I keep reminding myself that not everyone has read every possible githyanki/githzerai related source going back to the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Fiend Folio. Not everyone has this level of Special Interest. Not everyone is actively trying to track down good hard copies of most of these books. Nor is anyone obligated to do so.
So here you go: I'm going to explain why "githzerai good/githyanki evil" is completely reductive, not in line with the lore, and would be ridiculous to add to BG3.
The githzerai are far, far, FAR from saints, and including them in BG3 would just muddy the waters further. They aren't just running around being the good to the githyanki's evil. And never have been. They've been chaotic neutral since the Fiend Folio, and they did not become Chaotic Good in the years since. In fact, I'd make the argument that, based on their canonical behavior right up to the present, "chaotic evil" would be an appropriate alignment.
Back in second-edition D&D, in the Planescape Book of Chaos, there's an entire section on a credible rumor that the githzerai are working on a ritual that will allow them to pull githyanki out of the Astral Plane into their city so they can "punish them for their evil." (Page 76, if you're curious.) Dragon magazine #306 (an official source), there's an article entitled "Killing Cousins." It details the gith-attala, or...cousin hunters, githzerai who specialize in hunting down and killing githyanki. They go after githyanki anywhere, but in particular strongholds on the Material Plane. As of Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes (again, official source), it's explicitly stated on page 305 that the githzerai are "always on the lookout for githyanki plots to foil and creches to exterminate."
If we encountered githzerai in BG3, the most likely place to do so would be outside the creche, planning an attack that would have targeted eggs, hatchlings, and children.
The githyanki aren't coming from a place of moral good. But neither are the githzerai. Simplifying it down to good vs evil does the entire story of the species a disservice.

"I saw [a single thing of] you yesterday!" WHAT did you see of me?"
The joke is based on the confusion that Basque students usually make: choosing paradigm nor-nori-nork instead of nor-nork.
In Basque, the auxiliary verb reflects number, direct / indirect object, and subject. The auxiliary verbs here are:
nizun = ni (marker of subject: I) + _ (marker of direct object: single thing) + zu (marker of indirect object: to you) + n (marker of past tense)
zenidan = zen (marker of subject: you) + i (marker of direct object: single thing) + da (marker of indirect object: to me) + n (marker of past tense).
Since there are markers of direct and indirect object, it's implied the person saw a singular thing of the man, not the man himself. The correct sentence to express "I saw you yesterday" would be:
Atzo ikusi zintudan.
zintudan = zintu (marker of direct object: you) + da (marker of subject: I) + n (marker of past tense).
Tip to avoid this mistake: nor-nori-nork paradigm - the one that includes object and indirect object - always wears an i before the marker of subject ^_^.

York: Ugh, crushes are so dumb.
North: I know. Whenever I’m near the person I like I just start acting stupid.
York: But you’re always acting stupid?
North: ...
North: Yeah, don’t think about that too hard.

deciding which coffee shop to go to today like option1: have a weird experience here or option2: have a weird experience there…?
edit: I chose the indie one with better coffee bc if it’s gonna be weird I might as well have good coffee at the end of it

y'all. i'm running my first dnd campaign with some friends on saturday. i pretty blatantly stole anthony burch's great british bake off idea for it, so i'll report back on how that goes. but i need y'all to know that instead of doing important shit like "plan the last two thirds of this mini campaign" i have instead chosen to do dumb shit like "make a video and record a shitty noel fielding impression introducing all of the contestants/PCs."
this is going to go sideways immediately. i am. so fucking excited.

Late Night With the Devil: absolutely superb. The beginning was an infodump and the styling on the trippy finale was very 2020s surreal horror, but the entire rest of the movie just evokes Ghostwatch. Loved it, SO glad I sprung for a theater ticket instead of waiting for it online. Definitely a big screen kind of thing. The trailer actually didn’t spoil anything about the key plot, so…I’m gonna keep that quiet.
Regarding the framing device…it was present. Neither bad nor good from where I’m standing. It did its job. But the core of the movie, the “live” television broadcast? THAT was great. Pacing just like the reruns of shows my grandparents used to watch. A set design that came right out of a 70s show. The lead did a phenomenal job as a 1970s talk show host. The way he talked, his body language, his facial expressions—he was brilliant.
It had just the right amount of fourth-wall-breaking for a story with this premise. Looking at the camera and talking to the viewers is standard for talk shows, obviously. But watch the possessed kid. She consistently looks at the camera that holds the perspective for THE PEOPLE WATCHING THE MOVIE. Not the in-universe viewers or studio audience looking at a monitor. Us, in the movie theater in 2024. Never addresses us, never speaks to us—but there’s a distinct sense that she knows we’re watching.
You can tell it was good because during the tensest scenes, the obnoxious whisperers and the people eating popcorn all went DEAD SILENT.
All in all, this is one I’d say is worth seeing in theaters. It felt like sitting in a room crowded around a TV on Halloween night, 1977, complete with shocked silences and nervous giggles at the commercial breaks. Or like…being part of a studio audience during the broadcast. Alone on a small screen it would have been good. On a big screen with an audience? It was better.

Nosy asks: 26 and 32
Thank you!! From this ask game
26. What’s your favorite season?
Ooooh that's a hard one, I think fall and winter are tied for me? I love cold weather, hot weather makes me grouchy, but I'm not a huge fan of this whole ice thing. Right now I'm inclined to say winter, because it's snowing right now and my silly California weather-deprived brain finds that Very Exciting XD but ask me this again in the fall and I'll probably have a different answer.
32. If you could live in a fictional world, what world would you pick?
Huh.
So here's the thing. There are a ton of fictional worlds I would love to visit. I'd love to learn any of a number of crafts from the dwarves of Moria (before it fell), or see how the Qunari make their armor in Dragon Age, or attend a Klingon opera, or get to meet dinosaurs in Dinotopia, or go hiking in the Little Peninsula, etc, etc, etc.
But I don't think I'd want to live in any of them? Like... I would really miss my friends, and my cat, and in many fantasy settings I would deeply miss having a sewing machine XD I'd miss getting to play video games with people, and watching horror movies. This world has a lot wrong with it, but it also has a lot of good, and this is the world I know.
