i'm actually really happy with the new cultural center they opened in india. it sounds really cool and obviously opening night was amazing. i saw a video of some of the performances and its great that they're celebrating anywhere from classical dance and music to fashion, design, art, food. its truly really cool. even newer pop culture things from the north are being incorporated such as movies, etc. the ambani family putting their enormous amount of wealth to actual good use is great too.

i really HOPE the center is going to be some sort of outreach/portal for smaller creators especially. it could give them access to bigger brands, while celebrating different styles. i don't want shitty bollywood nepotism to be apart of this like please no. these actors are a part of modern culture but that doesn't mean they should distract us from different art styles present throughout. so in conclusion, its okay to invite celebs because thats how it gains publicity but the center should be open to smaller creators. i really hope it is.

God forbid a brown man throws a party for a theater that represents great opportunity for artists in India and gets compared to President Snow but the Mete Gala has been happening for years and no one who’s attending says anything like this.

Comparing South Asian clothes and clothes with heavy South Asian influences to Capitol costumes is cultural insanity and ignorance at its finest. Your in my country, wearing my clothes, at an event that’s supposed to represent more opportunities for my people and you have the audacity compare it to costumes?!

Indian people have wearing clothes like these for hundreds of years, they have historical and cultural value, they’re clothes have survived years colonization and comparing them to costumes is just so demeaning. They’re clothes that are worn at weddings and cultural and religious events, and this is just disgusting. I

A lot of Hollywood was invited and they new their place so why can’t you?

It’s literally a cultural heritage center, not a damn costume party. And to compare us to the Captiol that’s responsible for being oppressive, wasteful, over the top, and fictional is dehumanizing. I know our culture is out of this world but it doesn’t mean it’s fictional. The Captiol is also known to be uncivilized group of people for making kids fight to the death, are you calling us uncivilized and savage (because that would certainly be new🙄)

Also stop comparing it to the Met Gala, it’s not an Indian Met Gala, Met Gala is a costume party that happens every year with a theme. My culture is not a costume, and our clothes are not your cosplay

Last night, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) celebrated its grand opening in Mumbai, attracting the biggest names in fashion and film. Below is a list of the evening’s most stylish celebrities. 

Alia Bhatt :

Alia Bhatt dazzled in a custom-made Vaishali S sari, showcasing a unique pleated structure and pre-draped silhouette. Paired with a heavily adorned bustier, she accessorized with a floral-embroidered haath bandh, choker necklace, diamond earrings, bracelets, and statement rings. With her hair in a center-parted bun and minimal makeup, her outfit was a true standout. 

Shah Rukh Khan:

Shah Rukh Khan was impressed with his pinstripe blazer, complete with padded shoulders, a black top, and slim-fitted pants. Complementing his look with a luxurious watch, gold chain, and bracelets, he sported a sleek updo. 

Deepika Padukone & Ranveer Singh:

Both lovely couples dressed to complement one another. Deepika donned an embellished jacket, palazzo pants, and a cape jacket with a floor-length train, while Ranveer wore a pearl white sherwani featuring an asymmetrical hemline. 

Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas:

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s looks contrasted beautifully. Priyanka’s shimmering gown featured a floral-applique cape, while Nick opted for a lacy top, loose pants, and an oversized blazer.

Kareena Kapoor & Saif Ali Khan:

The lovely couple exuded chic elegance.  Kareena wore a red embellished lehenga, while Saif sported an ivory Nehru jacket and trousers. 

Kiara Advani & Sidharth Malhotra:

Both looked absolutely radiant. Kiara, the Jugjugg Jeeyo actor, wore a stone-embellished fitted blouse and a dazzling lehenga, while Sidharth chose a cream blazer, matching kurta, and pants. 

Giga Hadid:

Giga Hadid turned heads in a floral ensemble, including a multi-colored bralette, sheer long jacket, and flared pants. Her half ponytail, layered necklace, statement earrings, and white stilettos completed the look. 

Athiya Shetty:

Athiya Shetty continued to wow us with her fashion choices, opting for a sequined blazer with a pearl finish and a drape, paired with embroidered pants. 

Sonam Kapoor:

Sonam Kapoor appeared timeless in a georgette sari draped beneath a custom silk dupion jacket and a jeweled kamar bandh. Additionally, she accessorized with a statement necklace and earrings and styled her hair in a sleek bun. Furthermore, her makeup featured a classic red lip, winged liner, eyeshadow, and blush.

Suhana Khan, Gauri Khan & Aryan Khan:

Suhana Khan, Gauri Khan, and Aryan Khan attended the NMACC launch in high style. Firstly, Suhana looked glamorous in a strapless, bold red gown with a corseted bodice, thigh-high slit, and floor-sweeping train. Meanwhile, Gauri donned a sheer asymmetrical dress, and finally, Aryan wore a printed blazer with a black shirt and pants in NMACC.

Varun Dhawan:

Varun Dhawan sported a purple blazer with a matching top and white pants, paired with brown shoes, looking dapper. 

Karisma Kapoor:

Karisma Kapoor appeared ethereal in a Sabyasachi-designed sari and cropped cape, accessorizing with a clutch and dangling earrings. 

Natasha Poonawalla:

Natasha Poonawalla looked ravishing in a black Sabyasachi gown featuring floral embroidery and a furry cape, accessorized with a sling bag and statement necklace. 

Kriti Sanon:

Kriti Sanon wore a stunning head-to-toe red ensemble, including a shirt dress and floor-length cape, completing her look with matching heels and a diamond choker.Read More

Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center inaugurated on 31st March by Nita and Mukesh Ambani in presence of many well known personalities through the globe. The NMACC was built to show the sensory journey of India's rich cultural, arts facility in the Bandra Curla Complex in Mumbai. NMACC Gala was a two day event where celebrities enjoyed themselves showed the influence of  India  on global fashoin.
