This deserves a separate post but something else that i have realized during my rewatch is that in Episode 1, Beelzebub offers Crowley pretty much the same exact thing that the Metatron will offer Azi at the very end of the season.

And Crowley seems so indifferent about it, it is not remotely important to him, while when it happens to Aziraphale- it is one of the most important parts of his existence

You wanna know sm I find crazy? Not once has Aziraphale denied or negatively responded towards people assuming more of his relationship with Crowley.

Crowley gets called his boyfriend to his face, they get assumed to be an item, he gets accused of liking Crowley by other angels -> no comment from Aziraphale whatsoever.

“You don’t seem him type at all” -> defensive eyebrow raise.

They’re probably married in his mind.

Pride and Prejudice

Y'all.

Y'ALL! My friend pointed this out and now I can't unsee it. It's Pride and Prejudice. S2 is just Pride and Prejudice. Aziraphale is Darcy. He confesses his feelings by telling Elizabeth "I love you, despite the fact that your family is terrible and you're totally beneath me, but I'm willing to overlook that and elevate you to my position and we can live together in this perfect fantasy world (that I control.)" Crowley is Elizabeth. Who rightfully responds to Darcy's confession by saying "WOW, you are such an arrogant asshole, really?? You think you know everything and you're that much better than me, but you'll deign to marry me anyway?? Get out of here." BUT. BUT. THEY ARE BOTH WRONG and are blinded by their existing prejudices. Darcy goes back and he acknowledges Elizabeth's points, and he corrects his mistakes. He realizes he was being an arrogant asshole, he makes amends, and then he comes back and apologizes and says "I still love you, will you still have me?" And Elizabeth realizes that she was wrong too, Darcy WAS arrogant but he does genuinely care, and she was letting her preconceptions of him blind her to his true intentions. And she apologizes too, and they get their happy ending. That is the plot. That is S2. Aziraphale makes his confession and he tells Crowley, I love you and I need you (despite you being a demon and inherently less than me), but come with me and I'll restore you to being an angel, we can be happy together in literal Heaven. I was so, so angry at Aziraphale when he pulls the "I forgive you" line after the kiss-- it's such a condescending thing to say. Crowley has made himself open and vulnerable in a way we've never seen before, but he's also telling Aziraphale no, he won't go to Heaven, and Aziraphale responds with "I forgive you" (for being a demon who just isn't Good enough to understand my perfect vision). And Crowley is (rightfully) pissed off at Aziraphale's arrogance here, as well as angry that Aziraphale has misjudged him so badly. He doesn't want to be in Heaven. He just wants to be together, and how dare Aziraphale think he can only be good enough if he's an angel again?? But we're still only in Act 2. They have Act 3 to figure it out, and to realize they misjudged each other, and to forgive each other. And the next time, instead of one or the other doing the silly Apology Dance, they'll both do it. And get their happy ending.

Good Omens s2 SPOILERS

One thing I think is interesting is that s2 ending almost has a

“Aziraphael wants Crowley to join him but Crowley thinks Aziraphael needs him to change who he is entirely” kind of vibe.

And honestly Aziraphale does believe that, albeit subconsciously, because “you’re the bad guys.”

But Crowley shouldn’t change.

(All that be who you are be proud love yourself blah blah blah like obviously) but

He doesn’t need to change.

He is not Hell incarnate as he should be as a demon, and he isn’t Heaven incarnate as Aziraphale wants him to be.

He is Crowley incarnate,

a demon who turns goats into birds to save them,

who is mortified to learn that god kills kids in a flood,

who turns Jobs kids into little lizards to save them from the idiotic bet of two celestials over a mans existence,

who implores god herself to stop the end of the world, for humanity’s sake,

the fallen Angel who covered another with his own wings as bits of stars and nebula rained down on them,

a demon who stopped a young girl from killing herself and set her up with the means to make a living and was tortured for it,

a demon who forgave the archangel fucking Gabriel for trying to kill his best friend, his Angel.

He is Crowley incarnate,

who goes along with Hell as much as he can,

(which never seems to be very much)

despite it being incredibly lonely.

And Aziraphale was beside him for some of it, most of it in fact. But not completely. Not the way he wants him to be.

I don't mind spoilers. In fact, I like stories better when I have an idea what I'm getting into. So, I knew how Good Omens Two was going to end, I knew what the current discourse was, I knew the twist at the end. It wasn't a secret.

But

Y'all

(It goes without saying, spoilers under to follow.)

Look, I keep seeing people discussing the Ineffable Divorce. Was Crowley just realizing his feelings, or just admitting them? Did Aziraphale betray Crowley by leaving, or not? But guys, everyone is talking about The Kiss like it was a big confession --

and obviously it was --

for Crowley.

Crowley, who can BARELY keep himself together.

Crowley who looks like he is in hell because of what is happening in front of him.

But Aziraphale...

On to the divorce.

I really need you to look at this exact moment. (I apologize for the gif quality, this is my first time.)

"We're a group. A group of the two of us. And we've spent our existence pretending that we aren't."

Do you see those eyebrows at the end? That is the exact moment Crowley says "pretending that we aren't."

and Aziraphale's eyebrows respond what the f do you mean?

Crowley is going on and on about how they're a group, and Aziraphale has no idea where he is going with this, because it seems out of the blue for him -- what's changed?

Crowley is confessing his love to Aziraphale and Aziraphale is completely blindsided because

HE THOUGHT THEY WERE ALREADY MARRIED.

When Nina asks how long they have been together, Crowley gets flustered, backpedals, tries to insist they're not an item.

Nobody asks Aziraphale, but I think he would have given a perfect little smile and said,

"Oh, a long time."
