I uh...might have done a thing. 😮

Yesterday I went downloading for like 7 hours... I went through the poppet hairs tumblr all the way as far back until before v2 was made and opened tabs of every creator there was and downloaded 1000+ alpha hairs in poppet v2 textures/colors. Then today after weeding through and deleting anything I didn't actually like and/or duplicates I've ended up with 658 different hairstyles. 👍

Why did I do this? Well, three primary sources are to blame. 😆

But also I've always kinda wanted to try poppet hairs 🤔 in fact I did try this exact thing a few weeks ago but my download sample didn't convince me so I kept using clay. Then platasp released her defaults which tbh I feel a little bad about giving up on already but I've been losing interest in clay for a while now I think actually. the defaults gave them a bit more life but I'm not quite so sure atm.

Back in the day when I used more realistic cc my primary hair system was pooklet/io/digi etc but back then I also downloaded anything and everything. When I first switched to maxis match I started with NHS but at the time there wasn't enough styles in it for an addict like myself and I ended up switching to simgaroop. Then I switched to using only clay hairs in eaxis colors. But I've always kinda liked poppet's colors and wanted to give them a shot. I haven't downloaded any defaults yet (although I know rudhira and loosiap will have me set) because I just wanted to focus on custom to start.

I haven't yet put them in my main game so everyone in Strangetown still has their clay hairs atm (and obviously will for the rest of what's currently in my queue) but my plan is to make a backup of the hood and label it clay and then go in and give everyone new hairs and see how I feel. In the meantime, here's my fav cc model Ben with kewai-dou levi. It's the only hair I specifically searched for by name to make certain I had because it's been my favorite alpha hairstyle for years idk what it is about it but I needed to make sure I had it if nothing else.

So yeah... I guess new cc hair aesthetic just in time for 2024? I'll still be keeping all 500+ clay hairs in a backup so I can answer any wcifs and obviously in case I've made a terrible mistake and wanna switch back 😂

Random thoughts: the three universities that come out with the University expansion are connected to the three neighborhoods of the base game:

Sim State University - Pleasantview

La Fiesta Tech - Strangetown

Académie Le Tour - Veronaville

SO, It means that all the students of those universities come from their respective neighborhoods, so when they finish university...everyone should go back to their neighborhood.

And THINK ABOUT IT, this means that PV, ST and VV have MUCH more canonical sims than only the ones of the base game!

If only someone created parents for these sims or if only Maxis created the parents and left them in the family bin it would have been so cool

Extra ideas: You know that each neighborhood generates extra families that stay in the family bin, right? So theoretically THOSE are ALSO sims who live in those neighborhoods. But if you don't want them there you can make them live in Downtown since Downtown is empty. (Even having townies of every NH live in Downtown is a nice idea)

1. What’s your favorite world in any sims game? Best looking is by far TS1's Magic Town. Plus Makin' Magic introduced gardening which I was obsessed with.

Favorite premade neighborhood in TS2 is Strangetown, as it has the best story and also aliens, ghosts and mad scientists. You know, the good stuff. 

Idc about Pleasantview and how everyone is cheating on each other I want ALIENS!

4. What lifespan length do you play with? I've already answered this, but I like to play sims until they reach elderhood! I love having elders play with and teach the youngers their skills.

9. What type of CC can you never resist downloading?

PLANTS PLANTS PLANTS PLAAAAAANTS

Also, good elder female clothing with a good shape. The best clothes for elder females (imo) have structure, are bulky in a good way?

13. How long have you been playing the Sims and how did you get into it?

Dude. Too long. Early 00's. I got into it after playing TS1 with my cousin and found out she was a CC maker. And as I explained here, my Girl Scout leader's daughter had TS1 and I envied it.

27. Favorite pack from any sims game that you’ve gotten to play (if different from #3)

I might be in the minority on this, but I love Bon Voyage! I love sending sims on vacation, they deserve it.

29. What gameplay/CAS/BB feature would you like to see added/changed in the game?

omfg if I didn’t have to run businesses without having a million hacks and hacked items! If OFB could be fixed completely?! Anyone’s welcome to send me a list of “everything you need to successfully run a restaurant/bakery in TS2 and have it not hemorrhage money”.

I never do this before, since I'm on the simblr community less than a year (but I play since 2008). But let's see if I can reach some of them

Rebuild my entire downloads folder (I'm already crying)

Separate two games folder, one for an alpha save and other more maxis match

Edit more hair defaults in the NHS.

Organize my rotations of Alternative Strangetown

Maybe...start a BACC 🤔

And...one thing that I tried last year and was avoiding for a while...translate ACR to Brazilian Portuguese. I tried to find around the internet, but no success...I know that most part of us play the game in English, but I really miss a true vanilla game in my native language...this gives me so much nostalgia. Let's see...

1. Pleasantview or Strangetown?

I just love Pleasantview, even though Strangetown has the more interesting story. So Pleasantview it is.

6. Favourite family from Veronaville and why?

Idk, I just feel connected to the Capps in a way, especially the Juliette/Hermia/Tybalt household. They are all interesting characters who deserve better than this old feud.

17. What do you love about this part of franchise?

Everything! I remember when it came out and people talked about how glorious it was and how good the graphic is. The graphic (besides the NH houseview) is still amazing even in 2021, especially with CC. The gameplay has so many thoughtful details.

More Good News For V4Velindre As The Shop Girls “Sign Up” For Our Forty-Track Fundraiser.

Another boost for V4Velindre as the Shop Girls offer their support. Very excited to have them participate. Here’s the bio that the band sent in -

Shop Girls are a 4-piece group, living in Cardiff, with songs from heaven.

They were formed after the demise of the skiffley Bones of Saint James and, in their short time together, have had many adventures, supporting The Blockheads and The Libertines, playing in the hallowed Brixton Academy and Hay on Wye, writing and recording as much as possible and releasing their thrilling debut EP, "A Lovely Day At Anfield". This was produced by Daf Ieuan of the Super Furry Animals at his Strangetown Studios and is named after a comment a commentator made whilst we were having a break, during one of their matches. James P Davies writes the songs and they are all utterly divine; there are no fillers. They're culled from everywhere really, from growing up listening to Madness and Smokey Robinson in my Dad's car, going camping down the Gower to the Fine Young Cannibals in my Mum's car, looking out the window. Our songs are very emotive, short and punchy and we've just recruited a new organist/farfisa player who has added some beautiful backing vocals.

We recorded a very lo-fi LP, "Joy Of A Boy" with our friend Steve Hawkins a few years ago and, since the lockdown, have been recording every song we have, big and pristine, for our first proper LP. We've enjoyed this period of not playing live as it's given us nice peace and quiet to record and write more beautiful songs. It was our privilege and honour to be asked to contribute to this wonderful album for such a fantastic, important cause. We know a lot of people who've been treated by Velindre and the staff can't have enough praise and love for their amazing work.

What V4Velindre is all about

From the minute that we are born our lives intersect with the National Health Service. We all have stories (happy and sad) of the crucial role the NHS plays in our very existence. Nothing, though, could have prepared us for the sacrifice that NHS staff all over the country made to keep us safe during the COVID pandemic. Just between March 2020 and December 2020 883 NHS staff members died from COVID doing their duty and so much more. As the NHS, and the nation, seeks to rebuild in the wake of the pandemic we need to come together and make our contribution. As Nye Bevan famously said, ‘the NHS will last only as long as there’s folk with faith left to fight for it’. That fight comes in many measures – some will work for the NHS, some will vote for the NHS, some will protest for the NHS, and some will help finance its upkeep through jumble sales and sponsored walks. Please consider purchasing V4Velindre, every single penny of the proceedings that comes to me from the sale of this album will be passed straight to the Velindre Cancer Centre. Beneath the tough exterior, Hoot is a big softie. He's happiest when his sister Annie is stable and the bar is doing well. So when Virginya needed a place to crash, Hoot couldn't say no.

aka the only sims I really care about from the PSP game are the Howell siblings + Virginya so I yoinked them from chrisnewbie’s Strangertown and added them to the save :)
