One year has passed since the final battle.

The world is at peace, each race has joined hands, and restoration was underway.

In the midst of all that—.

Shulk suggests to Melia that they search for the Imperial Capital Alcamoth, which had gone missing.

The two board the airship Junks with their sights set on the Imperial Capital, but the ship is suddenly attacked by a mysterious bombardment.

And Junks crash-lands in a place called “Bionis’ Shoulder.”

New World

A further expanded world.

The setting of this new adventure is “Bionis’ Shoulder,” which you never visit in the main story. It is on the left shoulder of Bionis, a suspended mass made of floating minerals.

New Characters

The Nopon Kino and Nene will become your companions on Bionis’ Shoulder. Although young, their strength in battle is fully-matured.

—Kino

He is looking for his father and aims to become a “hero.” He is also a bit shy. What abilities does the Ether Gun given to him by his father possess…?

—Nene

A reliable Nopon who looks after Kino like a mother. While she is cute on the outside, she is quite the power-type in battle.

New Adventure

Like the main story, various strong enemies await Shulk and company on the field. Since Shulk has lost his ability to see “visions of the future,” he must be more cautious than ever when facing an enemy and think carefully about how to approach battle.

The monster in the black mist is called the “Mist Beast” (official English name TBA). Not only does the monster itself possess potent strength, its energy wave is able to attract nearby enemies to attack Shulk and company.

The “Nopongers” (official English name TBA) are a team of Nopon surveyors scattered across various places on Bionis’ Shoulder. They will join you as allies if you complete their requests, supporting you in battle by using their respective special skills as they please. They can also cooperate with Shulk to unleash powerful special attacks.

Cette escouade de Nopon arpente Bionis dans le chapitre inédit de Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. Les “Nopongers” sont une escouade de 12. Ils sont divisés en équipe ayant chacune ses techniques particulières: une équipe rouge, bleu et jaune. Sur le “Noponger Report” vous pourrez visionner le profil des Nopongers que vous avez ralliés à vos côtés.

Definitive Edition Delves into Gameplay, Reveals New Screenshots and Remastered Music

We find out more about Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition’s updated mechanics and graphics, as well as the brand new epilogue.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has been getting tons of new information, a gameplay trailer, and brand new screenshots revealing way more about the game. We also find out more about the epilogue, including the party and new mechanics. You can check out the trailer for the main story below:

There are tons of new screenshots showing off the enhanced graphics for both the cast and environments. We can also see some updates to the interface, including quality of life changes. For instance the new Affinity Chart (which is the side quest system) not only shows an NPC’s name and what time you could find them like in the old version, but now we can also see their trade and location.

Character outfits can also be changed using a feature called Fashion Equipment, which means that players can have characters wear their favorites while still maintaining the stats of your equipment.

As for the “Future Connected” epilogue, it will take place on the Bionis’s shoulder and two new Nopons will join your party of Shulk and Melia: Nene (the pink one) and Kino (the green one). Shulk also won’t have Vision any longer so he has to think carefully in combat. Meanwhile the party will be battling enemies infected with black mist, encouraging more enemies to enter the fray. There’s also a new mechanic involving Noponger squads (basically a group of Nopons) who join the party once you fulfill a wish for them and aid with an assist move.

Nintendo of America also posted a sample from Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition‘s remastered soundtrack. The track, the Colony 9 theme is one of the most well known pieces in the game. So hearing the new version really sets up the expectations for how the rest of the new OST will sound:

It’s hard for me to pick a favorite because they both sound so good. And that’s a testament to how well composed the remastered track is, that it can even compare to the original version. Hopefully Nintendo will make posting new tracks a regular occurrence on their social media alongside any other new info.

Nintendo first announced Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition for Nintendo Switch during their September 2019 Direct. After several hints at the possible release date for the title, a Nintendo Mini Direct that aired in March revealed the official release date of May 29th.

The original Xenoblade Chronicles released 2010 in Japan and 2012 in North America for Wii, with the 3DS port of the game coming out in 2015.

C’est ainsi que le Junks s’échoue sur un lieu qui se fait appeler “L’épaule de Bionis”.

Un monde encore plus grand

L’aventure prend place sur un lieu encore jamais exploré dans l’histoire principale, L’épaule de Bionis. Sur cette région de l’épaule gauche de Bionis, un mystérieux minéral semble provoquer la lévitation de certaines aires.

 De nouveaux Alliés

Vos partenaires dans votre aventure sur l’Epaule de Bionis sont les Nopons “Kino” et “Nene” Bien qu’encore jeune, ils sauront vous montrer leur force en combat qui n’a pas à rougir de la comparaison avec un adulte.

    Kino Il souhaite devenir un “Héros” comme son père qu’il admire. Il est un peu timide Qu’en est-il de ses compétences en tir d’Ether acquis de son père…?

    Nene Personnage fort, elle est aussi la mère adoptive de Kino Contrairement à ses apparences mignonnes, elle est du genre redoutable et puissante sur le champ de bataille

      Une nouvelle aventure

Comme dans l’histoire principale, de nombreux ennemis puissants vous attendent lors de vos explorations. Du fait de la perte du pouvoir de “Prescience” de Shulk, nos héros souhaiteront plus que jamais mener prudemment leurs combats.

De nouveaux Ennemis, les “Créatures Brumeuses”

De nouveaux ennemis enveloppés dans une brume noire vous feront face, il s’agit des “Créatures Brumeuses” (ndlr: ceci n’est qu’une traduction et pas le nom officiel) Ils sont non seulement puissants mais ils ont la capacité d’émettre une vague d’énergie attirant l’attention des ennemis aux alentours vers eux pour les opposer à Shulk et ses amis.

En avant! Nopongers!

Les “Nopongers” forment une équipe d’exploration Nopon, dispersés sur différents endroits de l’Epaule de Bionis. En les aidant à accomplir leur souhait et en devenant ami avec eux, ils vous viendront en aide durant les combats en employant des techniques spéciales variées, et vous pourrez même utiliser de puissantes capacités spéciales en coordonnant les offensives de Shulk et ses amis avec eux.
