Ever since my taxidermy school fiasco, I wanted to spend this month highlighting some of the notable black taxidermists in the field. Many of them were only recognized for thier contributions in the past 10 or so years even though they spent the majority of thier lives dedicated to animal preservation.

P+ Measurement Services, the media measurement and evaluation agency recently introduced a broadcast advert analytics report. The agency is calling Nigeria’s first dedicated broadcast analytics audit reporting platform. The platform will help brands interpret their TV and radio advert compliance reports.

About the Broadcast Analytics Audit Reporting Platform
According to P+ Measurement Services, the solution is the first of its kind in the Nigerian marketing and communications industry. The solution was designed to help brands transform their reports into a smart and easy-to-navigate dashboard. Usually, the reports are in Excel sheets, with the solution, brands can transform their reports into a format that’s easy to interpret. Philip Odiakose, the Lead Consultant at P+ Measurement Services spoke about the new solution. According to him, brands can use the solution to gain insight into their campaigns. He talked about how they're usually a lot of intelligence buried in the report and how the solution can help leverage the intelligence. The solution will help monitoring agencies present reports in a way that allows brands to gain insight easily. It will also allow the brands to make smarter and more informed business decisions.
More on the Solution
According to the agency, there are two ways brands or other agencies can leverage this new solution. They can either allow P+ Measurement Services to handle their broadcast monitor and auditing or the can provide them with their compliance data sheet monthly. Odiakose explained their goal with the solution is to replicate the same success they have recorded with the print and online media segments. Asides the solution, the agency also wants to empower brand handlers with tools and skills to measure and scale the impact of their communication efforts. According to a media analyst associate in the agency Gilbert Alasa, the solution offers marketing communications managers a single view of their marketing channels all on a single dashboard. Nigerian journalist, Rita Okoye wins ‘Entertainment Writer of the year ‘award

Gifted journalist, Rita Okoye of The Sun Newspaper Nigeria emerged  Entertainment Writer of the Year at the just concluded 13th edition of Nigeria Media Nite-Out Awards (NMNA). The enterprising writer clinched the award alongside Ayo Alonge, and Funsho Arogundade of the aforementioned Newspaper who won the ‘Business writer and Society writer of the year’ awards respectively. The event which was held at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, on Sunday, and themed: “The Nigerian Economy and Political Development: Finding the Missing Piece,” had the keynote address delivered by a former presidential aspirant, John Onche Shaibu, with Zamfara State governor, Bello Matawalle, who was special guest of honour,  recognised as the Most Security-Conscious Governor of the Year. Rita Okoye popular for her weekly entertainment page, Inside Nollywood, is a seasoned entertainment and lifestyle writer  who is has become one of the nation’s most sought after entertainment correspondents. Organisers, at the event, said all awardees deserved their respective laurels, as adjudged by the jury, having played their parts in the development of their careers and the profession of journalism in general.  One of the high points of the event was the posthumous recognition of Late Precious Owolabi, the corps member with Channels Television who was killed in Abuja, during the clash between the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, popularly known as Shiites, and the police. Late Owolabi was honoured with the award of the Reporter of the Year. A property development agency, Revolution Plus, also gifted a plot of land in Lagos to his parents who could not hold their tears, while receiving both the plague and gift.
