Everyone was all like "oh there is no satisfying way they're going to fix this TPK" "it has to be a timeloop" "they have to make new characters or it meant nothing" well how about the horror of instead being forced into an alternate universe that is almost like your own but just ever so slightly bleaker? What then? What if home is still there but it's not your home anymore, it's that of someone who died in your stead? What if the world you're fighting to save isn't even really your own anymore?

Watched the new Neverafter last night and is Cinderella giving off Aabria Iyengar vibes to anyone else or is that just me? Like, even without the character art, something about the way Brennan played her reminded me of Aabria.

Dimension 20: Neverafter spoilers from ep3+

Unrelated to anything related to my ao3, but I'm currently watching ep4 and with everyone being reborn into the new reality it's just making me wonder how their friends/family in the previous life hear about their deaths in battle

Like, when does Elody hear of her husbands death? Does it reach her ears that a wicked fairy was slain and Gerald is recounted as one of the fallen?

Does she know that he struck the final blow? That his last act was his first step towards heroism, that after they parted he perhaps began to understand?

Does she come across the battlefield herself? Does she find her husband, still frozen in his beastly frog form, with a shard of magical glass stuck into his chest, hands ripped apart and stained with dried blood? How long does she cry for him- would it be for his life or that it ended surrounded by strangers?

Would Gerards body change back, before it begins to rot? Is he even recognised, buried, or is he left to decompose, forever unknown?

“While the world was changing, the rules were not” i think that line is actually really powerful, like it’s small. But i think it is central to pinocchio as a character.

Maybe it’s a modified version of the subclass with the stories as new homebrewed tale from beyond options to choose from
