was once again glancing at the lackadaisy reddit and i genuinely feel a little crazy about how people perceive the wick and mitzi arc from retinue to sneakthief? or, honestly, their arc in general. to act as though wick is some patron saint greatly amuses me when it’s implied by mitzi and the comic that wick had either proposed a business deal himself or had been very amendable to talk about it after their kiss and / or other intimate acts last night … mitzi didn’t pull this out of her ass! she did not put this upon wick randomly. it was something they mutually agreed to do, and given how hard wick tries to wiggle away from the conversation without outright saying no ( aka giving excuses to stall ) i would even guess he essentially already agreed to such a deal, in the throes of passion, only for him to not fully mean it later. this doesn’t mean it was right at all for her to then steal from wick! this isn’t me excusing that! but wick isn’t some poor meow meow either in this scenario, even if he is the ‘lesser’ evil overall.

and tbh i also think the conversation was doomed from the start : wick was horrifically exhausted and was still too shaken up by rocky’s ‘joke’ to fully engage with mitzi, as well as finally having church’s warning start to weigh on him … and then there’s mitzi, who wasn’t faring any better! what with viktor out of commission, asa turning on her, mordecai threatening her, and then having spent most of the afternoon hearing her dead husband’s name be thrown around. in order to hurt her and scare her into obedience, mind you. like, neither were in any state to discuss business or romance!! so it’s no surprise it went poorly. especially when both of them were equally sore and testy during their date.

(preemptive disclaimer of "i mean this in the most platonic sense yeesh") i just watched hadestown and now i've been thinking about my amnesiac!stan-getting-dragged-into-the-rift-and-somehow-ending-up-as-a-pirate au and how since mabel never got a chance to prove ford wrong about being trapped in a greek tragedy of his own making, ford is now stuck subconsciously associating his quest to "save stan from the nightmare realm" with the classic "save a loved one i failed from the underworld" stories and that a part of him is resigned that there's nothing but failure ahead....

WOW okay jokes aside, I had a lot of fun imagining what Tanny would look like without the mask. Being able to download the character references was also a godsend for this project. I'm so happy the NarraDeclaration team has them available for download, 'cause now I can see every time I forgot a design detail <3 (not complaining though, Skelebean did a wonderful job designing the best gang of chucklefucks in Outset)

This is also the closest I've ever been to trying to be 'anatomically correct.' I had to look up some pretty weird stuff, the tamest of which was 'chin up reference.' I don't think it's 100% accurate anyways, but I had fun and that's what matters.

If you don't wanna see that, the basic summary is: I wanted Tanny to look scary lol

So we know that there was an ACCIDENT that occurred to Tannhauser which resulted in his mostly-robotic form. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned in-game, but my conspiracy theory is that he got mangled by a chainsaw car due to a Tyrant's Guild raid. As a part of THE ACCIDENT, I think he lost his whole bottom jaw, requiring reconstructive facial surgery with leftover skin and more metal to replace the missing bone. The respirator is to help maintain that structure, and to assist in eating and breathing.

Again, it bears mentioning that I had A LOT of fun with this.

Even if he is one of the sillier characters among the party, I think it's always good to remember that Tannhauser can be very intimidating when he wants to be and when he doesn't want to be! The cringefail balances out the coolness perfectly.

Oh and if you're wondering why he's got such sharp canines, the answer is simple: I thought it would look cool and no one was there to stop me.

I do. As a whole it read more like a love letter to the games. And Nocturne has gone so out and off course atp that i should be annoyed because how you gonna be doing all this and still not get your history right be ignorant about stuff? Esp for the changes given to characters?

Yet for all the misgivings i have, as a whole it made me fall back in love and replay the games and i dont know why I stopped loving this series

However, at the end of the day, people can like it or hate it. I love it. Its a fun ride. I love the games and the lore. I love the fun of Netflixvania too.

Im not sure if this is a "omg u like netflixvania" in a bad way or good, but regardless hope this answerd your questions ^^
