Sometimes, one is disappointed to where they are now. They regret the steps they've taken, the direction they ran in when they should have taken the time to carefully examine, the crossroads where they chose the wrong side. As we turn of age, we face these crossroads. But there aren't two or three paths. There are thousands. Thousands of misty forests, dry savannas, murky swamps, dim-lit streets and rosy gardens. Here it all lies. There is no turning back. We must choose a road, and stick with it. When facing these options, one question arises. How do we decide what is best for us? Do we choose the brightest or the darkest? The most interesting or the most dull? The most foreign or most nostalgic? There is no correct answer. Each route lies a different fate, and each fate lies a different ending. Our first instinct is to use our logic. Trying to determine a path using prior knowledge and experiences. But with so many options, some are still pondering. So how does one who is still undecided come to a conclusion? Simple. The heart. The heart is the most vital organ in our body. It regurgitates oxygen and pumps it through out our entire body. It is also seen as "the emotion holder." What we really refer to when saying the heart, is the mind. The heart is just an organ, but the mind is what controls how we feel. The brain envelopes our senses and generates reaction. It's the reason why we feel the way we do. But when cut down to relying on raw emotion, our primal instincts come out. This instinct chooses our path. This instinct sets us on the course of our life. It gives us purpose. Yes, it may have been the television show you watched once, or the sports game you witnessed. But other people witnessed it and glanced over it. You though, your instinct spoke out to you and told you "yes, this is it. This is what my purpose will be." Not the person sitting next to you, but yours. This is what leads you, to take your steps towards the journey of your life. Towards your end.
