headcanon request: playing mario kart on the switch

Malleus Draconia

༊*·˚ When you first invite him to a game night, Malleus will look at you with visible surprise for a few moments. Soon, his expression will shift to a bemused look aimed at you as he quirks his eyebrows. “My, are you sure that you wish to invite me to your private quarters for this so-called “game night”? You are quite bold, indeed, Child of Man.”

༊*·˚ Once Malleus gets comfy in the room for the game night, you start setting up the Switch that you recently bought from Sam. “What is that,” he will ask. When you tell him it’s a Switch, he’ll cast you a confused look. “A switch? Should it not be attached to the wall?” You’ll have to explain to him that it’s not that kind of switch.

༊*·˚ Explaining the controls to Malleus will be difficult because of his unfamiliarity with technology. X button? Joystick? He’ll be busy staring at the controller in his hands, awed at how small it is and yet how complex it can be. And you can use this controller to do certain things on the screen without needing to be right next to it? It’s like magic, and yet, there is no magic involved, and it intrigues Malleus.

༊*·˚ The moment you two have to choose a character, Malleus will be immediately drawn to the blonde princess with a gown of carnation shades and make no hesitation in choosing her. The blonde hair and the pink dress remind him of the famed Sleeping Beauty. 

༊*·˚ It’s one thing to conjure an image in your mind and bring it to life with your hands through the power of magic. It’s another thing to be using a controller that you’re unfamiliar with while watching a screen to see what to do. Malleus cannot remember which button does this and that and often finds himself driving backwards or hopping in place, sometimes even pressing the pause button by accident (which you have to take care of for the race to resume). He’s confused on which is left and right, and often, he’ll be bumping into the walls or falling off the track. By the time you’re on the final lap, Malleus is still stuck in the first lap, frowning over how to race properly.

Sebek Zigvolt

༊*·˚ When you invite him for a game night, Sebek will immediately reject it at first. He has no time for such frivolities because who will be there to guard the Young Master?! He cannot afford to depart from his side! But Malleus and Lilia will step in, telling him to take a much needed break. With reluctance, Sebek will accept the game night, if only to please his Young Master and Lilia. 

༊*·˚ Upon making himself comfortable in the room you’re hosting the game night, you explain to him the rules and mechanics of Mario Kart. “I see,” he speaks once you finish. “Then that means I must win for the sake of the Young Master’s honor!!!”

༊*·˚ Like Malleus, when you introduce to him the Switch, Sebek will frown at the gadget and mistake it for a light switch, which you have to explain that it’s a Nintendo Switch. But unlike Malleus, Sebek immediately understands which control does what. Easy, he’ll claim with a haughty tone. 

༊*·˚ For a beginner, Sebek is not bad. Though he may bump on the walls a few times or fall off the track a couple of times, he remembers the button needed to accelerate, learns quickly how to maneuver the joystick, and knows how to use the items from the special boxes. 

༊*·˚ He’ll get heavily invested in the game. Sebek gets so excited every time he surpasses you that he ends up standing at some point while aggressively holding the controller in his hands. He’d be yelling a bunch of “YES!” when one of his shells hits you, and when you attack him, he’d be yelling out, “HOW DARE YOU AIM YOUR ATTACK AT ME, HUMAN!” 

༊*·˚ It’s a close match, but eventually, you come out as the victor. Sebek’s frustration will show in his expression and clenched fist, feeling defeated from knowing that he could not attain that victory for Malleus. When he’s asked if he had fun, Sebek will huff and say, “I suppose it was not half bad.”, ignoring the fact that he was grinning the whole time he was playing with you.

Favorite Color: Blue! Though to be honest, I generally lean towards the cooler color spectrum, so I adore most colors in that spectrum.

Currently Reading: I’m not currently reading anything, but I plan to reread The Language of the Stars by Louise Hawes!

Last Song: I have two because I did listen to this song a few hours ago, but it’s still incomplete. The last complete song I listened to was Liar Dance by DECO*27 while the last last (incomplete) song was Queen Fox by Raon Lee. (Plsplsplspls Feb 9, hurry up, I want the full version sosososo BAD)

Last Series: Depends whether I completed it or if I’m still watching it. The last series I completed was Yurucamp while the series I’m currently watching is Forest of Piano.

Last Movie: Snow White. Watched it with some friends because Yana said that you’d enjoy the current Twst JP event more after watching Snow White.

Sweet, Savory, or Spicy: This depends on my mood, to be honest. 🤔 Right now, I’d rather taste something savory, so savory it is! 😋

Currently Working On: There’s this Azul fic that I’m working on to celebrate his birthday. I’m far from done, and I still have to fix a lot of things. 😅 Hopefully, I can upload the first chapter by February 17. 😩
