In my head. Uksies Mike & Ike ARE twins (or just brothers), but they act like they're not. They run in different circles, they try and stay as far away from each other as possible, and they never interact (save for after the seize the day fight, where they sit next to each other on the same bunk until the next day, Ike's head resting on Mike's shoulder). No one knows why, and once a upon a time, when they were younger, they were best friends — now they want nothing to do with each other.

Okay, to start us out, Smalls is our Edith, because of course she is <3 !! I don't really have anything more 2 say about this besides the fact that she is the youngest member of her family.

I think Medda is probably Edie, just a gut feeling. Not really anything 2 elaborate on here, either😭

& to start us out death wise, Pips is Molly !! Not any specific reason other than she's little, & Molly's death makes me really sad :(

One of the Bowery Beauties is Barbara !! &. She is murdered by a fan. Ik it's not like specifically stated in the game, but in this AU. She IS.

Calvin is Ike !! I think he could also work very well with Jack, but Ike is easier to mold into Calvin because he doesn't have a canon personality &. Twins. Obviously

I don't know who Walter could be, honestly, so leaving him blank 4 now :(

To add onto Calvin being Ike, Mike is Sam !! His story goes pretty much the same (not well).

Splasher is. Gregory. Did you see that coming. I hope you did. He's just a little guy :( his death ALSO makes me cry sosososo hard.

Racetrack is Gus !!! I actually haven't gotten 2 his part while playing the game myself, & I don't remember much about him from the play through I watched. But from what I DO remember. I think it fits him.

Crutchie is Milton !! Pretty self explainable, I think.

Jack is Lewis !! Stuck in his own head, kills himself because of a fantasy, iirc he & Edith were also pretty close which checks out.

Let’s talk about Mike and his fans. From Newsies to the Challengers and The Bikeriders premieres, Mike always took time for the fans. He is always more comfortable taking selfies and signing autographs than walking the red carpet.

Exploring background manhattan newsie looks!! I want to give them all a cohesive colour scheme and all slightly different outfits, also more variety in ages, lengths and nationalities. Also they're just so fun to draw
