I mean. The Ides just passed so I'm legally obligated to rec This Is How I Disappear by tzviaariella. This one's pretty (in)famous so chances are you've read it, but if you haven't, know that I consumed it in one sitting and then proceeded to furiously type paragraphs in Tzvia's DMs. All her DN fics in general are amazing— she also wrote Noelverse and is currently writing its latest installment! Though I myself haven't read any of Noelverse yet, everyone who has raves about it!

Besides that, I was in the height of my Death Note phase more than a decade ago now, so I can't really recommend a lot of fics that I liked from that era lmao. I generally gravitated towards gen fic, with the only shipfics I read only ever involving Mello, Near, and Matt. Speaking of Wammy boys... Sins of the Father by sarapsys, which is canon-compliant, focuses on how fucked up Wammy's House is. It's told from Roger's POV.

Under One Roof by the same author is a collection of stories told from the POVs of a bunch of their Wammy's OCs during their stay at the house. I remember loving the worldbuilding and all the characters' personalities so much.

Dead People by Tierfal is a oneshot that's set post-canon. Near can hear dead people. FF.net link warning.
