Los Angeles. . . 

HER    C A R E E R...

When she and her partner finally settle down [ wherever that may be ] Audrey STUMBLES upon her calling. She’s wandering the streets in a quaint neighbourhood and strikes up a conversation with an elderly BOOKSTORE OWNER. He and his wife built their store themselves and after four decades in an old brick building, it’s become a neighbourhood institution.

Upon the PASSING OF HIS WIFE, the owner - Mr. Greenlad - was looking to finally retire. They had no children to pass it onto, and the business has been for sale for years. Within a month, the store changes owners, and Audrey steps into the role of business owner. She struggles - no business experience, a high school education - but she loves what she does. She takes online business classes from the local community college during the day to help her find her footing. Blaine Anderson spends a good 5 years at NDHQ before calling it quits, retiring a wealthy and satisfied man. He is also married at this point to his one true love and is planning a family. He doesn’t regret a single thing he did or learned, and loves all the relationships he made. He still talks to all his friends in the industry, even though he has moved on to bigger and better things with his music career. His music career lands him on Broadway and a Tony for his role as Hedwig in Hedwig And The Angry Inch. His true fans know about his pornographic past but love him just as much.

HEADCANON ►  AFTER PORN ENDS

Ryder left NDHQ almost two years after joining their ranks. He had grown too comfortable doing porn that he almost forgot what it was like to do anything else. It wasn't until his best friend growing up, Zack, came into town and the two had lunch that he began to question the decision to stay with the company. Zack was one of the select few of Ryder's friends that he had told about working in porn, even before he started at NDHQ. Zack was interviewing for a big marketing firm out in LA that mainly handled promotions and marketing campaigns for musical artists. Ryder knew Zack didn't mean anything by it, but the way he said, "You still doing porn?" before digging into his food rubbed Ryder the wrong way. Almost as if he should have been doing more with his life. Ryder shrugged it off, "If you mean still getting more ass than you, then yeah, I'm still doing it," He answered, trying not to let his uncomfortableness peak through for the rest of lunch. Over the next few weeks though, he couldn't shake the comment off. Maybe he should be doing more with his life, he had a degree in a field he enjoyed, but still the fear of failure stayed in the back of his head.

Ryder didn't tell anyone he was thinking of leaving the company, scared that someone would try to talk him out of it even though he knew more than likely, that wouldn't be the case, in fact if he had told someone they probably would have been supportive of him. Despite this, he didn't tell anyone about leaving until he had already received a job offer from Paramount as a marketing consultant. He put in his two weeks' notice and left his suite within a week and a half. The first couple of months away from the company were the hardest. He didn't expect that. He'd already been living across the country from his family for two years but this time he left a different family. That's what he considered most of the people at NDHQ, family, sure a weird family that has sex for money, but a family nonetheless. These were people who had witnessed him at some of his best moments and some of his worst, it was next to impossible to leave that all behind.

After Porn Ends. Hiram Berry was found dead by his partner of fifty years, Leroy Berry. Just days later Leroy Berry also passed away from a heart attack believed to be brought on from the loss of his husband.
