Anyway the animation reminds me of How I Trained My Dragon especially with Red and Blue. I liked this movie more.

The basic premise is imperialist nation that is “winning” the war has rewritten history is such a way to make them the good guys that deserve loyalty and respect without question for 100+ years…that sounds familiar.

This will be my go to movie now. Just because it’s just that good not to watch again…*which I am as I’m writing this review*. Great movie to watch with a great and important message that needs to be taught to children and adults alike. It’s also great just to have in in the background just for sea shanty music alone.

I watched a phenomenal movie last night. Giant Kaiju fights, epic monster designs, gorgeous cinematography, editing historical records to better suit the wealthy elite and colonization, found family. It's beautiful. It's amazing. It's a beast of a movie.

like yes i love the fact it had a lowkey similar vibes with how to train your dragon with the "taming a dangerous beast that was actually a gentle creature all along" trope BUT

you gotta love how strongly the ending screams of "sCREW THE GOVERNMENT AND THEIR PROPAGANDA THAT HAS INSTILLED GENERATIONS WORTH OF FEAR TO PROFIT THEIR OWN GREED AND HELP KEEP THEIR POWER!!"

Briefly went to IMDb to give the sea beast a good rating. The number of people chalking it up to a HTTYD rip off and nothing more is making me feral. Gain media literacy. It’s not a cash grab. It’s not a company like Disney grabbing wildly to attract a the most demographics. It’s artists making a real, beautiful touching story. I know, crazy that it would remind you of another beautiful, touching story. Don’t know how that would happen. One is not better than the other. They’re two amazing films.
